I made a mistake and signed up for the 7 day trial for 0.95 cents. I called customer service and spoke with a very nice lady named Jessica who took care of canceling my order for me. In fact, she did such a professional job and was so helpful that I asked to speak to her supervisor in order to compliment her. I spoke with Justin, ID#1541, and told him how impressed I was. Now the reason I canceled was because the person I was trying to find, a long lost friend, the phone numbers they provided were both disconnected.

I purchased a free trial in order to find some information on a specific person I know well. The site advertises thorough "deep diving" searches that will shock you by the information they will present to you. Spokeo's "deep diving searches" couldn't even find the last 2 addresses this person was registered at. Nor could they even find their Facebook page which you can find from a SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH. Total waste of time, Spokeo is stealing consumer's money.

I just signed up for the free trial I thought and was charged 29.95 out of no where for a subscription I didn't want. I was refunded 11.98 because I was told full refunds are basically non-refundable.

I used Spokeo to look at phone calls made to my family. I found it somewhat accurate, but then Spokeo had an employee contact via me a fake "Survey", to find why I was looking at phone records, and why. They offered a "$20 Amazon gift card and I participated. The questions asked indicated it wasn't actually an interview about my opinion.

My main problem with Spokeo is twofold: the first being the fact that you must pay a subscription fee PLUS extra feed for any substantial information. The second reason being i dislike anyone who pushes you into giving a review the trick of a" pop-up" window that won't go away until you get that review to them. That is how I got on this site. I think this is a form of marketing blackmail.

I normally don't write reviews, but I feel like I had to leave this review. Its like other people search websites where its used to look up people and get info. I used spokeo and the info I got is the same thing you can find for FREE and even just googling up people! The people I found on other websites... couldn't find it on Spokeo! Addresses were so old they're just GARBAGE! I was using this to look up my former classmates and I need that info so I can contact them by dropping a letter in... and I couldn't find it!
The 19.99 dollars I've paid is not worth it. I wouldn't trust the info I found on my parents... spokeo claims it searches the deep web---don't trust this claim you can get the same info for FREE!
However, the customer service is the BEST I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! My customer agents got back to me when I have contacted Spokeo about my problems... usually within a day or so and they even SEARCHED SOMEONE FOR ME! I could give TEN STARS if I could!
The reason why I put 2 stars is the data itself was so old it doesn't seem like spokeo updates their info! The info I found on instantcheckmate and peoplelooker I couldn't find here: "No results found".
Update--I have received a 7.98 dollar refund from spokeo... not the full refund but still acceptable.
So sorry I didn't take a screenshot.

Tip for consumers:
Don 't trust the claims you get and it's best to research and find out for yourself! Some of the info you get is GARBAGE and the SAME EXACT STUFF you can get for FREE!

The site claims to be able to provide email ownership details but this is an untrue claim. I galso received the same information results for three different emails... I highly doubt the validity of these results.

Don't usually give reviews but this site makes me happy to get info for.99 one time payment but got surprise to charge me $29 after 7days with subscription without me saying yes. I usually check first if there is gonna be a monthly payment. Good thing paypal email me for charges or else I wouldn't know. Though the customer service gave me a refund but still they will charge you without really suscribing!

A lot of the information is outdated or incomplete. And, my own personal information is so messed up (it looks like mine and an unknown person's records are combined into the same record) that it gives me very little confidence in the accuracy of other records).

Got SPOKEO to locate friends and family members that I had lost contact with for some time. Used your methodology and got the necessary info. Called a cousin and a few friends and got
Connected with the following; the emergency phone at another high school and on a few occasions, "Henry who? Never heard of him." Either numbers have changed or your system is faulty. I have the proof of purchase (order # ******* on Jan. 15,2022), but have no means to send a photo

The information provided is good, but not particularly better than some other sites. The reason for my low rating is there sleazy pricing where after you sign up for one search they ask you to try it for a full month but then do not send you a reminder that they are going to bill you month after month. I was successful in getting them to retract the charge yes I caught it the day that it happened. A more ethical Approach would've been to send you a reminder that they will be filling you in X number of days so you can have a heads up if you wish to cancel.

