SparkPost

We started out using Sparkpost as a test to see how well they were able to reach the inbox. Their service seemed pretty decent, though it was a bit slow and tests to Google's email platform seemed to always result in the email not reaching the inbox, but rather the spam folder. After trying to add another domain to the account, they blocked the adding of the domain and didn't present any reason as to why they were blocking the domain. Company doesn't seem to have any sense of transparency into their business decisions. They'll charge you for a service, but then fail to actually provide the service they are charging you for and there is a lack of resources and information to make their service stand out compared to the competition. Given a quick search online, it becomes quite apparent that I am not the only one having issues with their service since a lot of email marketers have expressed their disservice to a company that seems to only be interested in signing up "low-hanging fruit" rather than trying to be a quality email marketing service provider. Other providers generally seem to be easier to work with and provide a better overall service across all of their facets.

Update: Someone from SparkPost reached out to us to try to resolve the issue. The issue seemed to be that someone else had already added the domain to their account years ago and it has been sitting there unused. Since we own the domain, we should be able to add it to our account. I offered to show them that we have ownership of the domain and that we should be able to add it to our account regardless if someone else believed that they own it or if someone else had previous set up an account years ago, but they only offered to request the other account owner remove the domain before we could use it even if it weren't actually verified or validated.

That's insane. Highly recommend not doing business with them.
