Terrible - Avoid
October 15, 2024

This site is really bad and the method of credits is so expensive. If someone sends you a video and you'll get lots, they may be 1 second long and cost $19.
Everything costs you on this site. Is you send it costs, if you receive it costs. They even charge per minute in the chat, so you are spending credit reading the response. It's even funny that they sell credits in numbers divisible by 50 as the girls send an email which contains the video. And the email costs 10 credits and then the video costs 50 and therefore if you purchase the lowest amount of 50 credits for $19 you then have to buy another to open the video.

The site is also censored and they block out any number of email or any contact info, so even if you get along well with someone, there is no way to share details. If you want too you have to spend a small fortune as they make you spend a massive amounts on credit and 2 weeks before they allow it.

I'm also very, very dubious the girls profiles are real because if they are, then the Ukraine is literally full of models which are single, which I doubt. I had probably 50 girls contact me ranging for 23 years old to 49 years old. All were very keen and sent many letters and videos.

Also, after you start chatting with the girls, the motive becomes very clear… They are working to make you buy and spend credits as it all starts with lots of stupid questions, over and over and you can see pics sent to you for free. As soon as you engage in the chat, then everything is locked and chargeable and they will send more and more letters with more and more videos.

Also, when it comes to videos… Funny how the women showing off their beautiful bodies exclude their head and face from the video.
On a few when they talk, they also don't say your name just a generic 'Good morning'. I also said please send a photo with doing a gesture so I know they are real and NONE did.
I honestly believe these woman as earning an income from this site to lead men on to buy credits, in fact in one picture I got I saw the women had 2 x laptops and 2 x phones behind her and I'm sure this is as she is communicating on multiple sites at once. I did sign up for a different site out of interest and did see the same girl with the same pictures on there too.

As soon as you start to say you are leaving the site, then I noticed more and more girls said they wanted to leave too and yet they wouldn't and just kept on sending videos and saying 'why can't we chat on here'.

One of the girls, I found online and she's a model in the Ukraine and I found her Facebook page. She was shocked when I mentioned the Agency she works for and gave her full name and page of her facebook page, And then the excuses came out, she's not got access… Her employer uses that account, she doesn't know her password etc. Basically she could have responded to the message or friend request but no, she wanted to only talk via the site.

Also other concerns are:-
- You can't see who likes your profile.
- You can't unlike someone.
- You have no indication / info if they speak your language.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. You aren't going to meet anybody on this site and all you are going to be is frustrated as trust me the credits vanish so fast that you can't have a conversation. Oh, and broke as the credits are so expensive and like I said, you pay to send and also receive so hit financially whatever they do.

You also can't delete your account. You have to chat with someone via a chatbot and so far about about a week my account is still active. I've messaged them many times to delete it and no.

Do yourself a favour and ignore this site and look elsewhere.

Tip for consumers:

I’m pretty sure Sofia Date is a pure Scam site to extort money out of men looking for a woman to have a relationship with as it all seems very controlling and everything points to the fact that this site is only about making money and not about finding love.

Looks good on the Outside
April 22, 2024

I was curious about this "dating service" as I saw an ad on facebook and having an acquaintance with 2 Ukrainian Ladies in the past, entered the free deal given online. The initial 20 credits is just enough to get you interested and then guides you to purchase more credits to continue your conversations. Looks good on the outside, but then you find out the requirements to have a chance to get a "real" email, I said chance, and you find out that you have to message on 15 different days and spend a large amount of credits. Then the lady has the option to provide an email if they are willing. You are guaranteed nothing actually and there seems to be no accountability on the vetting of either party on this website. I had 2 in the beginning that asked if we were confirmed or vetted and I had to answer "no" as the only vetting that I had was an email confirmation that it was actually my email. If you buy credits, please make sure you keep track of them. 2 or 3 times after purchasing a larger amount, I would be busy in the evening messaging several ladies and thought I kept track, but the next morning there seemed to be a large discrepancy in the amount I had left. The first time, the company offered to add a few back, but it was not the same and the next time I was watching closer and they denied my request. When you start a chat with a lady, the letters and pictures start costing credits to read, something I was unaware of until I responded to someone that I had an interest in. I gets costly very quickly if you use the letters as a form of communication. I had checked out reviews and ratings before I started spending for more credits, but found out later that the multiple sites that I looked at were sponsored by the companies running the sites, so it was totally deceptive. After a few discrepancies, I dug a little deeper and found some other sites that told a totally different story. Some may be real and sincere, but many are hired and used to keep interest and spending to the maximum. I also found out that there are at least 5 different sites all run by this company. Same format totally as Sofia, but colors different and subtle changes for them to appear as different sites. Most of the ladies are the same on all the sites, but not all and some have different picture sets but the exact same bios. Avodate and Love for Heart are two that I remember right off hand. I joined all 5 with my name and a different number after each one. There were only 4 or 5 ladies that even noticed that I had several profiles on their messages and all of them claimed to not know that they were on multiple sites. All claimed to only have one chat feed that all their messages came into. I also confronted one lady that did a lot of advertising for 2 companies, and she denied it, so I blocked her immediately. There also appears to be a Sakura Date site that is for the Asian ladies under the same company also. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it is just another layer of deception in my book... There is no regard for your preferences. I asked for no one under 34, but repeatedly and almost daily there are 20 yr olds sending messages. Inappropriate pictures, videos, and nudity seem to be attempts to keep someone spending credits. I am not a prude, and like sexual encounters as much as anyone, but lust to make money is not appropriate to me. I don't even know if the ladies know how their pictures are manipulated and distorted to make them appear perfect and have a much larger breast size.
The ones I confronted seemed to know nothing about it. The cg retouching is quite obvious from the cleavage to the dresses that are colored to look like different dresses altogether. I tried to be upfront about everything including my Faith in JESUS CHRIST, but that was ignored or even made fun of. I had good intentions but spent too much money here and was totally disappointed when all of the requirements were discovered. I had success in communication on another well known dating site, but this one is not made to communicate, just to make money! This is NOT a dating site! Fantasy seems to be the selling point, but reality hides behind anonymous and internet projections. It is a money maker for the company and I suspect that some of the ladies may get a cut of that also. There is no real chance to communicate and eventually meet someone here in real time and if you do get some information, the lady has the option to deny or ghost the email attempts. I found out too late and spent more that I should have. I only hope to give enough info here to give another man the chance to make an informed decision on whether to proceed.