I searched online for someone, and stumbled onto this "service". Got the one search for $0.99 charge. Most of the phone numbers they provided are obsolete numbers. I had to hunt and finally got one good number of a relative of that person that I looked for.
A few days later, they charge me the auto renew monthly charge of $25. I had to call them, and had the service cancelled and money refunded after a "hold" on the phone.
Since they refunded me, I will give them a two stars instead of one. Nobody likes these hidden auto subscription bullS. On the internet. They said it in the email. How about you put that in bold and prominent on the website. Stay away. You don't need this.

You will get a page that says to see the report subscribe, or pay a one time fee. They DO NOT make it clear whether or not there are actually any results to report. You may end up paying to learn nothing from your search.

The information i received on spokeo on myself and 2 other people i know was 85% false. If you need accurate info i would not recommend this site. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because the customer service rep, michellle that helped me cancel was extremely helpful and responded very quickly. She is definitely an asset to this company.
Save your money you can get better info on your own for free. This site gave outdated and completely false info. This is basically what i wrote on the survey the sent me. After filling it out they thanked me for my POSITIVE feedback and asked me to review them on this site. So obviously they cant decipher the info they receive from any source!

I was trying to get an email address. I paid $0.95 to get a "report" of contact info, and it only contained the street address. I would have to pay $19.95 to get a further "report" -- with no guarantee of what info would be contained therein. So I didn't go forward. Next thing I know, a charge shows up on my credit card statement for a monthly subscription of $24.95. I never signed up for that! These people are deceitful. However, when I called in to get the charge removed, the CSR was very responsive and took care of it.

Tip for consumers:
You have to pay for any information, and are not guaranteed to receive the type of information you are looking for. They don't tell you in advance what type of information you will get. They dole out the info in bits, and keep asking you to pay more and more for more info. It's scam-like.

Paid $0.95 to lookup a person. A week later, CCwas charged $29.85 for an auto monthly subscription I do not want. Cancelled through PayPal and through Spokeo website. After multiple emails, they have not refunded. Misleading, will never use them again and do not recommend to others. Beware!

I signed up for 7 day trail at certain price. I then on the same day sent email to Spokeo to cancel subscription services. Next I find a charge of $24.95 billed to my PayPal account. I call, explain myself and the end outcome is "we can't give a full refund since it has already been billed, but we will send you 9.98 and you can use the service for the remainder of the month subscription. This is modern day theft, and I will never use Spokeo again. Been Verified is your competitor and will have my business in the future.

I just viewed a report on myself and I am shocked by the amount of data that is wrong. Major things such as my date of birth is wrong, my current and previous addressed are not only wrong but I have never lived at the addresses listed on this report. Almost all of the relatives listed are related to my ex-husband that I have been divorced from for 25 years. There is nothing listed in this report that would be of any benefit considering all of the data is not accurate.

Only pay for one report and check the accuracy before spending a lot of money or committing to a long time.

Got the result I wanted quickly & efficiently. (only one search needed)
**** BUT then my credit card was hit with a monthly subscription that I never asked for or wanted.
Had to contact customer service to get it reversed. (which they did with no problem)
Seems to be the usual practice to sign everybody up as soon as your 1st search is done.
I thought Wells Fargo was sued for $$$ Millions for that kind of business practice.

I paid to find out information to find my son. I seen his name, with ALL the addresses where, he's lived, (correct info). Shows no family. AND he is 41, born Oct. 21 1980. Your site says he is 74. Why did I pay for this info and it wrong on your end.

The website said the number I was researching was a landline and that they had the name of the owner. I said what the heck, I will pay and start an account. No name associated with it. And it still said it was a landline. I called in to see what was up. I was told it was VOIP. Total waste of my time. The rep on the phone was good, the information on the site was wrong or useless. But at least they refunded my money. Sad that my first experience with Spokeo was not good. I know others that have used it with better results.

I paid $19.95 for what was supposed to be an "enhanced" report. All I got was the person's addresses (the current one was not even correct) along with several pages of neighbor information for past addresses. None of this information is helpful or useful, and it can be accessed quickly and for free online without paying for a report. I will say, though, that the customer service representative was pleasant and professional despite not being able to help me or give me a refund.
