If I could leave a negative review I would.
I ordered lovely prescription Prada sunglasses. Unfortunately, the prescription filled was incorrect and prohibited me from wearing as I became nauseous when wearing. Attempted 3 consecutive days.
I contacted the company which implied I submitted an incorrect prescription. I have used this prescription for a number of sunglasses with local dispensers and Zeni whiteout issue which I advised and provided backup.
There was an exhausting amount of back and forth emails and finally they agreed to refund the purchase of the glasses. I felt because the prescription was incorrectly filled, they should be responsible for the entire return shipping amount. They declined and offered 50%.
Another battle arose when an incorrect amount was credited for the refund of the glasses. More back and forth emails, them denying an incorrect amount applies to my cc until such time that I produced the invoice and my cc statement showing a lesser amount. They agreed to then reimburse me the difference. Oh how painful!
The last hurdle was attempting to get the credit owed for shipping. I do not believe it was EVER their intent to reimburse me any of it.
I received a cockamamie excuse that they could not credit my cc but could apply to PayPal. After advising them I did not have PayPay they wanted my banking information, more red flags!
Advising them that this was not an option (due to increased fraud) I offered either return to my credit card (for which they already use for credit), cheque or thirdly etransfer using email address.
All options were declined stating it was not possible.
It does raise the question as to why there was no problem accepting my credit card at the time of purchase and being able to then again on two transactions use my credit card to reimburse me, doesn't it?
I say buyer beware!
Returns are a nightmare should you be so lucky to have it granted!
The amount of time that has been invested in the attempt be reimbursed for a prescription that was incorrectly filled is not worth the discounted price. As they say, if it's too good to be true, it usually is!
Lesson learned but shame on them!
Oh yes and they present themselves as a Canadian company on Canadian site, you'll be charged in US$$

After posting the review below- a sales rep reached out to me and after reviewing my case, they let me choose the lenses I originally wanted and sell had them cut and shipped to me free of cost. (Which is what I wanted instead of sending the glasses back and waiting foe a refund to order new ones)

I now own a pair of Tom Ford eye glasses for every day wear and a pair of Gucci Perscription sunglasses. Both were very affordable and Because of the very affordable prices of these designer perceiptik lense glasses I am able to justify ordering a 2nd pair of eye glasses so I can switch it up and not have to wear the same black frames every day. I'm ordering a tortoise brown colour next.

Even after a very confusing and bad first experience, I will continue to shop from smart buy as every one is human an makes mistakes, what really matters is how you handle yourself afterwards. Sorry that it took me so long to change my review (I was sent the new lenses in February)

FIRST REVIEW JANUARH 2021 BELOW.
I wanted so badly to like smart buy, I have been a clearly customer for years but they don't have as many designer options. I spent days comparing styles on their website and browsing all of the options... when I finally came to a decision I placed an order for one pair of Tom Ford frames with prescription lenses. I then got a PayPal email saying I owed $75 (how? I purchased one item and paid online... how could they get the price wrong?) flag 1... but I ignored it because it said my order was processing online. Then I got an email 3 days later saying that the style I ordered had been discounted... huge bummer but ok, I get that happens. I go online and pick out a new pair that was similar in style and a recommendation from their online sales rep... they were $40 more expensive and The sales representative took care of updating the order exchange for me and sent me a PayPal link to pay the difference. Then 2 days later I get another email saying that my second choice pair was ON BACK ORDER until late February (it was end Of nov/start on dec- and I had just broken my current glasses so I couldn't wait months). So I went back on their website and looked for hours to pick out another pair I was super discouraged at this point and had wasted almost a week, the online sales rep apologized and offered me a 5% discount... I pick a pair, send the style info and a screenshot to the sales person (as instructed) and she updated the order and exchanged them for me... the next day I got another email saying that the glasses that were "discontinued" were in production and should be shipped to me soon!... hmmmm weird. I log onto the website and now I see I have TWO orders open. The first shows my original "discontinued" pair, and the 2nd back ordered pair. And then new order number is created for the 3rd pair. I check that invoice and my online banking and see that not only was I charged twice instead of exchanges but I also paid FULL price lol... I messaged the sales rep online chat window again and tell them all of this, and that I do not want 3 pairs of thick black framed glasses and that I want a refund and that this is crazy that it's been this difficult to buy one pair of glasses... he confirms with me what pair of glasses I actually want and cancels the other two, and suggests I take another look and get a second pair of glasses to use up the double charge amount instead of getting a refund (they didn't believe me when I told them I was double charged and said it was just the way a trade looks on their system- I had to send them a screenshot of my card charges) I said "I do not need two pairs of eyeglasses but I do want a pair of prescription sunglasses so I will use it for that" i then looked on their page and found a pair of sunglasses, I sent him a screenshot and said I would like to order this pair of sunglasses with that credit amount. The sales rep confirmed with me that i wanted percription lenses in both or just then "tinted lenses" I said " I wold like both the eye and sun glasses to have prescription lenses, like the photos sent (Tom Ford eye glasses - clear. Gucci SUNglasses- tinted) he replied great I have that all done for you. I asked how long should I expect them to take because it had taken so long already. He said a few more days because the will need to add a tint to your prescription on the sunglasses. The order arrives. SEPARATELY. I was very happy with the Tom fords and it made the who order headache not so bad... then a few days later the sunglasses show up WITH CLEAR LENSES. I message the customer service chat line again... Get no where the lady sends me a return label... then I thought, why don't I just ask them to send me the correct dark tinted lenses and I can have them swapped out myself... and even offered to send the clear ones back. At first they said no... I'd have to send thing back and pay shipping... then they said they could SELL me the dark tinted prescription lenses for $70 but because I didn't know that "tint" also refers to the costing they put on clear lenses and I should not of assumed that THEIR sales rep would think that when I said I wanted a pair of eye glasses and a pair of sunglasses that I meant sunglasses frames with tinted lenses for the sun... not sunglasses frames with regular eye glasses frames. I even offered to place ANOTHER ORDER of contact lenses or eyeglasses if it meant they could put the correct lenses with that order... but NOPE. OVERALL, DONT BOTHER. THEY DONT VALUE THEIR CUSTOMERS, TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR THEIR MISTAKES OR EVEN TRY TO MEET YOU IN THE MIDDLE. I was so excited when I stumbled across this website, was going to order multiple pairs both prescription and not, as well as contact lenses... I gave them multiple chances to try to redeem themselves and they failed over and over. I ended my support chat today by requesting a return label. And I'm going to order them from somewhere else and recommend to my friends and anyone who asks DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Which is extremely disappointing as a fashion blogger/influencer I was hoping I found a business with customer service to match their great prices and large selection that I couldn't recommend to my followers.