Tip for consumers:

don't spend money here unless you know all the requirements!!

Stay away from this site unless you want to lose all your hard earned money.
October 22, 2023

After reading all the reviews about sofia date I thought I would take the time and give my experience here on this site. Like many have stated the site is a scam. I've spent many months on this site, some of which I just observed viewing profiles and some of which I had conversations with a couple of woman which of course cost a ridiculous amount of money. Price breakdown 10 credits per picture sent equivalent to almost £5 / $7.50 per every picture sent or received, Short video clips 25 credits equivalent to £11 / $14 per video sent and received, Sending stickers in chat 5 credits. Letters 20 credits per letter, if pictures are attached to the letter the first picture is free to view any additional pictures are 10 credits each to view. The latest feature is virtual gifts and these are a cracker some of these virtual gifts cost more than the real thing just to show a picture of a gift on the chat screen. Now lets get to the real gifts that you can purchase for the ladies. I have never seen anything so expensive all gifts cost at least 3 times the amount of what you would pay for them in a store. So to sum things up on the costs they are just out to take as much money from you as possible.

Now lets talk about getting the contact details of the lady you are chatting with. You are required to spend 5000 credits at a cost of £800 / $1000 and are also required to chat to the lady for 15 days with no more than a 72 hour period of no chatting. Hello sofia date wake up to reality things happen where you might not be able to chat for this period of time. Once you have completed the requirements you then put in a request to request the ladies contact details which costs a further 500 credits. Now this is a long process that they drag out as much as possible. You are asked to fill out an IMBRA form for those of you that do not know what this is or have never seen one it is short for International Marriage Brokerage Regulation Act (IMBRA) this was passed by the US government in 2005. Now the kicker with this I live in the United Kingdom this form has no relevance or legal standing in my country I'm not a US citizen and never have been but still they say it is a requirement to request the ladies contact details. Again to sofia date if you are reading this the IMBRA is an act that was passed in the US for US citizens this act is for the US only not the United Kingdom. It is just another tactic to delay getting the ladies contact details in the hope you will spend more money to top up your credits to keep chatting until they check all the details you provide on the form and believe me they will drag this out and contact you saying you filled it out wrong then you have to do it again. Then when they are happy with the form they will contact you saying you missed an important part and you need to send a copy of your passport or driving license to confirm your identity. They will do everything possible to get you to keep spending money. And I can verify this is the case. When I have not been on the site for a while I have had them contact me by telephone offering me discounts this proves how much they want to get money. Then the emails come offering discounts on the next 5 purchases.

Seeing all the reviews many say it is a scam and I am inclined to agree with them. I have seen erotic videos from ladies with their heads not viewable in the videos and some videos they send are not of the same person. I have observed that the majority of the woman are practically online 24/7. I think I have said enough here to give you enough insight as to what goes on here. The site needs to be and should be investigated for fraudulent activities. So guys stay away keep your hard earned money. I made this mistake and they will not get any more money from me.

