Bought a pair of Tom Ford FT5277 eye glasses which I must say I was excited that I had found them cheaper by £100 online. However, less than a year later, the gold strip on the frames began to discolour and looks like rust. Reported this to customer services and even sent them pictures of the discolouration of the frames. Note I also have a pair of sunglasses bought from Harrods around the same time and is not discoloured.
Their response to my query is that the discolouration may have been caused by "acidic sweat or the likes"
I find this quite ridicoulous because as part of quality control, this would have been checked and verified and, how come my sunglasses of the same brand do not have this discolouration.
I have now contacted Tom Ford eyeglasses customer service to confirm the authenthicity of the frames and to know if this is an expected outcome of their products.
I am certain the frames are fake. Note that since I emailed Ana in customer services to report that I am contacting the manufacturers directly, she has seized to communicate with me.
She offered me a 10% discount to be refunded by paypal as compensation. What of the 24 months warranty promised on their website for any manufacturers defect, discolouration etc? See excerpt below

I will be reporting this site to the consumer watch dog. So beware. They sell fake goods... Their warranty offer is bogus and they mislead people into believing you are buying genuine goods...
