“Prime Pink Hosting, or, perhaps, Soft on Spam”

Many businesses have legitimate needs to send e-mail. They communicate with customers, for instance. Or they maintain mailing lists for fans. Doctors may exchange patient information with other doctors when doing referrals. Other businesses use it differently. Sending unsolicited commercial e-mail is often viewed as an inexpensive way to advertise. On its face, the cost of sending a piece of unsolicited commercial e-mail is essentially nil. It is not as though you were paying for gasoline to power a physical mail jeep, after all. The problem is that many people do not care for unsolicited commercial e-mail. They tend to block providers which send a lot of it. And providers push back: many insist that their customers not send unsolicited commercial e-mail, and even unplug spammers. Which is well and good, if you are legitimate. But the spammers still need somewhere to go. Despite our myriad suggestions as to where they should actually be dispatched, they remain here on earth and need internet services in order to continue their pink mailing ways. And that is where SOFTLAYER comes in. A friendly provider who is happy to cover the planet in pink mail. If you are searching for a friendly host for your pink mailing, be assured that softlayer.com / theplanet.com have made provisions for you: * no investigation, your reputation does not matter * no penalties for sending pink e-mails * insulation from complaints after your spam runs * many softlayer netblocks are not yet in blacklists

January 31st, 2015

January 31,2015, the Softlayer facebook page received more than 1000 negative reviews in a single day, mostly due to an image of a softlayer support correspondence leaked by a dissatisfied customer which in turn changed a 4 star rating to under 1.2 stars in a matter of hours. We are still waiting for an official press release of this matter.