They stole my money without placing an order

WARNING: Smartbuyglasses will take your money without placing/fulfilling an order and then not give you your money back. The company stole $561 from me and I have had no success in reaching a customer service agent to get my money back after 2 weeks. I share my story as a warning to others:

Two weeks ago I attempted placing an order for a pair of glasses in the amount of $140.35 CDN. I received no confirmation for the order or any indication that it had been processed under the smartbuyglasses account I set-up for myself, i. E. nothing under "recent orders". I logged out of and back into my account to see the item I was trying to purchase still in my "shopping cart", indicating that the order had not gone through. As such, I attempted placing the order again with the same outcome - no success. Again, no confirmation email or recent order under my smartbuyglasses account were received.

Immediately after this, I checked my online visa account to see that 4 separate transactions were pending on my visa in the amount of $140.35 from Smartbuyglasses, meaning that there was a total charge of $561.40 on my visa account (i. E. 4 times the amount for the pair of glasses I was attempting to order). I contacted visa and they indicated that the company would likely not post these charges, given that an order had not been processed by the company. Visa advised that I contact Smartbuyglasses to be safe. I immediately e-mailed Smartbuyglasses (no number is available) to ask for confirmation that I would not be charged, given that no order was processed on their end. I did not hear anything until 7 days later. The e-mail is below. What is important to notes is that the customer service agent confirmed that no order went through (they had nothing on file under my account). The agent asked I provide my visa statement. For security reasons I am not prepared to disclose my visa details via e-mail, especially to a non-reputable company like Smartbuyglasses. I did provide an image of the 4 transactions, showing the charges. As such, I asked that someone contact me via phone or that a number be provided to me so that I may speak to a customer service agent and have this rectified. I have had zero response since asking for a phone number.

Last week, I checked my visa account and saw that the company posted the 4 separate charges on my visa account, meaning that I have now been charged $561.40. Not only did the order not go through, but I was charged 4 times the amount for the pair of glasses I attempted to order. Again, no order was placed on their end (see e-mail below)! It has been two weeks and 20 plus e-mails later and the company has still not reached out to me to give me back the money which the stole from me.

If anyone else has incurred a similar experience, I encourage you to share your experience with others. I am now seeing, through reading reviews of this company, how unreliable and fraudulent the company is. I want the money that the company has stolen from me back and they are reluctant to even contact me. I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and opened up a dispute case with visa for assistance. I still don't have a phone number for this company to call. I will be sharing this story via other platforms as a warning to others.

E-mail from customer service below. I have not heard from this agent since replying to the e-mail the day of and requesting a phone call or a number to call. 2 weeks and counting.

Trusting online purchases isn't easy, but this site will put your mind at ease!

The best way to describe my experience is too show you the series of emails that occurred after a mistake was made with my order:
ME:
I was sent an email asking me to write about my experience with smartbuyglasses.ca. It was my first time ever ordering prescription glasses online and I was quite nervous although the process was straight forward and painless. My order was shipped to me within a week or so from the day I placed the order. When I got the glasses I was relieved to see everything was nearly exactly what I requested. The only complaint that I can make is that, I requested Gradient Tint (shiny gray 85G) lenses and instead I got Polarization lenses. At this time, Im not willing to go through the hassle of the return policy and so I will have to just learn to love my new glasses. Im not completely disappointed, however I will most likely not re-order from smartbuyglasses.ca in the future because I like to ensure I get exactly what I request and pay for. I believe that I will just shop for glasses in store from now on. Thank you for your attention.

I have attached more photos as requested. I also wanted to add one more thing today I got a bill from FedEx for $14.04 for shipment fees. Refund the lens cost back to your account.

Send an uncut lenses and you can have your local optician to cut and fit the lenses on your frames. If they would need to charge you with the service fee, we request for a quotation first.

With regards to the Duties and Tax, I have already forwarded the document to our accounting team for reimbursement. We will refund the amount back to your account. Please let us know how you would like to proceed with the lenses.
