“AVOID STADIUM NISSAN - DISHONESTY TAKEN TO NEW HEIGHTS”

Marie H.
11/8/16

I received a Truecar certificate from Sales Rep Albert that listed the cost of the vehicle before tax. Dealer fees and accessories were listed as $80 on the paperwork that he sent to me. Albert told me in no uncertain terms that this was the final price and no other fees would be added. Lupe, his co-worker, told me in no uncertain terms that Nissan would offer me ZERO percent financing for this vehicle. I have two Voice Mail messages from her confirming this. During the course of the two weeks that I was working on this deal (waiting for total loss insurance money to come in from my previous vehicle), I had managers who would tell me they would call me back within 5-10 minutes to answer questions. They NEVER called back. When I was ready to get the vehicle, I told Albert I would be there in the evening and had very limited time so to please have all the paperwork ready for me to sign. I had emailed my driver's license, proof of insurance, and other docs to Lupe so that they had everything they needed on their end to pre-process everything. As I started driving to the dealership, Albert texted me that he had a personal emergency and that Tyler York had all my paperwork. When I arrived, Tyler York was not there, he was sent to another store and no one in the store knew about my deal. They printed out a form for a sale that listed the car price more than $2,000 higher than what Albert and I had worked out; and they would not honor the promised zero percent financing. They (Eric and a manager) told me that either Albert and Lupe were incompetent or that they had intentionally deceived me and that this was the only price the dealership could offer. They explained that EVERY car they sell automatically has $2,000 added to the price - the Nissan Advantage - which is basically insurance for various issues and maintenance. I told them I did not want that. They told me I had no choice - it was automatic. I walked out and was chased to my car by someone named Damien. He told me that he would offer me the "Nissan Advantage" for half the price. I told him, "no" and explained this was not the deal I agreed to. He said that it wasn't fair to the dealership since they already put the items that come with the "Nissan Advantage" on the car and it would be a loss for them. He also explained how I would get key replacement, dent repairs, and a host of other maintenance options so it was well worth it. I said, "no" and I left. The next day, Albert called me. He said he would honor the deal we had made. But right before I left, he called again and said he had to add on $1,000 for the "Nissan Advantage" because his boss wouldn't let him not do it. He also said he could not honor the "Zero percent financing" that Lupe promised me on multiple occasions, two of which I have recorded on voicemail. Because my daughter needs a car and we have been without one for her for over a month, I gave in. When we arrived at Nissan and began filling out all the paperwork, I was told that the half price "Nissan Advantage" would NOT include all the maintenance and insurance that I had been told the previous night. Since I was "only paying $1,000" I'd only get the paint and interior protection - an application made to the vehicle. Now, remember, I was told last night that the dealership would be losing out because all of this was already applied to the car and they couldn't take it off. Well, it turned out, it had NOT ALREADY been applied and that it would need to be applied later via an appointment that we would have to make. So I said again, I don't want this then, especially since it has not already been applied. Albert told me that I had no choice - that the dealership would not sell me the car unless I got it done. I was really upset. But I went through the sale anyway - and even though I had been very specific in both writing AND by phone that I was on an extremely tight time schedule, the process took more than 5 hours to complete. I essentially lost my Sunday. I will NEVER patronize Stadium Nissan again. I ended up paying more than a thousand dollars beyond what was promised to me in a dealer mandated application of a paint and interior protectant that I DID NOT WANT, and refusal to honor the ZERO percent financing that was promised. This was an absolutely TERRIBLE experience.
