If you want to get your high school diploma, so you can go to college, don't get it from this school. The colleges I applied to did not want a diploma from this school. I need a degree to get into college but I can't do it from here. Many dollars wasted. I have a child and need to make more money and all this company did was make me more broke
This is a BS place do not waste your money. I paid money to become a teachers aide and I can complete a course faster than it takes for my packets to come in the mail! What school doesn't offer UPS or Priority Shipping? I even offered to pay for UPS out of my own pocket. They said no. They like to state to me each time that your packets have been mailed out but thats a lie. This last packet took 15 days to get to my house. This is a crappy school. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!
I registered my son for a class However he was not able to do it so I decided to ask if I could exchange for a class for myself but the woman in admissions was so rude she didn't let me explain it to her it's almost like is was in a hurry and didn't want to give me any of her time I'm so disappointed with this school and don't recommend it to anyone
This course is fake! You are "told" about the career, not about programming for a game. I paid $400.
They are only for the money.
The programs are worth nothing. If you sign for their program you owe them the full amount even if you see that the course is useless.Be careful!?
I took the sewing and dressmaking course and completed all of the 5 modules for it. It's easy enough to self study but it's extremely dated. Only 2/3rds of the material is applicable and that's being generous. If I wasn't taking this course for recreation I'd ask for a refund. The 4th and fifth module is virtually useless. The material is so old they reference the yellow pages and old market info like department stores and things of that nature. The first three modules have useful info on sewing terms and learning about fabrics so it's worth it if you're looking for an intro to those terms but honestly the rest of it is pretty much useless in the current market. Especially when it comes to their suggestions about fashion and business. There's also a section on interior design which seems like it's misplaced. There's no need to insert that into this course aside from suggesting how to sew a pair of curtains and even then there could've been a pattern and suggested styles for different curtains. There's just no need to know the different types of chairs and interior design styles especially when they're so outdated. Honestly not worth the money but a good introduction. I kept the course and finished it just to keep the first part of the book with the terms and sewing tips. Even then the tips aren't easy to follow since you're just reading how to sew from a book there aren't any good follow step by step rules if you're a beginner. You have to have sewn before and followed sewing directions before to understand. Either that or you need to reference the book every step of the way. You're better off watching the free youtube videos on how to sew bags and simple clothes. They'll introduce the fabric and sewing terms in a way more digestible format than this book or course ever does. The questions on the test are also word for word from the book so it's easy to get good grades but you're just memorizing material and not actually learning anything unless you learn by memorization and reading... This course should be $100 and not $500. Save your money and spend it on practice fabric.
I'm currently taking their creative writing program and have had no problems with them now or previously when I took their high school diploma course.
I enrolled in a 4 module course. Half way through I found out module 3 did not even exist. They still wanted payments though.
Based off of what I have read, it sounds like a lot of people thought that this would be an easy, cheap way to earn an education.
Though the Institute has lower prices than a full college would, I have had a great experience thus far.
It is at your own pace, they do expect monthly payments (which is disclosed before making your first payment), you must finish your payments before you get your diploma (again, disclosed and fair), and they expect you to keep a good standing GPA.
A lot of these people writing reviews can't even form a complete, gramatically proper sentence. It sounds like they didn't fully read through the guidelines disclosed BEFORE your first payment is ever due.
Please read the full description when signing up for SCI. They were very thorough, the customer service has always been helpful for me, and the option to contact a professor is always there. Yes, they send you course material that you must study and then test on. Yes, you have to wait for it to arrive. However, they automatically ship out your materials once you've finished part of a module, which is super convenient. Yes, you may have to wait a few days for it to be delivered (patience is a virtue you need to learn anyways). They even provide you tracking information though, so it is never a surprise.
Again, I do not understand why so many people have felt the need to write bad reviews when most of the concepts they are complaining about are self inflicted.
Thank you SCI. I hope to finish my course soon! I have used it to begin my own company, which has already been successful without my diploma in hand yet.
After recieving my booklets it is apparent this is a scam. Google can do a better job. When I didn't even start the course and tried to cancel they expected the course in full. Buyer beware.
My experiences with Stratford Career Institute have ALWAYS been great. In the past I have taken 3 courses with them: 1. Creative Writing. 2. Security/Police Sciences. 3. High School. I just enrolled for their Medical Billing Specialist course. I chose to get my books in the mail instead of totally online. I do extensive personal homework about anything that involves paying out my money for. I have always known that Stratford Career Institute is NOT accredited. I have chosen to take courses with them anyway. My goal is ALWAYS to learn more about the specific course subject. I know not to entirely depend on my diplomas to help me to get a job & etc. I have also earned a regular accredited college degree which is great for actual hands - on experience. Accredited colleges are important but are much more expensive & leads to student loan/s debt. Stratford Career Institute has always genuinely cared about me & my success in the course I choose, & is much more affordable. I graduated with an Associate's degree in the Medical Administrative Assistant program at my local accredited college. Because I have forgotten A LOT of what I learned at my local college, I decided to enroll in Stratford's Medical Billing Specialist course. It does NOT bother me that Stratford Career Institute is NOT accredited because I am simply needing to refresh & update things I learned in the Medical Office field. My advice is: Do your homework & decide if Stratford Career Institute works for you. I am looking forward to getting my books (which they ship out to you as you progress through your course, unless you decide to do your course online). I am looking forward to having another great learning experience with Stratford Career Institute too!

Waste of money. Not a real useable diploma. All fake. Couldn't get in to college with this. Waste of time.
