I'm not trying to build a flashy brand, just want consistent sales. Sellvia's catalog had a handful of solid electronics accessories that fit my niche. Imports were two clicks, descriptions were usable, and customers in Florida/Rhode Island got orders fast with no fuss.
My honest review: Sellvia offers a "ready-made" online store which you drop ship products from. A few things placed me on high alert about the legitimacy and integrity of the company and services offered. First the store itself is advertised as "free", but if you want a domain that will have good SEO you will immediately be up charged anywhere from $9-$199 right after you sign up(sometimes more depending on the name you choose). Next there was the items that were uploaded to your store already. They are all overpriced (severely) nobody in their right mind would pay the prices listed and you have to pay the unit price upfront to fulfill any orders you get and can't withdrawal any money made from sales until you reach $100 in profit. Then all of the "packages" and "services" that they offer to upgrade your store are $100-$500 for some. This is all in addition to whatever monthly fee you're paying to have the store online ($39 for the one I have.) They then tell you that you'll have an Amazon store at no additional cost, however you will also need to pay $39 a month for your Amazon account to Amazon then link the store with the products. (Keep up with the math)
The website is loaded with thousands of fake reviews all from "happy" customers. When you first start you may get a few sales then nothing but a bunch of emails from Sellvia trying to sell you their "upgrades" to get more sales.
The thing that is crazy to me is why would the items be so overpriced to sell if they wanted you to be successful. Why wouldn't marketing and advertisement come with the store packages, because after all, if Sellvia was actually successful because of people having successful online stores, they wouldn't be trying to up charge you hundreds of thousands of dollars for your success. In my experience and research people have more success with Shopify and it's way more affordable, and comes with all the bells and whistles in one price.
All in all Sellvia is only making money from upcharging honest people looking to build a business because they are robbing them with the prices of their additional "services", not because people have success with selling the overpriced products offered on their "ready-made" stores. Which might I add all the products that are sold in those "ready-made" stores can easily be found on EBay, Aliexpress, Temu, etc 100%-1000% cheaper.
I'm just sharing what I noticed. Do your own research first, but I can always tell when people are hustling and robbing people legally.
Ready-made online store Product package upgrades Domain upgrade Amazon store
Update 6-4-24: I see that Sitejabber has flagged Sellvia for suspicious review activity... Finally! I find it funny that places like Trust Pilot will not even "Approve" my review because they can't verify I purchased from Sellvia. Even after uploading receipts and screenshots just like they asked. I don't know how in the world so many fake reviews can make it through then.
I have tried so many things to make this Sellvia store work... but it just won't. I will be completely shutting my site down soon, but Sweenify.com is my store if you want to take a look at what NOT to do... I have tried various themes, various product types (Tried clothing at first, then switched to various gadgets/electronics/home products as it is now, and nothing sells.
The CEO offered a refund, gave me an extra year's subscription, and uploaded a new batch of 1,000+ products that would ship really fast in the US. I really, really have tried to get this store off the ground. But prices from Sellvia are just too high compared to other, more trusted, selling platforms like Amazon where items are sometimes half what it costs me to even purchase from Sellvia! So my little store doesn't stand a chance against them.
I have also tried running ads myself (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Google, Microsoft), ad agencies, and even AI driven places like Juice, Zeely, and Taboola. Nothing will drive customers to this store... My only logical conclusion is that people just don't want to buy these products.
It also seems like I get an insane amount of junk coming in through the contact form on my site and email (Almost like Sellvia sells my info to people that try to sell their own services to "improve" my store - Don't bother... they can't). I have spam filters and Captcha plugins in place, but there's no stopping it. This has been the same whether my store was through Sellvia, Shopify or any other place. So I can only assume that it is a common practice.
