I'm an extensive business traveler, almost every week I'm on the road. Both US and international travel. I had to book a business trip to Hong Kong and there was a particular hotel I needed to stay in. I did not realize that the site redirected me to Reservations.com. Once booked I realized they charged for everything upfront and it was non-reimbursable. Unfortunately my dad had heart surgery and I had to cancel my trip to be with him. The documents from the hospital are in Spanish. I had to prove to reservations.com that this was indeed a health situation but they wouldn't take my documents because they were not translated to English. Bottom line, they kept all the money and had no respect to what the customer was going through.
Does not clearly inform nor confirm that you will not be able to reserve not charge credit card and then when asked for them to change it to reserve the refuse and refuse to cancel and say they will cancel and keep your money. In other words they scam you out of your money and charge you fees hold onto your funds getting interest off of it and all the while belittling you and trying to claim it's your fault because you should searched site for details. It's okay for them to do business this way trying to take advantage of your good faith and general understanding of making reservations any other way, website or time. I've been making reservations on line for many years never have I been treated so callously by a company. Never even apologized, just make you feel like your an idiot for choosing their site
Booked a rooms at a price of $306. Told it was non-refundable, to which I agreed.
Follows with e-mail confirmation with additional $64.00 in extra fees.
I have to pay fees or loose the $306.
Very clever thievery. Be warned!
Deal with hotel directly.
SO AWFUL! They are crooks. STAY AWAY! They state over the phone and on the "confirmation email" that you have 2 days to cancel your reservation. We called back to cancel the reservation 10 minutes after we made the reservation because it was evident from the "confirmation email" we received from reservations.com that they were a scam company. The women from reservations.com said that she couldn't cancel and refund our money because we had to cancel by 3:00 PM that same day to get a refund. Besides the fact that they clearly stated on the phone and in the "confirmation email" that we had two days to cancel, we made the reservation at 10 PM that night so cancelling it by 3 PM that day before we even knew we were going to travel would have been impossible. How do they sleep at night?
Charged a non refundable booking fee. I was not aware of this. I had to cancel my reservation. They refunded my money but made me pay the 69.$ fee. They will not give it back to me. I booked because I had the option to cancel my reservation if I needed to. Why would I agree to a non refundable booking fee? Steal, Cheat, You should be shut Down!
After posting my review, I was contacted three times by Reservations.com to try to remedy this problem. Ultimately they reduced my reservation to one night, and did refund the charges for the night I wanted to cancel. They did ask that I update my review which I am doing now.
I thought I was dealing with the hotel directly. Additional service fee added that I was not expecting. Then when I needed to reduce 1 night from reservation, discovered that the reservation was non-refundable, with customer service telling me it was the hotel's policy. I then called the hotel, who advised that it was not their policy at all - but that since Reservations.com charged my credit card at booking, I have to work through Reservations.com. When I called back in, the Supervisor suggested I could cancel my reservation and rebook for one night. I asked - so I get a refund by virtue of the cancellation, and then a booking for only one night? No, she was suggesting that I cancel - with them keeping the charges for two nights as non-refundable - and then rebook for one night, at an additional charge for the one night? Would not recommend Reservations.com to my worst enemy!
If the option were available to give less than one star, I would. In a phone call to a customer service agent, the agent hung up while an attempt was made to explain an error that completed a reservation that was not wanted. Admittedly it was customer error to even start the online reservation, but the attempt was made to cancel what had been started - before charges were placed on the credit card. But, in spite of the attempt to cancel by closing all open windows, the reservation was competed and charges immeditely actioned. The contact with the service agent was within minutes, who refused to consider any option for cancellation - then hung up. Inconsiderate and/or impolite would be an understatement.
I booked a reservation with them but they did not inform me that it was an additional 19.99 on top and I made 2 reservations. So I did not find this information out until they sent me a confirmation email. If I would have known that I would have booked with them and will never use them again in life
I made a reservation with these guys and had to cancel because of loss of flight/covid cancellation. The room was approx. 165 for one night, these stiffs charged me 146 dollars for a "cancellation fee" off season. Beware what you click on, some people get ten years in the pen for stealing a pack of smokes out of a convenience store, these carpetbagging cats just do this on a regular basis
I made a mistake by accidentally reserving a hotel room in the wrong state! This error was not discovered until a month later when we tried to check into the intended hotel in a completely different state. OOPS! Upon discovering the error, we paid for another reservation at the correct hotel.
