Loyal Smilebox customer for 15 years. Great for digital sends, but that's it. Printing at home function very cumbersome when it does work and seems to not communicate well with my printer as it keeps changing my print parameters. I was a premium member which allows me to print at home. However, the print function is hidden and is not accessed in the way their help section describes. When I finally found the hidden "print button," it was spinning (along with the download button) and continued to spin for hours despite several computer reboots. The program is sluggish and runs very slowly. My computer is 3 months old and is a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 and is lightning fast with every other program and application. Contacted customer service via e-mail and phone. Got a text message that they don't offer phone support. Received e-mail that basically sent me back to their help section. I indicated that I found the button, but the print and download functions were not available to me as they kept spinning. Never heard back from them, despite me saying that my project was time-sensitive and I needed a swifty resolution. Cancelled my subscription and used Canva's free trial to do in 12 minutes what Smilebox couldn't do in 30 hours. Canva will have my business from this day forward.

Go Pro button is located in edit mode right next to save button. 1 accidental click will get you charged $139.99. They wont refund your money. They do not ask you to confirm. And the button sits like an editing button. Beware. 1 click. No refund, no confirmation of request.

In using Smilebox since March 2011, a paid premium subscriber, I loved the program. I had no issues over 8 years until July 2019, they changed the software, my password didn't work. I had 2 accounts, old program AND new program (for businesses)! I got that problem solved, I thought, but unable to send, kept ending at update membership page. Finally able to email but couldn't access contacts. Frustrating! After months I finally gave up! Cancelled my membership, told I'll have access until March. I can't use it so what good is that! Will see come March!

It is the best card creator I have seen in the internet. However, their payment method looks like a scam. At first, there are three levels of membership. With the free option one can only create a card, but cannot download it, share it or do anything with it. Furthermore, there is only available an annual subscription. But the information that it is the annual subscription is hidden on the last page of the payment process, which may be easily overlooked.

This program changed the settings on my desktop... tried to install too many add-ons... don't like the little ad at beginning of my creation.

Very difficult to get to your creations and I cannot get the creations I made on my office computer on my home computer even though I am a paying customer and they were not free items... it is very annoying. If I am logged in I should be able to get all my creations no matter what computer I am on!

Smilebox is a software you download to your computer. Therefore the designs created are saved to your saved documents on the computer they were created. You can can view your designs on another computer but need to move them over, which is easily done. Smilebox needs updating because you can't fully customize your video like upload studio the video editor app on xbox FREE!

I have been using Smilebox since 2011 and was a paid subscriber. This year 2019, I found they have changed the software which no longer works on my MAC computer and I need a new password to access the site. What is very agonizing - they have my contact list and if I want to use it, I have to pay their premium rates, which is blackmail!

I can not believe this product doesn't offer phone or chat support. Also it is a pain that you can not start a project on one computer and finish it on another. What is the purpose of having an account if it can not do this. It cause me to have to recreate the same project multiple times when I had to change computers while out of town to create my dad's memorial video and as a result it was not done in time for the funeral.

The product itself is wonderful but I paid for a month and they could not find my account. I sent the copy of the money paid for with a credit card. I called and they wanted the same information send over and over... nothing was resolved. I worked on a huge 70th birthday celebration slideshow and was not able to fully use Smilebox to finish the project. It was a waste of my time talking to them... they take the money and don't deliver. It use to be good not it's a rip off. Poor poor support.

The designs are beautiful, but the tool does not allow to modify the pictures, import multiple pictures in one slide, place the pictures differently than centered, etc. Also the music cannot be trimmed or cut or otherwise modified. That's too bad!

Nope it was hard to use and then after i created the slide show it dosen't upload with the song with it and then i wanted to re share this and it won't let me but did let me post to facebook with out sound. This has been 12 days. I need a full refund

I agree with Sherri J in that I cannot start a Slideshow on my gf's computer and then not to be able to finish it when or amend it when I get home. Terrible. Also, there used to be a Full Screen icon on the bottom of the page when viewing a creation. This does not appear any more - why not? Now there is Smilebox's HUGE legend at the bottom of the screen which takes up about 1/4 of the screen. Additionally, their legend blocks out the comments which my gf painfully put together under each picture (which we took on recent safaris in Kenya & Tanzania. I have been a member of Smilebox since 2011but am seriously considering finding another provider. Lastly, they need to improve their Customer Service.

