My name is Halshack! I'm NOT here to defend the company. It appears you folks have all had a terrible experience with the company. For that I'm terribly sorry. I don't WORK for the company nor am I under any kind of monetary arrangement. I was approached by Lou Plaia the original owner and co founder of the company back in Nov 2020 asking me if wanted to be a part of their opportunities network offering radio play for their membership. I have IN FACT done that but I'm very strict about who's allowed on the show. I come from a major label background as well as my partners so we look for only the most top quality talent. II take in about 1 to 3% sometimes more of who submits. Yes there is a canned letter that goes out to all that are denied that comes through the system. I get 1000 to 2000 submissions per campaign. Ive completed 8 successful campaigns through the company and have even scored a song from a band who did a collab with Eminem and one of his close friends Swifty Mcvay with Disaster Theory all worked on a track called Overcome. That was submitted to me under Reverbnation. Ive been working with the band to promote the track on my show and radio station on ZENO FM. I also scored a collab with Gabe Lopez and Belinda Carlisle with permission to promote their track California Blues. I can assure you folks the opportunities the company offers are real. Its whether that source they networked with to provide the service goes the full length to do a good job. I get hit with 1000 to 2000 submissions per campaign. I listen to EVERY SINGLE submission every campaign but your material has to be on par with top tier label bands from all years of history. I don't take in bands or artists who don't have a commercial viable potential regardless of the genre. If you're good at what you do you make my show. So when the time runs out on the campaigns the company generates the denial letter for each campaign for each network partner. When I go to accept, I click on each artist and send them an acceptance letter typed by me along with the canned company acceptance letter. The last campaign was about 1000 artists and I took in 37. About half of those were repeats. Ive worked with the company for 3 years now. My 9th campaign with the company starts on Feb 8th. You can find all information about me and our campaigns at Halshack.com. The last 3 years since the campaigns with the company Ive brought in 330 artists, bands, rappers and more to be promoted on my podcast, radio station, music blogs, contests social networks and much more. I cant speak for the company regarding their business practices but I can attest to the fact if you submit to my show under Bandlab or Reverbnation you may have a chance of being brought into the Halshack universe but I digress its a low probability you have that commercial potential success about you but its not out of question for anyone. We have helped 40 to 70 artists per campaign over the last 3 years. You can find me anywhere on social media or my website. I'm not here to hide or duck out. Halshack is real and a growing force in the industry. I email with the company on a regular basis but only with the people who handle the campaigns. The company was bought from Lou Plaia and the other owners about 2 years ago by Bandlab in Singapore. My contacts are very real people who are good hard working individuals. Again I cant speak to what happens on the financial side. I don't work for them. I just have a very strong very credible working relationship with their Opportunities program coordinator. They feed me lots of quality radio ready talent. And Ive built a successful show and radio station because of it. Now were building a local festival company here in NC for future starting at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro with the High Rock Promotions Nitro Notes Music Fest. We are bringing in many big names to help bolster all this indie talent that has been discovered through our efforts with Reverbnation. I hope this helps some people who have questions or concerns. I'm here to help with anything I can. Hal Jester Owner, curator, host, A&R, festival promoter Halshack Indie Rockcast Halshack.com
Reverberation has allowed someone to steal my banking information and spend $270 on their services without any authorization from me. Nobody answers the phone or even responds to emails. I need to find out any information possible about who has stolen my information for a police report!

ReverbNation can help you get your fans up but that's really about it,They make you buy a plan even tho basic plans usually free theirs is 12.95 you enters contest that you never win I been there since March of last year never selected for anything yet.i eventually ended up unsubscribe which you can't do anything frfr except post and get fans. Wish this app was more affective
Paid for promotion campaigns weeks ago. Never honored. Emailed them 26 times no response. They are a dead stick.
I have recently put in numerous requests to have songs removed and they mistakely removed 1 song i made a mistake to be removed, figured out the songs i needed to be removed and requested them multiple times and also apologized twice for my mistake as it was a genuine mistake due being frustrated to the fact my personal online identity is tied to this person still as this person has caused many hardships in my life and i got away from them. Now asking for help to get these 2 songs removed only to keep getting my tickets closed with no valid reason. Im pretty frustrated with your company. If you need screen shots for proof please I will provide my inventory...
Tip for consumers:
Horrible Customer Service, was helped once with the mistake I made and never helped again. only closed continous tickets which is absolutely unprofessional.
