“HOME OWNERS LOOKING TO REMODEL, FIRE AND DISASTER VICTIMS BEWARE”

David S.
5/30/21

Im writing this review for a number of reasons. But mainly to inform anybody looking to remodel thier home or in my case a very unlucky home owner that experienced a house fire. ( thankgod for insurrance and i cannot stress it enough. 30_ 60$ a month or whatever it may be is more than worth it!). But the contractor that i decided to go withfor the repairs was Statewide remodeling. First of all the representative that was sent out to my home the day after the accident was very polite, understanding and sensative to the situation. However about 2 weeks in to everything, emmidiatly after i signed a contract binding me legally to work with them and only them for the duration of the restoration process of my home. I was informed via text the very next day that i was '" for no reason at all " to contact the rep that i signed with nor was i too contact his boss because they both were no longer with the company. Then i was given a short list of names that i could contact. This is were everything goes terribly wrong and continues to for 10 months. A 10 month period were absolutly no work is done and my house is left empty and vacant through the winter and spring. Thier are a enormouse amount of things i could sit hete and list and i could sit here and bad mouth these individuals by name because they showed my home of over 30 yrs so much disrespect and disregard that i would be embarrased tobe associated with Statewide in any way. However im under contract. So ive forced myself in order to get my home back to humbly get through this nightmare. Im a master carpenter and ive spent yrs in the construction industry and a good portion in the remodel business. And i never have seensuch negligence and simply put sloppy, carelessness and complete disregard for somebody elses property. Wether it be a jobsite or somebodys home thiers just a certain level of professionalism thatshould be a standard. But with Statewide thiers absutly noone of that. Its now 11 months into the job and the trusses that could have been orderd over 7 months ago at least have arrived and thier wrong! Dont fit! Another delay. My housing allowance provided by my insurance has run out ( 56k) and im being forced to either pay out of pocket or live on somebodys couch if im so lucky. And we all know with covid that no to many people want to open thier doors. Im being told that late august i should be able to move back in. A yr from the day of the fire. Now for perspective, i own a1,300sf rambler The fire was very small on the exterior corner of my garage. However smoke damage seemed to be the worst of it. Let me say fromexperience in this exact trade a 6 month job at the longest Maybe 7 and thats allowing the delays from covid. People please do a little research if you can before you end up in a situation like i am. If nothing else, just dont allow Statewide remodeling near or around anything you own!
