“I am not a bum due to them”

Ingvar D.

Yeah... that is a convenient place if you want to book a hotel and you didn't do that when booked flight tickets. That was me! :D I used this service because I completely forgot abou the simple thing: where I'd gonna live. I started to search various hotels here from cheap to the premium ones and found eventually the place to stay in. Booked it with a couple of taps without any serious problems. So, thanks guys, you literally helped one person not to become a bum.

“Deceiving Agents”

Jessica E.

Thought I was contacting Ramada Penticton direct and got talking with these con artists: I just wanted to inquire about rates, agent convinced me to book as there were to be no fees, full refund. Called to cancel 10 minutes later and was informed that there's a $16 service feed to cancel. The agent had read some sort of disclaimer, but read it so fast and completely unintelligible way that fell for it. Disgusted.

After posting my review, I was contacted three times by Reservations.com to try to remedy this problem. Ultimately they reduced my reservation to one night, and did refund the charges for the night I wanted to cancel. They did ask that I update my review which I am doing now.

Tip for consumers:
That this is not the hotel and that there is no refund.

Misleading processes - non-refundable reservations

I thought I was dealing with the hotel directly. Additional service fee added that I was not expecting. Then when I needed to reduce 1 night from reservation, discovered that the reservation was non-refundable, with customer service telling me it was the hotel's policy. I then called the hotel, who advised that it was not their policy at all - but that since Reservations.com charged my credit card at booking, I have to work through Reservations.com. When I called back in, the Supervisor suggested I could cancel my reservation and rebook for one night. I asked - so I get a refund by virtue of the cancellation, and then a booking for only one night? No, she was suggesting that I cancel - with them keeping the charges for two nights as non-refundable - and then rebook for one night, at an additional charge for the one night? Would not recommend Reservations.com to my worst enemy!

Tip for consumers:
Non-refundable, and might suggest actions that allow them to take more non-refundable money from you.

I inadvertently went to the website on a google search thinking I was booking directly with a hotel not knowing that I went to Reservations.com and was paying in US dollars (no indication on site - I live in Canada). I cancelled immediately when notified by my card and I noticed that I paid 1) too much for the room to begin with and 2) in US dollars. Now two things bother me, I will get a refund (hopefully soon) but will loose money in the exchange rate conversion US to CDN dollars AND you now being charged $19.99 US for the cancellation which is non-refundable which you can bet the hotel will not see and will not charge me as I have rebooked through Expedia.ca. This is dishonest. I have asked for this to be refunded too.

Thought I was on the Ramada site - thanks Google for putting these criminals on the top of my search - selected my one night stay. Get my confirmation - they billed me for 10 days at $848. Called to cancel and was told there's a $70 fee to cancel. This is on Google allowing them to look like the corporate site and putting this scam of a website on top of their search results.

I thought I was going to the Marriott site and got sent to Reservtion.com site. Unwittingly I started a reservation but did not complete it. Having made this mistake before they may have had my credit card on file but somehow a reservation was made. The charge was about $61 higher than booking with the hotel directly. And I don't get the Marriott points! It's just not practical to make reservations this way. After many emails, the billing dept. has notified me that they are refunding the full amount. Now I will wait and see if they are honest and indeed follow through with the refund.

I want to go on a mini vacation for my birthday to catalina Island California since live in California its no that far so i call the holiday Inn thinking i was talking to an agent from there so I booked a double queen room for three people for 301.01 per day × 3 days and 194.00 tax since its getting close to time of the vacation once I booked the trip that the agent tells me that he's from resevation desk. Com I was furious and I asked him to transfer me to the dept that cancel resevation he transferred me i talked to a lady name Rachel she said that they would take a fee out of the money I gave them and return the rest but than talked me into keeping the resevation and giving them a chance this was on August 13th today I called the holiday inn to check on the resevation when I did the two queen size bed for 3 occupants where now aa standard size bed with 2 occupants i immediately called reservation. Com back to cancel i spoke to Alex who left me on hold for 45 mins while I was at work after he found out I wanted to cancel I hung up and called again I than spoke to Jose whom seem sympathetic to what I was going thru he also left me on the line for an hour nothing was resolved because they didn't want me to cancel I want my money back plus my birthday is coming up fast and now I'm out of alot of money for something I didn't reserve

Original post:
I made a reservation, made a mistake. TWo seconds later they wouldn't change the reservation. Help me? Zero "nada, nothing. Then they charge on top of what the hotel charges. Use any other travel service they're cheaper and provide service. Fees for doing nothing. But I called him on it deny deny.

Charge me $15 on top of $100 reservation
3/28/19 update
They canceled the charges on my credit card and cancel the double booking. This resolves my concerns. Loss? Time and peace of mind.

9/30/2018 I made a non refundable hotel reservation through this site. But there was no immediate reference number, confirmation number, or follow up email like there normally is. After many emails & calls through 10/1 & 2 still nothing then after a call to them on 10/2/2018 later in the day, in which they STILL don't know anything... I had barely hung up the phone when I get an email. They found it. My last name was spelled wrong even though I had her repeat it back to me more than once.
That was a fun couple of days won't EVER be going back to them. Ever. Might get to sleep tonight

The rates for this hotel service is ridiculous. With the price of the hotel reservation.com fees and the taxes I ended up paying double for one room. I reserve the room online before with the same hotel through booking.com and only paid the price of the hotel room for now on I will be using booking.com. Because even with trying to get the issue resolved customer service is horrible The only thing they told me was there is no refund on rooms

I've stayed at this hotel plenty of times but this time wasn't so good, I checked in and we I went to my room the door was wide open and someone was doing something in there I asked to change rooms since they were working in it the man at the front desk said no so I kept the room then when we get in the room it has a burning smell in it, and the one bed had some type of stain on the pillow. My fiancé said we are never staying there again.

