Horrible Customer Service

I purchased online with Soma. I bought both panties and 1 bra. I purchased the panties during one of their promotions and the bra at full price ($60). Shopping online is a lengthy experience due to a poor setup of their site. The filters do not work so you have to go through every item to see if it's available in your size. It seems that you filter your size, which it doesn't know that the items are unavailable. You can't filter by style or by collections either, so why have this function on the site? The selections are limited and very few choices of colors because nothing is available but 1 or 2 colors and chances are not in your size. My order arrived quickly and I was satisfied with everything but the bra. It was nothing like the picture and was made of cheap ivory mesh (like a tinted net). It was the only bra in ivory, but almost all the panties were ivory based, so don't expect to match your bras and underwear! I returned the bra and found no substitute in the boutique, so my money was refunded.
I had another order which I had placed a day later and was a bit surprised by what I received. The medium panties were all different sizes and not 1 one was consistent, all were different sizes of mediums. A few of them looked nothing like the online picture. Two of their medium hipster cheekies were like reverse thongs (looked like a landing strip in the front), so I decided I wanted to return them and find something else in the same price. I contacted their customer service chat and the individual did not comprehend English well and had no idea what I wanted and did nothing to help assist me. She offered zero suggested options to exchange. I was also told that you cannot exchange items, and the only exchanges are for the exact same product- which I hated! Common sense would be that they process the return and offer different styles available that the customer may like (another sale item in the same promotion?) but this is not how they do business. You have to spend hours looking for something instead of someone assisting you despite asking for help. I gave up with the chat since all I received were canned responses and went to return the items at the boutique. The employees in the boutique didn't want to pull up my information and the return took awhile because they really didn't want to process it despite Soma stating you can return at the boutique. I asked for assistance to find a couple panties and was told they have none! There were bins of the sale items right there! I was going to look at the items, but changed my mind once the worker told me they had s change to their donation and rewards policy- claiming for your donations you can only spend them on bras. This is not true; I checked online and that's not the policy. I contacted customer service through email and explained the difficulties I had communicating with the chat representative, told them about the store experience, showed them the policy, asked what the policy is since I'm told online is not correct, and asked for assistance yet again. I received several emails from customer service, all with the exact canned responses! Not answering any questions or assisting me with my purchases. The emails were condescending and rude. I don't think Soma cares about customers or additional sales. I highly recommend doing business elsewhere; there's plenty of other bras and panties sold online for cheaper and better quality. I'm sure they'd be happy to boost their sales.

Tip for consumers:

The filter function for sale items is useless. You filter for size medium and you’re shown XL. Very time consuming.

Hostage Takers of your Money!

I purchased seven bras on Friday, January 27th, 2023 and I wore one of them over the weekend and it was "simply horrible" because of the way it was made. The Style was an Enbliss Wireless Bra which has a two-tiered construction. The cup of the bra is "separate" from the elastic band which made the bra "rise up" which makes the bra "useless" in coverage of your person. Unfortunately, I paid via check for this merchandise ($269.48) and I returned all of the bras the following Monday, January 30th, 2023 to their store in Lenexa, Kansas, to which I was told although they already have the returned bras, that I would not receive a refund of my money for them until 30 days and it would be mailed out to me although the check had not even left the business location yet and they could have just given it back to me (but they did not) and I could have simply "voided it" and my account would not be touched since they already had the bras back. This is simply unacceptable because I got "a long song and dance excuse" when I called their Corporate Office Line on Saturday, February 4th, 2023 about the reasoning for having to wait so long on this transaction to which the Customer Service Person (a female) that I talked to was "very condescending" saying, "I am surprised that they even accept checks there and people should not even write checks." And besides, "There is nothing you can do about it anyway, because the money will be debited from your account." I responded back to her by saying, "Excuse me, what do you mean? I write checks all the time." She said, "Well, have you not ever had a problem like this before?" I responded "No, never." The bottom line is, they want to collect their money as soon as possible, but they want you to have to wait 30 days for the return of yours. Their Refund Policy is "totally stupid and unacceptable" and they "hold your money hostage" while you wait to receive your money back although they already have their items/merchandise back. It should actually only take 7 to 10 days like other businesses. It remains to be seen if I even get my money back. I am not optimistic. I do not recommend anyone to purchase anything from this business. They are definitely rip-off artists of your money and conduct "bad business practices" and they need to catch up to/with the current times and conduct refunds "electronically," so customers do not have to wait so long to receive their own money back. There is no rhyme or reason for any transaction to take 30 days to be processed for the return of a customer's money. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL AND NOT IN GOOD FAITH! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE OR BUSINESS! YOU WILL BE SORELY DISAPPOINTED IN EVERY WAY!
