“Good game Empire bad investment”

Robert B.
5/25/21

The many changes that Stillfront have put into what was a decent game, is creating a mass exodus of its player base, these are not to be confused with its made up numbers which players maintain consist mainly of multi accounts and shell accounts, which have flooded the servers. They have moderators, and CM's, trying to keep a lid on on it, with bans, and censorship, but players are not happy, and are moving away, and many talking of doing it, if changes are not made. Anyone speaking out is banned by moderators, with petty charges against them, and they flood threads with their own contacts, multis, and each other. Multi accountants thrive while moderators control complaints against them so they are left untouched. Players have had enough and are calling for boycotts, while mods delete the calls as fast as they are put up, with players receiving punishments. What we need is a new game like this but not belonging to or been meddled with by Stillfront. The game once classed as a free to play game, is now called a pay to win game by players. The player base is now in 2 destinct levels, of P2W and a low F2P, with the P2W players feeding of the others, a game where buying rubies runs the game. So Beware. Deep wallets only.

Their game Stillfront - eRepublik Lab is a huge scam. It allowed the use of multiple accounts, bots, automation servers, buying and selling accounts and they did nothing for years to punish such a game and many players bought packages to make up the difference created by such an unfair game. I think that a lawsuit is being prepared against this company of more than tens of millions of euros due to the fraud of the players. Avoid this company and its games.

Tip for consumers:
Wouldn't bother playing this game. To much turmoil within it, and uncertainty. I would really want to make sure on direction, and longevity of the game as it stands. Within the player base it's no longer classed as what would be an original and true free to play game, as it's been stripped of that status. With ads now included, a multitude of expensive offers, and a predator type high P2W player base, the enjoyment and playability have gone.

Stillfront Group contains a portfolio of game studios and a very profitable portfolio it is, judging from stockmarket enthusiasm.

Online gaming is a growth industry in the pandemic world but, following a recent experience detailed at the blog below, I am leaning to the conclusion that player conflict (ranging from taunting remarks to the most extreme abuse) is seen as a driver for revenue.

Stillfront claim that all their studios are allowed to operate near autonomously but there must be some common ground. Customer care policy and strategies for increasing revenue are contenders.

Any and all competitive games necessarily involve conflict at some level, it is all a question of degree. The ability to damage or steal assets of another player is probably the most contentious area and is discussed at the blog. Cheating is another issue. "Honest" players are frequently incensed by cheating antics of others and the temptation to reach for the credit card to fight back is powerful.
Goodgame Studios operate several fora where various cheating strategies are complained about (even openly debated as "normal" behaviour - https://discord.com/channels/**************/**************/**************) but despite having all the technological tools to seriously curtail cheating, very little has been done over a period of several years. Cheating is a win/win scenario, the cheats spend money and the victims then spend more to fight back. The only area where action is swift, obvious and severe is fraud, often payment default - draw your own conclusions on that!

The big question is whether Goodgame Studios are alone in operating a policy which encourages conflict to increase revenue, or whether it is common across the Group.

Feedback on other experiences with Stillfront Group might help to fill out the overall picture. Please comment at the blog.