Original Review:
I have never ever felt the need to leave such a negative review in my life. Don't let all the hype that Sellvia "Sells" you get into your head. Take your money and RUN! 😡 The ONLY one making any money with Sellvia IS Sellvia itself! Despite all appearances, it is seems to be a disguised Russian (or nearby) business that merely has a warehouse "presence" in Irving, CA to ship from.
They talk a great game in the beginning, but they really don't even deserve 1 star. Everything sounded so much better than anything else I've tried before... (Shopify and others) A built-for-you store with over 1,000 products for however many hundred dollars it cost and it was going to be soooooo great. Once you start pouring money into Sellvia, they continually want more and more money and then make changes that hurt your business instead of helping.
I paid Sellvia to set up my store and they plastered fast, free 1-4 day US shipping all over the place. However, the shipping cost I had to pay was never included in their profit margin calculations. So I actually ended up paying customers to take my products a few times.
Then they upped their shipping fees unannounced to their subscribers, or else they hid it very well. It was not viable to offer "Free" shipping as they had set up the store to do. So I had spend a lot of time to change to Sellvia's default shipping strategies, which charges customers about double what I have to pay to ship an item to a customer. Sellvia's response to my questioning this was that it allowed sellers to make more of a profit. 😡
Now that I've dumped tons of money (thousands...) with advertising companies and finally started getting sales, they've changed their shipping policy again...and again... unannounced. Surprise, now they say shipping will take 5-20 Business days! What kind of crap is that!?!
The biggest selling point of Sellvia was that they had the items already stored IN US warehouses that actually shipped out quickly. You'd be better off with any other company shipping straight from China for a lot cheaper in that case and in the same time-frame! Any attempt of bringing up problems like this with them are met with more sales pitches for their Premium stores and even more expensive garbage.
It just makes me sick to think about how many hundreds of hours I have spent setting up, and then fixing the store to make up for Sellvia's shortcomings just to attempt to make it a viable store. That doesn't even count the thousands of dollars I have wasted on this dang company and advertising thinking I'm just not spending enough to make any money with this thing.
Oh, and by the way... Sellvia is just a branch of AliDropship, which ships AliExpress items. All emails to Sellvia are answered by an alidropship.com email address. So Sellvia is basically just a big store selling their own "Store owners" marked up AliExpress products. The middle man makes all the money and leaves the store owner subscribers holding a huge bag of horse poop... 😡
I wish I had paid more attention to the very, very few honest (bad) reviews of Sellvia that I was able to dig up. I hope this saves someone from making the same mistake I did.
Sellvia "turnkey" store
I am writing to express my disappointment with Sellvia, as my experience with the company has been far from satisfactory. I hope to provide a clear and detailed account to help others make informed decisions.
Upon purchasing a business package from Sellvia, I discovered a significant pricing disparity between their products and those on other platforms. For example, a product priced at $110.00 in my store was found on Temu for only $30.00. This pricing inconsistency has not only impacted my profitability but has also hindered sales due to the inability to compete effectively.
The lack of transparency and effective communication added to my frustration. Despite multiple attempts to contact a supervisor or someone in authority, I encountered a disheartening silence. The absence of a direct phone number for customer support, requiring all communication to be conducted via email, further complicated matters.
In a disappointing turn of events, Sellvia recommended selling my store, providing information for a company. Following their advice, I have not received any communication from Sellvia since, resulting in a significant loss as I struggled to sell the store.
Moreover, the Gold Package, which was supposed to include a Premium-level Online Store, 100 articles, 500 products, Amazon listings handled by Sellvia, a Gold Social Media Package, a Promo Tools Bundle, and an Annual Sellvia PRO Subscription as a BONUS, failed to live up to its promises.
The Social Media Package included in the Gold Package proved to be misleading, offering ineffective tools and failing to deliver the expected results.
Attempting to open my store on Amazon became a major challenge, as the products provided by Sellvia did not pass inspection. Despite seeking assistance, I was repeatedly told that such issues were commonplace on Amazon. This misinformation resulted in severe consequences, as I received a message from Amazon indicating the imminent closure of my account due to credibility issues and non-compliance with their processes.
