Contracted as a virtual CFO by Kim Strang. Did our research, linked-in profiles, website, all appeared to be legit. Then sent us a fake out of country check for $25,000 and asked us to deposit it in our business account and pay their vendor. Luckily we were skeptical so we did more research and found that the routing number was fake, so we never processed the check! Very professional thieves, a lot of background, google searches, etc.

Showa Cho Ltd SCAM - BEWARE
I was contacted and hired as an external accountant by a representative of a Japanese corporation ( Showa Cho Limited).
Representative name: Ann Luo
Company name: Showa Cho Ltd

They hired me as an external accountant with a professional contract. As their external accountant they then sent me a fake cheque of $18,000 and asked me to deposit it in my business account and pay their vendor off with that money.
Unfortunately, after five days of depositing the cheque into my bank account the available balance matched the current balance and accordingly, I paid their vendor $16,000 because I was sure that the cheque had cleared. However, on that same day in the evening the cheque was bounced, and I lost $16,000 due to this scam.
Be extremely cautions and aware of online companies looking to make contracts.
Please follow the below point to protect yourself from any Scam;
1- Don't make any international agreement without meet the
Company representative personally.
2- DO NOT DEPOSIT ANY CHEQUES IN YOU BANK ACCOUNT
THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU OR YOUR COMPANY.
3- If you deposit any Cheque in your Bank account – remember the owner of the cheque can claim the money back within Seven years from the date of the cheque.
4- DON'T MAKE BANK WIRE TRANFER – Anyone ask for wire transfer is Scammer
5- Please check the age of the domain name.
6- Search more about the company
7- Try to get the personal information and picture of the
Company representative.
These are very professional scammers with a lot of background history, google searches, etc. Please be careful.