Hotel booked was closed due pandemic yet my request for fee waiver was denied. Also required multiple calls over multiple days to get through to get commitment to credit my credit card (still not credited). Unable to get this done on line. Also they should have done this without any request/hassle on my part. Why do I feel like I'm wasting my time posting?

Hotel has been renovated but still dated. It has Sleep Number beds which I found interesting. I would not go back. It was cheap. It is pet friendly and the room across the hall had flees. YUCK! I couldn't get that out of my head. Had I not heard that tidbit over breakfast, I might not have been so alarmed. They have those lights that kill germs. Dehumidifier things plugged into the hallways. I'd pay more to not be freaked out that I will get bed bugs or flees.

I read that there is a low price guarantee and I sent the lower price to reservations.com, but I haven't heard back from them on reducing the price. I didn't like that they didn't include taxes and fees in their quoted price, so when I thought I was spending about $130 it was actually closer to $180. I'm not a happy camper. The other sites I've used in the past include those fees. The checkout process somewhat hid the total in my mind. Be careful when using Reservations.com.

The hotel was nice but I thought I was booking directly with the hotel. It turns out I did not... I booked with Reservations.com. When I checked out the hotel gave me a bill that charged $188 to my credit card. Reservations.com charged me $270. Fine, I can understand the $15 booking fee (a fee for my mistake) but where did the other $67 go? Humm...

On 11/30/2017 I wrote that Reservations.com scammed me like many others that have written a review. PLEASE NOTE... I continued to followed up with "Reservations.com" and after many emails they decided to do the right thing and refund my money. Persistence Pays. Now I am looking for the credit on my statement.
Again... I have been calling direct to the motels and been getting a better price. Always check online first, then make the call and use the best pricing you found online... and offer a little less. Better pricing... and refundable should you need to change your plans. Good luck.

It looks good from the outside but I would highly recommend another place. I had to change my room because of the roaches. My oldest has allergies and asthma with that said, she is allergic to roaches set her off, so that would have set her off to go to the emergency room.

Update.
We got our full refund. Costumer service emailed after this post. Still not sure why I never got any others on any emails.

First post
I made reservations using this site for the Tropicana. They sai they would email me the info but never did. They charged me right away. I called back and asked for the reservation to be resent. We tried different emails and nothing. Finally we got fed up and cancelled. It's going to take to get us our refund. They are trying to take out booking fees without telling us. Never use.

My work schedule was modified; by internet and by phone with your support, it was impossible to modify my days or exchange my no used days to another work travel.
So your poor services forced me to pay for a 2 weeks of work travel even if I used only 4 days because cancellation from my client.
I will probably don't use your services again and I will not recommend you.

I thought I had booked through the hotel and didn't know that I would be charged an additional $14 fee for managing the reservation. I gave two stars because they did refund my room when I talked with the hotel and the hotel agreed to refund the amount. The original room price was $83 and after their charges, the room price was $130.95.

I am going to Alaska on a tour, and wanted to book an extra night at the first hotel we will be at. I looked up the hotel online, and thinking I had the phone number for the actual hotel, called them so I could try to arrange staying in the same room on the tour as on the extra night. Little did I know that I had actually reached reservations.com. I had a difficult time understanding the representative (my first clue I probably wasn't talking to an Alaskan person), but he assured me that he wrote notes about what I wanted and why on the reservation. When he quoted me the final price, I asked why it was almost $50 more than what I was seeing online for the exact same room. He said there were fees and taxes, and that when I saw the confirmation email, it would be detailed in there. (Online the extra fees amount to about $13 of room tax, and that was all.) I was upset about the added fees/taxes, but he told me the online rate was no longer available. I booked the room, and after I got off the phone I booked the online one at the cheaper rate (it WAS still available!) When I got the confirmation email, I saw that there was a $14.99 service charge that was nonrefundable. The man on the phone never said anything about this fee - he said the entire payment would be refundable. I called reservations.com, got the reservation cancelled, and asked to speak to a manager about the service fee, which they said they would not refund. I was told I was going to get a call back from a manager - it never happened. I then emailed customer service, got a quick reply that they'd get back to me, and then another reply a few hours later saying they would refund everything but the service fee of $14.99. I said that was not acceptable, that the rep had never told me about it, and I hoped that they would want me to be a satisfied customer and would do what was right. The next day I got an email that said the service fee WOULD be refunded, and the $14.99 credit was posted to my credit card the next day. For me, it wasn't about the $14.99 - it was about the principle of the thing - they never told me about it, so it was underhanded that they would say they could keep it. They did, however, come through at the end, and for that I am grateful. I read many of the negative reviews on this site before I contacted them via email, and I thought my case was doomed, but they did the right thing, thanks in large part to my persistence. I encourage other travelers to do the same if they get in this situation. Remain calm and polite and state the facts, but stand your ground and fight for what you know is right. Good luck to others!
