“They Do Not Guarantee Satisfaction”

I have worn Stegemann wool clogs for more than a decade, and find that the quality has definitely declined now that they are selling as Stegemannusa out of Virginia. I just purchased two pairs of wool clogs with an interval in between. The first pair seemed to be great, and I gave the company a glowing review. That all changed when I received my second pair a few weeks later. I wore them for only one day, and the plantar fasciitis that healed in 2002 is back with a vengeance, to the point that I can no longer tolerate the first pair of clogs. The footbed of the left slipper is all wrong, and the size is not true to size as the first pair are. I contacted Stegemann customer service, and, guess what, since I wore the slippers for a day, they are considered to be worn and do not qualify for a return, even though there is something wrong with them. They say you have 60 days to return, but they do not advertise that you cannot wear them! How are we supposed to know if there is a problem? So, I have written of $125.00 slippers. Do yourself a favor and deal with an honorable company like LLBean that guarantees and stands behind its merchandise.