Horrible service taking advantage of and money from musicians. Our 'free trial' wasn't free at all as we began to realize they were charging us monthly. They've taken hundreds of dollars from us for a 'free' service we barely even used. When we wrote in about it they disabled and blocked our account so that we cannot see our billing history or any interactions. Since then they've answered no emails or phone calls from us. AVOID!
They will keep charging your credit card 2-3 times a month, won't send you notices so you'll forget all about it.
I signed up for their SONG PROMOTION service and after 40 weeks got very little results.

In my opinion, Reverbnation's SONG PROMOTION SERVICE did not deliver good results. Their rebilling practices are in my view, sneaky. They should send you a monthly email giving results and rebill notices.
I really can't imagine that superstars like Imagine Dragons for example should also be present at ReverbNation (ok, I hope the guys quickly realized what frauds the Reverbnation holding are).
That was just a fake claim by ReverbNation, a very miserable marketing trick to lure unsuspecting musicians.
Otherwise, as many previous posters told again and again, I must unfortunately confirm, one is ripped off at ReverbNation as a musician only, false statistics are added. Promotion for musicians at ReverbNation? A lie, they do nothing for us. Except take our money. I'm done with ReverbNation, I don't want to deal with scammers like them any longer and I don't want to be annoyed anymore.
"Congratulations! Your music has been selected for (insert latest scam). For only $19.99, you will be CONSIDERED for blah blah blah". Please folks, don't do it. While I still have an account, I have not ONCE submitted to one of these scams, but I know some folks who have. I am constantly bombarded with this garbage. While it may be an ok site for exposure (and I mean just maybe, ok), they are only looking to bleed any penny away from every unsuspecting artist that they can. Steer clear, and gain exposure the old fashioned way. These guys are vultures with THEIR best interest in mind.
Just had 21 euro TAKEN out of my account by this company... i NEVER AGREED TO THIS, How hard it is to make a living from music at the moment... I´ve been playing 40 years, come on guys... clarity?
Reverbnation's only usefulness is as a site where you can host songs in order to share them. I noticed very early that if you submitted songs to their "opportunities" that you got the identical rejection letter regardless of whom you submitted it to. If you send them money, your name will go up their area charts and when you don't it will go down. I entered mine in an area with zero other singer songwriters and remain #1! Ha ha!
ReverbNation was charging us for a service for several years and we did not receive a single invoice or email. We discovered this and they are not refunding us the hundreds of dollars we put out and they have blocked us from our own account; denying us access to the billing history. This is a serious violation. They won't respond to emails. Be very wary of this "service". If you look at web reviews you'll see this has happened to many people.
Want to manipulate your ranking? Spend some of your money there, or, like others, have a bot army play your tunes non-stop. What a scam. "Free promotion" is hogwash shell game. Worse yet are their "professionals" who "review" your music and gush about it. You can send them a turd and they'll give it a glowing "review" because you $pent to get it. Just fake crap designed to pry money from people with high hopes.
I agree with all other that have voiced that there are constant notifications with the false pretense that you are crawling the charts with popularity... each of these ending with a request for money. Most musicians are not making much money off of this site, so it is very disturbing they they will ask for money so much. How about they provide some demographics or stats on all of these avenues that they claim will promote your band. Save your money and invest in a new guitar instead of the many ReverbNation scams
I Do Not Recommend Reverberation:
I'm a very small, Independent artist. I have a very small audience, and my music is meant for sleep, film and much more. And a handful of people actually listen to my music while they sleep! In 2019 I released a new album, that is mainly for sleep. And Reverberation terminated all my releases because apparently playing music on repeat while you sleep is "Fraudulent". I knew people played my music all night while they slept, people have told me they do this. This is stupid, Reverberation screwed me over! Because I have a small loyal audience. And I hardly got any royalties as well. So 1k streams on 11 songs in 8 months with 20 followers is fraudulent?
Small indie artists with small loyal audiences actually exist! I wish they realized this! I do not recommend Reverberation.
Tip for consumers:
Going through reverberation used to sound like a good idea until your audience starts to admire your music and stream it a lot.

After 8 years of poor promotion and escalating costs, I am finally leaving Reverbnation. The final straw was them taking an additional 30% from my pay for taxes. I am a senior citizen on a small fixed income. I only made $60 last year from Reverbnation and they took an additional 30% in taxes. The tiny amount I made doesn't even qualify for taxation. Another ripoff.
