Absolutely dreadful service
October 25, 2016

I ordered a sweatshirt with next day shipping, which was necessary because I needed the shirt for a world series game scheduled for 5 days later. After two days - one day AFTER I was supposed to have received my merchandise - I hadn't even received confirmation of the shipping, so I called mlb.com Shop to inquire about the order. I was told that the fulfillment center was backed up and that my order hadn't been shipped yet. The customer service rep then told me she would get a note to the warehouse to expedite the process. I told her I wanted to speak to her supervisor. She put me on hold for a few minutes, then came back and said her supervisor was busy. I told her I would continue to wait. She put me on hold a second time and came back to offer me $10 credit toward future purchases. I declined her offer, as all I wanted was my merchandise timely for this order - I needed it ASAP. It's why I paid $25 for next day shipping! I told her I would continue to hold for a supervisor. She put me on hold again and came back a third time to tell me that her supervisor was too busy to talk to me, but that the supervisor had approved the customer service rep to credit my card for the entire amount of the purchase and still leave the order open. I was told "you will get credited for the entire amount of your purchase, and you will still receive your order once it ships". I told her that I was ok ending the phone call here and that I appreciate her help, but overall I still just want my merchandise right away. She advised that she would contact the fulfillment center as soon as we were done with our call and that they would know my order has been screwed up to this point. After three more days - the day of the World Series game that I need my merchandise for - I still had not received shipping confirmation. I once again took time out of my day to call mlb.com Shop to ask about the status of both my order and the refund. This time, the customer service rep told me that my shipping cost had been credited, but that my purchase cost had not been credited as I had been told it would. She also confirmed that my order had not yet been shipped (wow!). I asked to speak to her supervisor. After a few minutes on hold she came back to tell me her supervisor was unavailable, but that she was told they would not be able to credit my account for the purchase as the customer service rep had advised a few days prior. At this point I canceled the entire order. The service rep could not give me a cancellation number, so my assumption is that I will have to call again later to follow-up on more empty promises. This experience has been a nightmare. Expedited shipping did not process, the entire order did not process, customer service reps lied to me, supervisors would not speak to me, and I could not get confirmation numbers for anything they were telling me over the phone. Wasted at least an hour of total phone time to this point, and I have nothing to show for it other than charges to my credit card that I am going to have to dispute in all likelihood. DO NOT SHOP AT MLB.COM SHOP. The service is deplorable.

The Worst Shopping Experience of My Life!
January 12, 2016

On December 15th I ordered an item (A Detroit Tigers Authentic Ivan Rodriguez #7 White Home Jersey) from the MLB.com Shop. The delivery was not promised for "Before Christmas" but I was ecstatic when a package arrived just in time. However, when I opened the package it was NOT the item I ordered. So I called the Customer Service number and informed them of the mistake. They promised to send me a return label for the erroneous item (I never got it) and promised to ship my order correctly, some time between Dec 31st and Jan 11th.

Well, by Jan 8th I had still not received the label (or the Jersey) so I called Customer Service AGAIN. The lady who took my call was (again) very polite, and said she would email the return label (she did---I received it on Jan 10th) and that I would receive my Ivan Rodriguez #7 Jersey by Jan 15th.

Today, on Jan 12th I received a package from MLB.com Shops, and... guess what! IT WAS THE SAME WRONG ITEM THAT WAS SHIPPED TO ME THE FIRST TIME. So NOW I have TWO generic hooded sweatshirts to ship back to MLB.com Shops!

And it gets better...

After opening THIS package, and discovering that I had received the wrong item again, I called Customer Service for the 3rd time. Again, the agent was VERY polite and apologetic, BUT she informed me that the item I originally ordered was "Not In Stock" and COULD NOT BE SHIPPED, so they will refund my credit card AFTER I ship back BOTH of these "Generic Hooded Sweatshirts". Which makes me wonder... is it commonplace for MLB.com Shop to ship undervalued (this generic hoodie costs less than HALF of the price of the Jersey that I PAID FOR) "replacements" when they are "Out of Stock" on the desired item? Does MLB.com Shop even BOTHER to check with their customers before making a substitution for this, or ANY reason? What kind of SERVICE is THAT?

She ALSO told me that it might take 2 days to email the 2nd label to me, another 10 days to process the return, and another 10 days for the refund to be issued to my credit card. Oh, did I mention those are BUSINESS DAYS? Which means that IF I CORRECT THEIR MISTAKE by shipping back this unattractive, unwanted, and un-ordered merchandise, I MIGHT get a refund in about a month from today. WOW. It surely didn't take them that long to TAKE the $147.97 from my account when I originally placed my order!

One LAST thing... did I mention that NEITHER of the "Replacement Items" are the SIZE that I originally ordered?

In closing, I guess the LOWEST rating I can give is "One Star" so that is what they will get. I guess they deserve that much because they were VERY POLITE while totally screwing me over.
