“I never received my scrapping order from this site...”

Catherine J.
12/8/12

I never received my scrapping order from this site & initially had extremely good contact w/ the owners. I was advised they had contacted the PO, who told them it had been delivered and as far as they (the PO) were concerned, the matter was closed. The package was then returned to S/F/L by the PO, saying it was never claimed. Well, of course it was never claimed, I didnt get it! I also didnt get anything from the PO/my apartment complex advising I had a package to pick up. S/F/L replied with the following to me via email: (the parentheses are mine) "The document below is what the USPS sent me. It shows that the package was delivered to your zip code (just the zip code?) on November 10th at 11:45 in the morning. I spoke to someone today at the PO and they suggested that you may need to talk to your local post office or your complex to see if they have any incite (sic) as to where your package ended up. We have not received it back, nor is there any indication from USPS that it was sent back. The post office that they gave me is: North ridge Post office on High tower Trail. Perhaps they can find our where it went or help you place a claim. I am sorry, there is no more that I can do. (WHAT? There's LOTS of things you can do! Resend my items, for one!) ScrapBooking-For-Less" Then, last week I received a happy email from S/F/L telling me they had gotten my items returned to them & would be resending it to me. I said in my reply that I TOLD them I never got it & this is what was emailed back to me, verbatim ~ "I did not accuse you of not getting your package. The tracking indicated that the package had been delivered. I spent a good amount of time emailing and speaking to the post office about this situation (I appreciate that, ma'am. However, I'm sure that's in your job description). They told me that it had been delivered and as far as they were concerned, the matter was closed. From that, I do not know how it made its way back to us, indicating that it was never claimed, as you can see from the pictures that I sent you." "With that said, you have given me the same address that it was sent to before. Will your complex receive it this time, or will it get lost again? We will be shipping this back to you *at our expense* (Well duh, why should *I* have to pay for something I never got in the first place?) but this is likely to happen again." (Not if there's signature confirmation/whatever put in place, it won't) "After considering this, we do not feel comfortable re-sending this order, in the event that it may not get to you again, and so we have decided to cancel the order and refund it in full. You will see this refund within the next two weeks." (To be completely fair, I received my refund from them within 3 days) During this 3 week fiasco emailing back & forth ~ and again, let me reiterate ~ they were EXTREMELY nice initially; I was never offered the same items to be resent to me (*I* asked about this and DID offer to pay for it!), while the business determined what happened to my wayward package, or a refund. Then I receive the above email that says they're sending my items again, & in the next sentence, they're not. Huh? I really didnt want a refund. I wanted (& still DO) my scrapping things. It was a $22 order; I don't think sending out another order to me with signature confirmation or thru FedEx/UPS would have sent them careening into bankruptcy. I also have the email where I advised them if I received the original order I would mail it back to them..."at my expense", I might add. I'm sad & upset. I try really hard to support the smaller indy stores, but I of course won't be ordering from them again.
