On 2/7 I called resume writing group after doing research on affordable resume writing services. What drew me to this company, was their money back guarantee. I made a call to resume writing group to make sure I was very knowledgeable on the company and if they are able to help with my resume needs. I spoke to Ryan I informed I had been rewriting my resume numerous times and unfortunately was not able to secure any interviews. I also stated that I need my resumes to be in industry standard as my industry is forensic science/criminalistics and chemistry. I asked is this something his company will be able to do to write a strong science resume? To ensure my resume gets through to hiring managers online. I was assured he has some of the best resume writers that will be able to assist with this. The main reason also was the money back guarantee. I asked can you he give me all full details on the money back guarantee. Ryan informed me in order to get money back you will need to diligently apply for 40 job listings and have not secured employment. I stated to him I keep track of employers I applied with excel spreadsheet and how can I show I have applied? I was informed by Ryan we need to see the automated emails that you receive after applying. I made sure I wrote of this information down in my notebook because I took notes on the call. I left the call more knowledge of what is expected of me and also what they can offer me. I did not make the decision right away as I was shopping around for other resume service. Ryan called 2/9/2024 and left a message following up if I would use their services. After much consideration and going back on their site numerous times. I decided to go with resume writing group. I started my profile inputting my information and picking my services. I decided to do a coaching services because if you do not get that service you don't have the option of speaking with the person doing your resume orally. I did a service of how to market your resume and aid for the resume itself. The total came to around 269.00. I was sent information to make an appointment with a career coach. I was set up with Rita whom asked me questions which would go toward my new resume. It was a 30 minute call on 3/1 and within a day my resume was sent, I had my reservation about the resume one being that it did not look to be industry standard which I expressed though the portal and it did not also look to be interchangeable as I asked so I am able to fill out for forensic and chemistry positions. I also communicated other things that concerned me. I was informed by Rita I can change it as I pleased, which I didn't want to have to do as this is why I hired the company but she did make a few changes and I also changed it based on the job posting. I was sent my how to market myself in my email. I was very disappointed in this because it was a generic when I was under the impression that it will be an individual marketing. Once a read this is the FIRST time I seen in order to get the money back guarantee you will need to fax or certified mail 40 resumes to your job posting on top of submitting it. This contradicts what is on the front page of their sites and what I was informed by Ryan in our initial conversation. I decided to go by what was told to me and what the person sees when they are brought to front page of the site. I contact Ryan and informed him that the service for marketing is nto what I expected and expected for it to be individual based for 6.95. Ryan refunded the 6.95 based on the mishap. I also made it a point to say I feel Rita my resume writer was tentative in our discussion and nice but I do not feel comfortable with my resume. He assured me that Rita is a really good resume writer and he is sure that the resume is great and I will see success. With all of this I had not secured as much as an interview on my new resume. I was hopeful in this. I reached out to resume writing group and informed I have not received an interview on my new resume. There was then a response stating that I needed to reach out to my resume writer. I did so in my portal there was not reply. I also sent another reply in my portal stating I haven't heard back as of yet. I received a response from another individual stating they need proof of certified mail receipt and/or fax of 40 resumes sent out and an unemployment letter. This is the first I am seeing or heard anything about an unemployment letter. I don't received unemployment so there would be no such letter if so, these factors were not discussed by Ryan nor are they on their front main page that attracts customers. I informed that I should only be help liable to what was verbally told that was the point of the phone discussion before I made ANY decision. Ryan also reached out to state there may have been some confusion and showed me stating I understand the information of the 40 certified mail or fax. I replied in an email stating we had a conversation that I took notes on with you stating was told and the information that I am now getting came AFTER I paid for my services which is not fair. The point of the phone discussion with Ryan prior to me buying any services was to make sure I understood the money back guarantee. I also asked if my call could be pulled and we both listen to the call to ensure that I was told the only information needed was the automated emails stating I applied. I got no response on that question just the links to the policy in which it is hard to find and only made visible once I paid for the resume writing group. I have also sent my 40-email confirmation to the resume writing group. I asked for the address and the mail came back as this was not the correct address I sent it just as they stated in the portal when asked it was returned to sender.
