Signing up was easy. I wanted a warranty since I live in the South and I can not be without an air conditioner. So far I haven't needed the service but it is nice to know I have it. Very nice people so far and easy sign up.
When selling you a contract they will tell you they will repair and take care of everything once they get your money you can forget it once you call them with a problem I gave you a run around they won't repair or take care of anything or any of your calls if you called then you'll be on hold for hours

This company is beyond abysmal. Have waited a month to get my dishwasher repaired. They do NOT care about or value their customers. Their customer service is non-existent as is their "pre-authorization department". Their repair contractors lie and fail to show up and NOONE at Select cares or tries to remedy the problem. You rarely (2 out of 6 requests for me) receive a requested call from a Supervisor and in the rare instance when they do call, they make promises that they do not keep and you never hear from them again. Save your money and avoid this company like the plague. We paid in excess of $3500 for our home warranty and never had a claim in over 1.5 years.
Your service is poor & you do not provide services as promised! You take people's money then refuse to cover repairs! I will never recommend your service to anyone! And I will not be renewing my warranty through you!
I spoke with Sam Mason today. He was very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I enjoyed his excellent customer service. He wasn't pushy or overbearing with his sales approach. I experienced that with another company, and the guy totally lost his sale. Please praise Sam for doing a great job.
Going through the home buying process we selected SHW. With all the paperwork involved in buying a home, they made the process quick and painless. I hope when we need service, we can expect the same. Disclaimer: I am writing this review for one free month of coverage.
Submitted claim for pool filter on July 27th. Select Home Warranty technician came out 5 days later on 08/01. Technician submitted the diagnosis to SHW on 08/06. After 27 phone calls to customer service, I decided to have the filter changed myself at a cost of $1,235.00 at the suggestion of several "customer service" agents and 3 supervisors. After 4 weeks of nothing but aggravation, they offered me $100.00 and said have a nice day. I cancelled the contract on the spot. Nothing but a scam company
No hot water was coming out of the water heater. We applied for a claim and it was a four day process to get the claim accepted for repair work. I received a call the very first thing in the morning and lucky for us we and the contractor were available and I got same day service.
I talked with customer service about a new claim but she kept trying to tell me the decision that was made on an old claim from July 2019. She was talking about an air conditioner claim and I was talking about a water heater claim. Finally she made a new claim for the water heater. This was confusing
I chose Select because I can use my own AC technicians that have been servicing my systems and knows the history. As long as a technician you chose is licensed and bonded, they can be used. Another warranty company I used did not have that option and the technician they sent were shady at times and not associated with a company I could verify with BBB. Haven't had to submit a claim yet, but my salesman was very informative and the contract spells out what's not covered.
WORST COMPANY FOR HOME WARRANTY COVERAGE.
Please do not get swayed by this company's sales tactics by offering cheap insurance. For the first time we switched to this company since they were 20% cheaper to their competitor. After 6 months we filed claim for A/C. After 4 weeks of run around, we were told to submit Maintenance Records and pictures of the unit that we did by next day. The company could not find an A/C repair company for 6 weeks. Who so ever they picked refused to work for them.
They asked same pictures and same maintenance records three times.
Horrible company. We made a mistake to pay one year premium upfront. They do not refund your money either.

All they do is lie to keep from replacing an item that need replacing. They didn't replace my a. C unit, because they lied and said. It was due from an electrical problem which was not true. My other a. C need to be fix. This time, they saying I have a freon leak, which is not true. They will lie and add in their notes something that's not cover to keep from replacing the item. I will be sending my complaint to the office in Austin, Tx. If anyone had or have a complaint about SHW call this number *******049 or email them. Enough is enough
I am new to purchasing home warranties and family/friends recommended that I use one for a new home I am purchasing. After reviewing online other home warranty services, my friends recommended that I try Select Home Warranty. The site was simple and straight forward with their plans and additional coverage options just what I needed. The sales representative was friendly and informative.
The people was polite and nice taking the report. Your tech. Quonset Bryson was very professional and nice he told me about the compressor and I was also there when he called you. So I would know what was stated by him.
This company will take your money and do everything they can NOT to pay your claim.
They lie to you and are probably the best ag saying "I'm sorry".
Don't waste your money with this home warranty company.

I called to renew my coverage and 3 minutes later i was good to go. Had all my info up and ready to go when i called. Quick and very fast. No pressure to add items on i did not need. I will continue renewing with Select home warranty

We were concerned because our old home warrantees expired in different months. We did not want to have policy lapses but still wanted to get multiple home discounts if we switched. Agent was very helpful allowing us to schedule or new coverage dates to match or old expiration dates and still get all available credits and discounts.
No contractors will do work for this company. If you pay for the work out of pocket it is difficult to receive reimbursement. SHW does everything possible to not reimburse. There are also low reimbursement amounts that are not advertised, but are in the small print. Not worth the money.
Select Home Warranty offers a cheaper price than other home warranty companies. The service call fee is even one of the cheapest. One recommendation for the company is to make sure that the information on file is correct. For example: I renewed my policy and when I called back to ask a question regarding the policy, a representative said he saw a note that I "refused to renew my policy". I explained that I had indeed renewed the policy and that the notes were incorrect. It's things such as this that need to be corrected. I have also had issues with having to resend documents multiple times in the past because I was told they did not receive the document/documents.

Answer: After filing 5 claims, and one tech that wanted to pad his pocket resulting in me fixing my own leak in a toilet at my expense after paying their tech. And another tech wanting to get my pool setup for summer at150. More than I already gave for deductible she didn't fix my pump or water line to my pool. Both denied by select home Warrenty. And 3 more that I paid their techs for then had to fix it myself. Now my freezers compressor is out and they took money out of my bank account without my permission after saying they would go ahead and fix the freezer well guess what they declined it. And said it wasn't covered when in the contract it says it is. List all meat and others because of 3 weeks if waiting for them