Waste of time and money PERIOD.
September 27, 2023

I've read all the reviews here and my experience has been incredibly similar. I too paid thousands with absolutely nothing to show for it. I went through all the proper channels and my contact request was approved after many days of back and forth with support over continued documentation requests. When you surpass the required chat time you can submit your contact request but be prepared to wait. I was successful at establishing contact outside of the site but what was continuous messaging on the website and outpour of love turned to a mere trickle of one line responses that came in every other day that were completely lackluster. Her excuse for lack of responses was that she hadn't used email before and that it was a big hurdle for her at almost 49 mind you. But yet she's traveling around the world taught english in certain countries but yet does not know how to use email. I told her time and time again to stop sending me videos because it was extra money that I was not willing to spend and I wanted to devote my hard earned money into establishing contact and build our relationship. But she kept sending. And like all of the other gentleman in here the videos were always from the neck down and you could never see their faces and when I did request for a video she read a prepared statement. Someone that has a strong command of the English language should not have to read a written statement. So what was online was nothing compared to what happened in real life. If I did something wrong I would be able to accept this a lot easier. But I guess now that I'm not a cash cow there is no interest any longer and has remained online on the website but has stated it was a webpage issue that keeps her logged on. BS. So I'm out thousands of dollars and two empty hands still. There is a great interview that was done with an American psychologist by the name of Sean (last name uncertain) who researched the site for a book he is writing and the things he mentioned what he was subjected to, It was word for word the same. The broken perfume bottle that the mom gave her, or loans they have outstanding and cannot apply for a visa until they take care of that. And stating that there were rules and a process to follow was a dead giveaway. Someone that loves you and wants to spend their life with you would not say something such as that. They would be willing to do anything to build and maintain a relationship. Move heaven and Earth I used to say. This is definitely not the site to go to if those are your intentions. I've added a screenshot of the video that lays everything out in great detail and the psychology behind this entire process and is recent and rather informative. Although its it's reaffirming what we already know, it's good to know we are not alone. I sympathise with all of you. I'm a physician and I have should have known better. But for me the world is black or white, yes or no. So when I say yes I commit to it 100%. So here it was no different. I kept telling myself this isn't real and I would express my concerns to the ladies I would talk to but those concerns were never addressed or put to rest. Any requests for recent pictures, my NAME (they always forget - they need to get better at shift change reporting) and they all try to get you to secure thier mobile number by sending one digit in each letter. Ten digits usually in a phone number. Ten credits per letter. You can do the math. But if I had a nickel for every girl on there that approached me this way I wouldn't worry about all the money I just spent. So guys...stay away from this place...it's not real. The company is registered in Cyprus as a prostitution service. That should tell you everything you need to know right there. I know the girls and the site state they are not paid but we all know that's BS. AND when you stop talking to them because you are suspicious they will berate you.they will call you a homosexual, not a real man or less of a man and others. So guys don't fall for this whole damsel in distress nonsense because that's exactly what it is...just a fictional story led by a cast of very malicious people running a clandestine organization. Smarten up!

Geared at making you buy credits
July 20, 2023

I was as disappointed as everyone else. I have a dispute open with my bank account and I predict this site will be closed soon. Just because of the illegal fraudulent activity, It's a big fraud, geared at taking money away from people looking for love. It's one thing to pay for something and have buyers remorse. It's another thing to pay for some thing that's not even real.
Everything's great to start off with, but then you get the unsolicited porn that doesn't even look like the girl because the video is cut off from the neck up, If you're looking for a long-term love, why do you need porn? Then if you ask them for videos of themselves, just saying hi or having coffee or whatever. Well I got a psychotic response about how I did not trust her and things couldn't possibly work out between us. I've noticed in other bad reviews these replies from supposed Sophia date representatives that say love often goes awry not everything works out. That statement is very true but that's not the case here. I don't know if the girls are desperate for work because they come from a war torn country or the depth of the fraud.
But it's fraudulent. Geared at getting as much money as they can from people looking for love. The people who run this website and are profiting from its deception, have a lot of bad karma heading there way. As well as serious fines, and probably some jail time
If you think it's true, go ahead and stay on the website. Buy Credits and eventually you will realize it for yourself.
The biggest red flag was when I asked her for normal every day videos of herself saying hi. She said she couldn't possibly do it right at the moment. She could send generic pre-recorded videos, or porn with no face, She couldn't possibly make a video just saying hi.
But next day there was a new video. It was like she was reading from a script. At least the girl was actually real but she looked like she had just come outside from a family gathering to make a little bit extra money on the side. I'm guessing they called her and asked her to read a script for a few extra bucks to keep the illusion going And it's weird the different homes that she lives in. In the headless porno number one she has this really beautiful shower two moles, on her stomach and normal size breasts, the other one it looks like a girls bedroom and she suddenly has the body of a teenager. The last one was a different bathroom, the two moles were gone and her breasts had grown quite substantially. It's very sad. It makes Ukrainian women look really bad. In any case, they won't be getting any more money from my credit card, My credit card, and my bank have been alerted to their schemes. Like all fraudulent charges once the bank is aware, they don't put them through.
What I'm pretty sure is happening here is they pay these girls and create these profiles and the messaging? I don't believe it's from them I think it's from somebody else.
If they need to do anything extra, like in my case, they must have them on call so they can give them a script to read.
It's very expensive for a mail order bride. I realize that, but this is not that.
Just tell your bank dispute the charges, and they should go out of business really soon.
I hope I have followed all of siteJabbers rules and regulations because people should be made aware of this fraud.