Anything that was once good about this site, is long gone. Now they send you thousands of notifications telling you how great your band is and how well it's trending and all these opportunities that you've qualified for! If, you're willing to pay them a monthly fee. Short of a landing page, don't waste your time.
If you're willing to work hard enough and put your money into your band to get anywhere with this site. You would get further without them. That money is best suited somewhere else. That hard work will do you more good somewhere else.
Curious how many other musicians have had money stolen from Reverbnation.com, and had them ignore you after you've provided the requested proof of the mystery withdrawals from your bank account. These guys stole $600+ and on proof of the discrepancy they've gone completely silent and are no longer responsive.
Does this story sound familiar to any fellow musician friends?
Let me cut to the chase. I am a retired former Major-Recording Music Industry Producer/Engineer who recently contacted ( what a joke) 'Reverbnation' by PHONE where they ( another 'joke') have a message that they'll 'return the call' ( a LIE AND a 'joke') Our Studio ( a PRO 'Sound for Film' company) who's staff has EXTENSIVE backgrounds for many decades- working with, performing with, opening for and recording MANY legendary Artists & groups- had a 'casual acquaintance' go rogue and put a BUNCH of songs ( in the idea stage and OWNED by the Studio) up on many sites. INCLUDING 'Reverbnation'. WITHOUT PERMISSION. Then? The idiot apparently abandoned the sites and we need to take them down or at the least TAKE IT OVER but it is obvious that the 'dipwads' who either run or work for RN ( or both) CAN'T be bothered to act like what they CLAIM to be.'PROFESSIONALS'. Are you people at RN serious? We deal with Legendary and Grammy Award winning Producers/Engineers, our AVERAGE age is 60 + and let me tell you... REVERBNATION as ( anyone) can see/read... is obviously NOT very well thought of- and CERTAINLY are not the 'PRO'S... they purport to be!
Waste of money and time. They do not honor their agreements ( because they bury the lies with legal jargon in the T&C) by portraying themselves as a platform for growth. I have a dozen reasons why you shouldn't use this platform. I'm going to spare you the embarrassing details about this bot run service.
Take your music anywhere but here. Better yet, tell others not too. I'm not one for blacklisting, but please don't fall victim to this company. There are definitely ethics violations and fraudulent activities taking place. Bottom line. Don't lie to artists that pay your salary. Good luck having an actual person from the company contact you. Unless it's their lawyer, refuting all your claims. Please go elsewhere! And get your music heard and appreciated by another service. Keep making music!
All this site does is ask you for money to help you climb up some imaginary "chart". Im glad I never gave them any of my money and i hope you don't either!
Their "opportunities" they send you are a scam. I was offered a recording deal by someone who wouldn't even offer me a contract to look over, wanted me to fly to NYC ALONE and pay for my own hotel and flight, on top of them keeping almost all of the profits and I had to market the album myself in order to make money. On top of that, another "opportunity" they sent me gave my computer malware when I visited the site of the "record company". I reported this via twitter and support ticket, and when I went to check the status I see they blocked my account for "fraud". If you are a serious musician do not do business with them. Use Soundcloud, or Bandcamp. You'll get more listens and better interaction.
If you are a fresh local artist with less than 5 years of experience, you can forget getting noticed and signed. It's absolute garbage. The whole purpose of sites like these if they work on the musicians behalf is to help get them noticed. "Free promotion, that they offer is hogwash and so misleading. Avoid this at all costs.
I tried them out, spent some money and had a media monitoring company follow me for a targeted campaign in my area. Not once in the week long campaign did my add show up on any local adds. Tried a Facebook campaign and their results were horrible. My same campaign produced results. When I asked about royalties I got a polite email saying they don't pay royalties. End result, I deleted my music and account and now I've filed a complaint with Socan. My music and my royalties...
I think the headlines say it all. They stole my money and then when I unsubribed from everything, they sent me a spam 30 mins later. The worst and a huge waste of my time for which karma will pay RN back!
You wont make a cent with reverbnation. They make all the money for your page views an streams. The distribution they offer is unfair and they will take all your money from all stores if 1 store happens to receive a bad online promotion, they will blame the store for it... the opportunity are fake, the ranks are fake, its pretty much a fake place for artist to fake around like something goods happening but the truth is reverbnation leeching off us artist art.
