The mechanical design for the device to attach to the wall plate is really poor. I had to open it up to reset for lost wifi connection. The two screws in the bottom which lock the camera to the plate was so tight (due to wethering out at front door) and was impossible to unscrew to open the camera plate. I end up busting the tool and still the screw will not budge. The locking desgn is so poor that it pops semi-open and the battery lost its power without being charged for few days. This is how we lost the door bell connection. I popped it opne and was able to reset and got it working electronically but damn! I still can not unscrew the two locking screws to put it back on the front door. Try using plier but it will not grab. Hopless case. Piece of junk!

Bad customer service

No install instructions. My doors and windows have bevelled edges. Sensors can't work. Need to take them all down. Severe wall damage. They don't compensate for the damages.

My husband is a contractor and bought jobsite secured alarm kit for his work trailer which is left on jobsites. Box is very misleading in stating 24 professional monitoring. We found this out when our trailer was robbed blind last night. Alarm kit was set to armed. Took 2 hours to even send us a notification that the motion detector sensed something (thing goes off all the time in error anyway). When husband finally received this notification he check the cams and found the system offline after the guys robbed us then ripped the camera off the wall. He saw the video and manually activated the alarm. Throughout the robbery our "siren" never activated. Our property was long gone before we received any type of notification. We called ring today and were notified that in order for our "alarm" to "alarm" you have to purchase additional special sensors to actually activate an alarm. They had no worries about the fact that this product failed us horribly. Apparently the monthly fee we are paying is just for cloud space. A trail cam would be cheaper and probably function better.

Where do I begin - bought Ring doorbell last November 2017.

Suddenly, a few weeks ago, Ring stopped recording at night... as soon as sun goes down, Ring goes black and does not activate until sunlight following morning. We are on a VERY busy street corner, upwards of 40 motion detections during daylight, zero security coverage at night now!

Called Ring three times. Each time, on hold upwards of 30 minutes, had to hang up each time...

Researched on Reddit and saw many other Ring owners have no night vision, either. Its a known Ring defect. A Ring rep posted her email on the Reddit thread, so I emailed her and she answered! I thought there was hope for us yet. Well, she told me to uninstall unit, reversed polarity of wires, test Ring terminals. Did all that. No night vision!

Contacted her again and she escalated our problem to her technical department, sent me a link to make an appointment online for a personal call with Ring tech. I go to book appointment and the earliest spot available was JULY 11th! What?!

At the time of setting appointment, July 11 was two WEEKS out. I emailed Ring rep back and said, two week wait for tech help and no help from Amazon (asked for replacement, they told me no...), we have no night coverage (when crimes happen!). Told Ring lady, we are removing it and going with another company.

Garbage product, crappy customer service experience and lousy company that knows they have a malfunctioning product!

Never again. Do not buy! God forbid your Ring breaks, you are out money and get zero help.

I really don't understand how can so many ppl have issues with their rings (pro) and yet they are still in business, my replacement (yes that tells you a lot already) worked for about 4 months, then suddenly stopped working since December 20th 2017, I followed all the steps per their support who of course will blame everything in your home before admitting that the real issue is their device, replaced the power pro cable, unplug the 24VAC adapter recommended by them, reset the breakers what's next? Buy a new house?...
Another issue with their support, I've attached the picture of a multi meter reading the voltage at the ring but they don't even bother looking at it, their answer was "can you get a multi meter to check the voltage..." like really? Now I have to tell you to look at the attachment and wait up to 48 hours to get a response!
If your product is not ready don't sell it, I just feel like I lost $220 because what if they send me another replacement how long will that one last, it sickens and frustrate me.

I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH YOU PEOPLE SEVERAL TIMES TO FIX MY RING DOORBELL TO NO AVAIL.
IT WORKS SOME OF THE TIME BUT NOT OTHERS, I RECEIVE NOTICES THE NEXT DAY OF VIDEO. THIS IS A VERY POOR PRODUCT. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOUR PRODUCT TO ANYONE. THE WAIT TIME TO BE CONNECTED TO AN AGENT IS ALSO VERY POOR.

Horrible service
October 9, 2021

RING CAUSED ME TO GET CHARGED FOR FALSE ALARM. THIS IS ON TAPE RECORDED. THE SYSTEM FAILED MULITPLE TIMES "ALARMING" WHEN DOORS WERE CLOSED AND LOCKED. I WAS CALLED AND SAID "DO NOT DISPATCH" RING DISPATCHED AND POLICE CAME. JAMES RING'S REP SAID RING WOULD PAY IF I WAS CHARGED BECAUSE RING'S RECORD CLEARLY SHOWED I HAD CANCELLED THE FALSE ALARM. NOW I CANNOT GET SERVICE. AFTER HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS ON THE PHONE (NOT HYPERBOLE) I AM STILL WASTING TIME TRYING TO GET RING TO HONOR AGREEMENT AND GET SYSTEM TO WORK PROPERLY.

