I purchased a whirlpool dryer from the Sears outlet in Nashville on Thompson Lane it had a malfunction and they let me come and pick out a new one and deliver it at NO Charge! And the gentleman set my dryer up as well and did a great job I am one HAPPY Customer and the Customer service from these Lovely Ladies was AWESOME! Over All they was able to resolve my issue!
New dishwasher is sitting in my garage. I paid for installation. The DW was delivered by two guys who ARE NOT PLUMBERS, and could not deal with a stuck hot water valve; hey, the DW has been in use for 15 years, the faucet's probably never been closed. I'm not surprised it's stuck, and surely this can't be that uncommon? Well, the "not plumbers" gave up (after I showed them how to turn the water off in my house) after making a bit of a mess. Am now paying much more to a highly reputable company to get the thing installed tomorrow. I do not recommend searsOutlet/American freight.
Had great customer service on phone. I ordered a glass top range online and called after to confirm I could pick up (local store scratch/dent item). No problem. Arrived and inspected and seemed ok. Got it home and next day in the daylight I started to realize it was pretty beat up - well beyond the dented drawer handle that was advertised. The drawer was all screwed up and as I began taking it apart to fix it (which required a good amount of hammering) - I saw the caster locations were all bent up and it was impossible to adjust them to level the unit. Also found a 2" Long crack In glass top caused by missing foam sealer section on the edge of the glass. No idea if it happened intransit or was like that as it's hard to initially see. But if it happened on the way home it was inevitable. They try so hard to sell you the extra sears insurance policy and I'd believe that's because a lot of this "floor model" / "dented" item equipment often has more wrong with it than meets the eye.
Also bought a washer/Dryer while there that was a floor model' and in getting it the house realized there was water in it and dryer lint in the pipe and all over the lint filter. Haven't tried it yet but worried now it was a return and is broken. Def not a floor model - bs.
Next time I'd skip the scratch Nd dent discount and buy new. Less worry, less hassle, arrives in good condition in a box with a manual.
Also ridiculous that they don't provide any info on the stuff in the store - model #, features, etc. just seems super scammy overall and sales people were mostly clueless about items.
Purchased a "floor model" (i. E. open box, no damage, brand new) dishwasher online, pick up from Portland Oregon store. The store says they ONLY have 'scratch and dents', and admit the website is misleading.
Dishwasher looks pretty good, there is a slight inconspicuous dent, so I take it home. Sure enough, the frame is bent (almost impossible to tell until you install it) and the unit leaks like a sieve at the (non) seal between the door and the chassis.
There is no repair or replacement option, just uninstall and return to store for refund. Lots of trouble for no gain.
Sears Outlet website (corporate) has no shame.
Having said all this, there are bargains to be had at the Sears Outlet store, in person, if you are knowledgeable and keenly aware. The store is full of appliances, and with time and attention you can sift out the bargain pearls (good pricing, no obvious defects) from the crowd of damaged and suspect units. If you see bent frames, stay away, for example. Unless you can un-bend the frame without compromising function or performance, in which case you can buy a 'good as new' unit for the price of a damaged unit. You are taking a chance in the hopes of scoring a bargain, and it is better to being home an appliance which fails immediately rather than one which works just long enough to outlast the return window.
P.S. I returned my dishwasher, and instead of asking for a refund I rummaged through a dozen or more models before I found one worth taking home, and the good folks at the store gave me an extra 10% discount.
Finally after better part of 4 weeks I got a call in which party asked me if I still wanted tool box. I explained about the delay in picking up was due to no one informing me that it had been delivered to store for me to pickup. Shame of it is that Sears in the past had been a great store.
Ordered and paid for tool box 7/29/19. Here it is 8/20. Never got notified about it being delivered to store where I could pickup. Still waiting after calling customer service and no response.
I bought a new washer, which they dented up on delivery. I complained to them about it, but was told it was not their responsibility of the delivery, since it was a third party service, not theirs. I didn't hire the delivery company, I made a purchase and I PAID for delivery to THEM!