In conclusion, the combination of pricing discrepancies, communication issues, unmet promises in the Gold Package, and the challenges with the Amazon store setup has led to a regrettable and impactful experience with Sellvia. I share this detailed review to caution others considering Sellvia as a business partner.
I wish I could share a positive experience with Sellvia, but unfortunately, my encounter has been far from satisfactory. As a customer who invested both time and money, I find it necessary to provide an honest account of my dealings with this company.
Service Quality:
Sellvia promised premium services for my dropshipping stores on Etsy, my website, and Amazon. However, the reality fell drastically short. The products they published were not marketable, with prices significantly higher than competitors. The order fulfillment process was agonizingly slow, leading to dissatisfied customers and financial losses on my end.
Transparency:
Transparency seems to be a foreign concept for Sellvia. Critical information about the viability of the services, policies, potential, and price inaccuracies was conveniently withheld until later stages. This lack of transparency is both frustrating and damaging to any business relationship.
Shipping and Handling Time:
Sellvia's shipping and handling times were consistently delayed, causing further frustration and disappointment. Customers were left waiting for extended periods, impacting my store's reputation. The failure to meet basic expectations in this regard significantly contributed to the overall negative experience. I was forced to put my Etsy store on vacation mode until I found some marketable products.
Financial Impact:
I invested a substantial amount - $2,000.00 - with the expectation of making a profit. Regrettably, my experience has been the opposite. Instead of gaining returns, I consistently lost money due to the unreasonably high prices of Sellvia's products and the need for more profitability in my dropshipping endeavors.
Customer Service:
Sellvia's customer service has been nothing short of disappointing. Promised blog articles to boost sales never materialized, and my concerns about product quality and profitability were met with vague promises and excuses. It's disheartening to feel neglected and deceived as a paying customer.
Product Information Concealment:
One of the most disconcerting aspects of my experience with Sellvia was their failure to share a comprehensive list of products before publishing them across marketplaces like Amazon. This critical omission hindered my ability to assess the potential profitability of each product and make informed decisions about my business strategy. Without access to this vital information, I was left in the dark about the market competitiveness, customer demand, and pricing strategies of the products being introduced to my stores. This lack of transparency not only impeded my capacity to gauge the viability of the offerings but also undermined the very essence of a collaborative business relationship. For a service provider that claims to prioritize customer success, this practice of withholding essential details severely eroded any trust I initially had in Sellvia's commitment to fostering a mutually beneficial partnership.
Overall Experience:
In three years of engaging with Sellvia, I've encountered nothing but frustration, financial losses, and unfulfilled promises. The company's inability to deliver on its commitments has left me questioning its legitimacy and commitment to customer success.
Unjust Refusal of Refund After Nearly Three Years of Unmet Promises:
The most infuriating chapter in my ongoing saga with Sellvia is their unwarranted refusal to refund my money, a decision that remains incomprehensible given their consistent failure to deliver on promised services over the span of almost three years. Despite the substantial investment made, the services rendered were far from premium – from unmarketable products to delayed shipping and a complete lack of transparency. The accumulation of unmet commitments and continuous financial losses on my end should logically warrant a refund. However, Sellvia seems indifferent to the mounting evidence of its shortcomings and continues to turn a blind eye to customer satisfaction. This protracted ordeal casts a troubling shadow on their business ethics, leaving me to question the integrity of a company that prioritizes financial gain over the rectification of a long-standing and deeply frustrating customer experience.
In conclusion, my experience with Sellvia has been a regrettable one. I recommend that anyone considering their services thoroughly evaluate the company's track record and consider alternative options before making any financial commitments.
I paid sellvia$2,000.00 for an Amazon store, Etsy store and my website, however, on top of this amount etsy charged $200.00 for allowing me to publish sellvia products to their marketplace.
I used their services for a dropshipping business.