I spent many hours trying to do a slideshow. Very difficult and no support and directions are misleading. They are deliberate in how they confuse you or trick you to upgrading. Buyer beware.

I used this website alot to make Dvd's. Now they won't download on my computer after you spend a lot of time making the DVD. I emailed the company and they say it is an Apple problem. When asked for a refund they were very sharp at saying did you read the agreement? NO REFUNDS. Not a solution, Just too bad we did not guarantee
That you would be able to download your Dvd.

I have used smilebox and paid the premium for several years and recently realized on some of my older slideshows the music had been removed and a most annoying instrumental had been added. I asked them why and it took 2 days to respond that because they were older they didn't have access to the music! Now I'm wondering if I cancel if all of my creations will be gone and I don't have access anymore. 48.00 is pretty steep for so few options and then they take your music off. I'm so disappointed.

I can't really love Smile box. It is missing some very valuable features that are essential to event planning and hosting! Originially, I chose Smilebox because of the affordable monthly price, but other sites provide you with so much more which gives you that added security. Although the invitation I went with had a nice design that went with my theme, I was limited to getting all my event details on just one page unless I want a slideshow format that honestly doesn't have the best designs. I had to leave out a lot of vital information and tell my guest to call me for more info! The slidesshow format design options are not trendy or really creative I feel. Smilebox should work on providing the same designs for all formats and could possibly be a hit! I don't like the fact that I can't add more text boxes or addittional pages (at least one more page!) to my invite. I also hate that the information details for the card is only on the email and will appear no where else. They even have a character (word) limit on what messages you send to guest when you initially send the invite! Can you believe you can't even send additional messages to guest realistically?! I also don't like the fact that once you email your invite, you can't change details, or edit the invitation. I mean every other online invite site allows that and this would just make so much sense to provide to customers. On Smilebox if you want to change details, add info, or edit the invitations you have to recreate the invitation and send it all over again. Why!? So ridiculous! I hate the fact that you cant send event reminders to your guest either? Why not?! This is so essential! Duh! Then to top it off you cant see who opened your invite/ or who didn't view it. This is also a very essential feature that Smilebox missed the box on. I do like the fact that you can add music to your invite creation which did really make many people smile.

Tip for consumers:
Try pairing this invite with another notification service so that you can send updated information to your guest and communicate with them!

I was expecting to find more adult based content in the templates and better production... I'm disappointed that I paid for this and would like my money back... Although, there were two or three templates that were great in the Halloween section, that was it for me... I would be jumping up and down for joy if the templates looked more like movie trailers. All in all, the service is easy to use and making the original creation is fun, but it's all a little to warm and fuzzy for me. More elegant and classy templates for business and advertising purposes would make this site an every day visit for me and many others... Thank you...

Your program was fun but your prices went higher and the services still are the same. Did you know that you charged me for two consecutive years and I was not even using it. I call to cancel until I got a computer but you all still charged me.

It is ok but on the free trial to print it out on your own printer using your own in and paper that costs money they try to charge you it does say free trial!;-(

This company used to offer a lot of free services. They now state that if you want certain things you can use it under a trial period but the catch is that if you want the trial period you have to give them your credit card number. It states that you only need to tell them that you want to cancel and would not be charged. I decided I did not need it and I sent them an E-mail. You can not call them. No one picks up. They charged my account and they refuse to give me a refund because I did not state that I wanted a refund, I stated that I wanted to cancel. So do not give them your credit card number unless you really want their service. I would recommend Shutterfly instead.

I don't care for the fact that I am forced to choose a "free" trial by giving you my credit card number. When the so-called "free" trial is up, send an email to me that says it's time to pay to keep premium. It's not truly free.
I couldn't even post it to Facebook without paying.
