Good Service, Bad Delays
September 26, 2017

I ordered a T-shirt from Represent on the 21st of August, which was supposed to be printed after the campaign the shirt was funding ended on the 31st, and to be shipped on the 15th of September. It wasn't until the 20th of September that I was notified that there would be a delay, a full five days after it should have shipped, and quite some time after printing of these shirts should have begun.

The shirt ended up being printed on the 21st, the day after, and was finally shipped on the 23rd, eight days after it was meant to ship. Clearly, Represent was unprepared for the amount of orders they received for this shirt (they said as much in their email regarding the delay) and didn't do enough to prevent this unexpected turn of events from causing delays to their customers.

I'm not sure why Represent didn't recognise sooner that trying to print that many T-shirts from the 31st onwards and have them all in time for shipping on the 15th was impossible. If they'd managed the situation better, they might have begun printing earlier than planned, so as to keep delays to a minimum.

Since they must have realised prior to the 15th (the planned shipping date) that they weren't going to meet the deadline, I'm at a loss as to why they waited five days past the day my item was supposed to ship to inform me of the delays. Other than that, however, their emails have been cheerful, personable and informative, which helped quell my irritation at the delays at least a little bit.

They also provided free order tracking and even sent me a tracking update email when they had transferred my item into the hands of my local postal service, which was very much appreciated. I have not, as yet, received my item, but since it's now in the mail here in the UK, I cannot fault Represent for any delays past the point when they had my item in their possession.

The company obviously wasn't prepared for a larger order like the one my item was a part of, and it shows in the severe delays incurred on the shirt I ordered from them. Their email service and free order tracking was praiseworthy, and prevented my rating from being any lower, but due to the long delays and the fact I still don't have my T-shirt, I cannot with good conscience rate them higher, either.

This company is one I would recommend, albeit with severe reservations regarding order printing and punctuality of delivery. Order with care, and if you need an item quickly, another site would probably be a better choice.