A few days later (after returning home from our visit), I reached out to the customer service agents of Reservations.com who promptly explained the process and possibility of a refund... and exactly who to contact at the mistake hotel. With the cooperation of the manager of the mistake hotel, arrangements were made for a full refund of the mistaken charges. Nicely done on both the part of Reservations.com and the hotels. I am impressed with the professionalism and helpful attitude of your agents. I will be using you again... and be more careful to look at the state in which I am planning to stay.
Thought I was booking with Fairmont Hotel this header was at the top "Book Now"
I got a quote and immediately realized it wan not the Fairmont because it was so unprofessional. The rate was really great so I booked it. Asked the person to let me take a look at the booking email to see if I had questions and she hung up! Surprised when I looked at the price it was much more than quoted! Couldn't even get a breakdown of fees…it was over $200! Reached out to get a resolution and actually got a call back. Called several more times and nothing back within a weeks time. There were other hassles I don't even want to get into.
We went to our credit card and stopped the transaction. Bad place to do business
We had a real serious cleanliness problem with a hotel where we had made two separate room reservations for three nights as we traveled with family members. We arrived late at 1:00am and had to check out the next morning to find a clean room. As we traveled together, we obviously checked out together. The Hotel made good on our room but charged three days on the second room even though the manager promised they would waive the three day prepaid stay and would only charge for one night. When I asked Reservations.com to intercede they sided with the Hotel who "conveniently avoided their promise" and would not issue a refund for two nights. Now I have to assert a claim through the credit card company and, possibly, the court system. Very poor.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They have no heart or soul and do not care about customer care. We reserved a room which we thought was through the hotel that we booked. As a result of our first grandchild dying during childbirth we did not feel it was appropriate to travel so we contacted the hotel and they canceled our reservation without issue. Reservations would not refund my $1,235.61. After contacting them they referred me to the accounting department who sent a letter stating there would be no further contact. They kept all my money without providing any service. They also discuise the site to make you think it is affiliated with the Hotel which they are not. Very deceptive. Do not use this company.
I would just like to say how disappointed I was to arrive at my hotel, with reservation in hand, only to be told I didn't have a room available. The hotel told me to call my third party booking and take it up with them. I was put on hold for 35 minutes with reservations.com customer support, only to disconnected. When I retried the phone number, they put me back on hold for another 25 minutes before finally telling me that the only thing they could do was refund my money and it would take 7-10 days. I cam tell you that they charged my credit card immediately, so I don't see why they can't immediately refund my money. Disappointed all around. Never booking through them again!
DO NOT use them! They sell you a Porsche dream with a Toyota price when you get there you get a Pontiac from 1988 that doesn't run. When you try to get your refund you get scammed! Told I would receive my money back - still waiting!
This company is criminal. I made a $878 dollar mistake, clicked when I shouldn't. I called within minutes of the reservation being made. I wanted to upgrade but, nope pay the full amount. Their cancelation fees are the full amount. My husband let them know we would dispute the charge on my card and fight it out with them. Never would recommend them, and there should be a class action lawsuit against them. They are a predatory company, only in it for the money. They sucks!
When I made my reservation I did not realize I was using a third party. I don't need to book with them when I can make the reservation direct with the hotel. Then they charged me that $14.99. What a rip off. Don't use these people.
They claim they are the hotel you think your calling. Even when asking if this is specific hotel they say yes. Do not make reservations unless you call hotel direct, which they claimed it was. Its actually a third party sale with extra fees added on. Once I realized this i tried to cancel and they claimed i reconfirmed so I could not cancel and they said nonrefundable. I had to report to my credit card company about the fraud to stop payment. It is such a mess wasting alot of time because of these scam artists!
I received an email confirmation stating the total amount my card would be charged including taxes and fees. Thank God Discover emails me when shady charges come through because reservations.com overcharged me by $215 more than the price per the email confirmation. When I called, Liz the supervisor stated that there was a "system glitch" and that the amount per the email was wrong. She said she would credit the $215, but I cancelled the entire reservation and reserved through the hotel directly. Shady shady shady!
Although you pay extra to be able to change your reservation, when you call in, their system does not allow for this type of service. They must cancel the reservation and then rebook. The issue is if the hotel is fully booked, you lose your reservation. Overall rating for customer service is ZERO (but I could not select no stars). This is a money grabber. Being in the customer experience industry, this is unacceptable.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
