Rude as he'll and overpriced trash
July 13, 2023

They sold me a broken air conditioner. It was a heater with a fan, but the fan was broken. It was blowing hot air and I told them to just give me a working air conditioner and this girl melory was so rude. She Said no,
yelled at me when she enterted talking to me
for asking her worker "why she was staring at me like i was a problem or their she was Lil very old lady. IM pretty sure shes racist and i fel5 uncomfertable it was an old lady, nd i told dont worry about me and go back to work. As i wait for the manager." But insisted to be in my space giving me a bad look like I was a monster for asking for a new working product. I spent the last of my money to get a fan for me and my cats. Before i left i asked to test it and/or lower the price cuz i was hurting for money. They refused to lower the price or test the pr9duct they said products are tested before displaying. Then melody says they don't have to test it for you, your suppose to. I said you posted this without testing and refuse to lower the price of the broken product. Melory once again said its not her problem dismissed me. Then I left my product there and mean old meloru ended throwing it away. Least they didn't resell now they sure the item was broken.
So they get donations for free. Don't test it all the way sell it to me and now me and my family gotta struggle with heat till payday. By the wat i hada do 8 miles to get this done. Honestly worst service I ever had and meloryy does not conuct business well at all! And should have reconsider line of work to be an irs agent or dta ag3nt where having attitude and no phoilateipy This storeo show how rude these people are. It's outrageous that they claim to be for the people. But i basically got told to skrew off after being ripped off. They dont have any philanthropy in their hearts and are they for their minimum pay. Not a good selection of stuff plus the second broken item I bought out the 4 times I bought something at this establishment Zero stars for service. The 1 star for seletion

Disgrace
June 10, 2022

Foreigners arent here to give to an American like me but only take. I had a kettle position secured every holiday for 3yrs in NY full time but the last yr they just decided that they don't even know who I am despite having worked through them the year before and year before that in Long Island having three positively verified references they still decided that they we're just going to take all of my full time holiday income away regardless. It was so uncalled for, spiteful and nasty. I've barely had to visit a pantry over the years. Even though the foreigners of HRA started stealing my food allotment as soon as October came I still managed to survive without pantry for many years until April 2022. I kept going there on blank trips because they didn't have anything I was told. On my birthday the end of April, I had to pull teeth to receive chicken, fish and a block of cheese to survive. I signed up for a yellow card which would mean indoor bags of food handed to you without the violation, harassment of a street outside line that hadn't existed there as far as I knew. They have surplus distribution days too and on those days I can see that the types of foreigners of HRA had taken over to be as nasty and rude as they always were with spitefully denying Americans their needs on state democracy levels. They'd quickly pack up all of the cantaloupe and pineapple and watermelon with other fruits to store away for themselves. Meanwhile not only am I not receiving my needed bi-weekly pandemic food allotment since October despite having had provided the evidences of being eligible for that and so much more assistance that Albany funds millions for someone like me to receive, but by May these people also managed to be able to steal away the biweekly cash assistance allotment of $91.50's, closing my reduced transit fare card and medicaid down so I'm really struggling way harder now with rent, bills, credit, food, hygiene, household etc... but at least I have my Salvation Army yellow card appointment for early June, right? Maybe some of those stolen fresh fruits might get provided then on my assigned time instead of me trying to get them on a street surplus day. Between 10am and 12pm I'll get to go on my assigned day to receive some nourishment to survive off of from the inside of the building where Charlene whose over it all knows not to call me out my name unprofessionally. No such thing anymore. The foreign crooks took over. They want a line waiting hours outside their building before 8am. By the time that I walk up at 11am their will be a cart of chicken and an orange bag of canned vegetables that I would've just settled for having to deal with while they've set up shop on the sidewalk but they are all unprofessionally, loud and rude, ignorantly speaking or chanting incoherent un-American belligerent noise in a situation of foreign thief like animals providing a scheme that I shouldn't have to be entrapped into. I was called out my name upon walking up and when I told the female who takes joy and pride in putting a signature to many names on a paper in front of her to not call me out my name then I'm accused of being wrong in some way. Theirs nothing wrong about walking up, asking if this table is for the yellow group and then informing her to not call me whatever she wants to unprofessionally call me. I crossed out the date for the month on the yellow card and she's upset enough to preach that it would be her job to cross out the date for the month on my card. My name is plain as day clear on the card for her to view since she wants to sign my signature for me on her paper but since she's called me a sexually harassing term already I don't want to be mistakenly touched along with it so I held my name up for her as she's trying to preach to me while accusing me of being arrogant when Im simply not being someone that she can play with the way that she would like to and that's the reason to deny me food on that day because she's important enough to tell Americans to starve after all of their rightful food has been stolen by one of them who's on an evil, hateful, offender powertrip. No one should have to deal with any such violations from any of them. I don't care to have a conversation on why this isn't okay and that isn't okay. I was just there unfortunately after having had been robbed by all of them this was supposed to be a means of survival. That chicken wouldn't of been worth anything at all to me because my rights is worth so much more. They are actually looking really foolish in all of my recordings staring directly at me obviously intending on being a sabotage to me. People without ill will or intent doesn't have time at all to look the way that I have been capturing all of them looking in my direction. Since I'm only a professional business person and have no business with them, without my camera on record I wldve never knew exactly how much they are going out of their way to be a problem. Those split seconds tells it all from all of them. Do you know what else is obvious? Evidently they steal all of your application information to publicly post on the web all of your prior addresses that you list without your consent. Who wants to be tied to 17 homeless years? I was obviously a victim in oppression.

