I joined the SparkAmerica 2022 Spring Fit City Challenge team with great pleasure. A way to provide me quickly pace for spring time. Indeed, it is an interactive challenge that helps to improve my health. The team and leader are an extraordinary incentive for activity. Great, my lifestyle is extremely easy and successful.
I have done spark for years on and off when I needed to loose a few pounds. I was very successful with it. I loved that I could meet people and find food from all over the world and make my own recipies and calculate the calories, because I eat a lot of ethnic food. I went back to the site again because I am trying to loose a few pounds I gained during the pandemic. I was shocked to find this has been turned into a FACIEST "America Only site". And to think I actually recommended this Crap to my international students. I have no use what so every for facist SparkAmerica I am an American but this is sick. The fascists' have destroyed another good thing. From the description it also sounds like they are now charging for the services they used to offer for free. But I an not interested in an American only online platform so I can not say for sure..
I've been using sparkpeople.com due to the fact it was the first site I found that has a database of foods and nutrition information that I could use for calorie tracking, but there are other similar tools out there. There are big problems with the functionality of the website. The list of foods won't populate when I am searching "recent" or "favorite" foods, and I have to enter and re-enter my search terms. Then the list will finally populate but it disappears just as I am trying to choose what I ate from the list. Then foods that had an indicator onscreen that they were "added" for the day are not on my food log at all when I refresh the page or access my log from the phone app. And don't get me started on the buggy problems with the phone app! Sparkpeople is run by people with moderate scientific knowledge on weight loss-- not experts by any analysis-- but they are enthusiastic about their topic despite poor article writing, editing or soliciting skills. And there is clearly no one on their staff with current web design skills sufficient to compete in today's web market.
But hey, it's free. And if you already know how to use science to improve your weight and health the tools can be useful if you are patient with the poor functionality.
Tip for consumers:
Shop around for nutrition tracking apps before committing to this, unless you have a lot of extra time to fuss with poor web design issues.
I just started Sparkpeople.com since I heard they had a good recipe calculator. This site seems to have a lot of good and helpful information, but I think the website is a little consumer unfriendly. There is just too much going on to shape out accurately where you want to be going. I will continue with it since it takes up a lot of my time. It’s time I might have been eating!
I have enjoyed using sparkpeople.com to get better health and aid keeps a correct body composition and weight. I started with a free membership, and it helped me put several healthy goals based on my height, weight, age, and body composition. They set sensibly simple goals that I could were achievable.