From love it to hate it

I bought 4 ring products over about one year time. I have the ring bell, two floodlight cams, and one spot light cam. The spot light cam was installed at my vacation home. It was great until somehow it lost connect and needed reset. I have to be there in person with my iphone in order to reset. So now, it sits there doing nothing and wait for me go there! One of floodlight cam at my home cannot get any view and not capture any motion. Only the light on and off on its own at time even I turned them off. It is only 10-15 feet from the router and strong Internet speed compare the other one that three floor ups from the Internet. Today I tried to get help! It was helpless. I was told to talk my Internet provider, or two floodlights might take too much load, so one takes the capacity of the other. I got Internet speed 266 download and almost 10 upload. More than required capacity as Ring describes. I am so upset. It is not only cost of products, I had to hire electrician to install them. I am going to return the product. I have to replace the spotlight one when I can, another waste of money.

Slow, By the time bell lets you know someone is at your door they are often gone! When do get to answer, the person at door often cant hear you! Not happy with purchase at all!

I purchased the RING doorbell. I hired a technician to install it. He found out after two hours working with RING that the transformer on my doorbell was not compatible. So I purchased the transformer RING recommended. After another two hours turns out my doorbell was not compatible. So I purchased the doorbell RING recommended. It turned out NOT to be compatible. We had to purchase another "compatible" doorbell. Then we come to find out the RING doorbell is DEFECTIVE. On Monday 2/18/19 I spent an hour on the phone AGAIN with the end promise being that my replacement doorbell would be there by Wednesday 3/20/19 only to find out that it NEVER SHIPPED! So today 3/22/19 I called and RING apologized and promised me they would EXPEDITE the shipment which now means I will not have it until 3/28/19... EASY? As far as I can see CUSTOMER SERVICE is something that RING NEEDS TO LEARN!

Ring customer service is absolutely horrible. It's obvious I'm calling a foreign country for support where they don't understand English. I'm constantly placed on hold and nothing is resolved. I call back and get a different answer. I call back a third time and I'm told the call will be escalated to another department that never responds. GREAT JOB RING FOR THE COMPLETELY USELESS SERVICE I HOPE JEFF BEZOS READS THIS RING SERVICE IS COMPLETELY USELESS.

I have a ring doorbell. It is the worst purchase I ever made. It goes off every time someone drives by my house, walks by my house, or rides a bicycle by my house. And if someone does come to my door, the video quality is so poor, they are unidentifiable. The ring company has been unhelpful. This product is "the boy who cried wolf."

I have had my ring doorbell now for almost 3 years Also another one on the front of my house also the ring time thinking I get better connection very unsatisfied with my ring doorbell and stick up camera I have nothing but problems constantly having to re-connect them slow connection and when you go to talk to someone it cuts in and out. I have talk to other people who have the same problem. When you call for support they always try to tell me its my Internet I have the highest speed Internet out there so, I really think its their problem not mine I have called numerous times over and over. Still cant seem to get it right and then when they do their little glitches work up and send you a email saying they fix the problem they dont work right again! I just dont understand they dont pick up people from my sidewalk! Only if youre right in front of the camera and yes I do have it way out for it to catch anything but when speeding cars go bye it catches that! But not on my yard or sidewalk! Its ridiculous!

Customer service is a joke, everyone is a foriener that you can barely understand, everthing is an issue called to say cant log in after phone had new screen, they then took 25 mins to eplain what i ahd already told them, then told me had to be indoors to ring the $#*!ing bell, what i two bob compant so mwish hadnt brought the piece of crap

Poor Quality

Not compatible with my door chime. In standalone mode does not work at all. Sensor does not pick up movement. Video feed is VERY SLOW and sound is terrible.

I have a ring device attached to my front door, I also have other cameras above my garage due to the ring at my door does not cover my garage area. My truck was burglarized at 3:17AM. The sheriff's department came out and documented the crime as well as taking fingerprints, long story short I tried sharing this crime caught on my other camera I uploaded onto YouTube, and because the video is not taken or shared by a ring device ring decided to remove that video although they say they are big on crime, I beleive they re only big on selling their product then they are in solving a crime, that's my two cents, and in closing, shame on you Ring for censoring videos that otherwise could help solve a crime, hope that makes you sleep better at night!