Thank God for the Salvos?
May 11, 2015

Australian Salvation Op Shops are a money making corporate stragegising greedy insipid organisation that over charges with one store manager on the payroll and the rest of the stores and depots labour work tirelessly as volunteers primarily coming from lower socio economic or poverty line demographics.
Ive volunteered for various church organisations over the years. And been homeless in the past on occasion and while the Salvation Army DO service the community the poor staff at the counter (and as a general observed rule) only the first few of the improverish are given numbers with the rest being turned away.
It's no secret that the Australian Liberal Government are cutting funding everywhere and of all the charitable organisations the Salvation Army are hardly in a position to adequately rationalise the new hard line paradigm when it comes to servicing their community which fundamentally one of their primary reasons for existence. Volunteers at the coal face apologise and the shop staff volunteers always most courteous and generous of heart and spirit... but it is illogical that cost cutting measures affect the lower ranked paid workers and the needy who for whatever reason are turned away hungry. They are given lists of equally stretched organisations scattered all over the place no transport and a realistic outcome of a waste of time and energy a hungry family cannot afford to waste. Impractical... Saint Vincent De Paul are a charity one can ring and in two days they have two kind nonjudgemental workers coming to ones home to chat and give vouchers to accomodate immediate needs and referrals for all else is practical and not simple lipservice according to whatever the latest word is from paid management upstairs.
I occasionally scrap for metal and hard rubbish people throw on their curbs. It gets me by and its an honest life. I give much to smaller churches and organisations because when the Salvos cant sell items or they dont look saleable they are thrown in large bins outside for garbage collection.
I once and for two years worked as a truckies offsider with the Salvos. Collection larger donations from homes and deceased estates. All good condition working order white goods were immediately bound for the tip. We once spent a whole day removing a hoarders penchant for collecting books to fill the truck
Afterwards we drove to the dump and threw them away as though a corporation with highly paid executives could not afford to pallet them all up then fly them to countries in need of education... it does not serve their bottom line.
The local shop must have caught wind of people finding use for items and books so they have taken to smashing all crockery cups plates etc ripping covers from all books including atlases dictionaries all manner or beautiful books. To me. This is greed. It is cruel. It is insulting and offensive. Some poor still watch vhs videos on antiquated recorders. Many many videos are thrown away. Now... they just throw out the covers and dispose of perfectly workable videos in a manner where no one benefits if the salvos dont earn. Ive seen goods come off the trucks and valuables sorted by paid management. Antiques and high end items... and by the time it all filters to the shop its pretty much a charity shop with charity items and a few items of actual value. All charity shops are generally very cheap. Salvstion Army stores are very expensive for the poor.
I could continue with substantial validation of my observations but take it or leave it when i recommend that... on moral grounds i encourage readers to shop and donate
Elsewhere... there are people and families
In real need in the community. The Salvation Army DO assist but their principles border on a moral destitution to which no rational humanitarian mind could ever compromise or sit by and allow it to continue unheard and out of sight.
