You can get a little extra discount with Raise for a purchase you KNOW you will not return, but NEVER buy a card to give as a gift or to save for later. I have had too many situations where the seller continues to use the card and it is $0 when you get around to using it. Do you want your father to ask why you gave him a blank gift card for Father's day? Was your childhood that terrible!?! There is a 'guarantee' but it is a short window. A 5% extra savings is not worth the hassle of filing a ticket and proving you didn't use the card. I learned the hard way so you could learn the easy way.
I have enjoyed many purchases from Raise and have been treated with respect and concern anytime I had any issue. The company backs the product they sell and are concerned with customer satisfaction,, its refreshing to do business with a company who actually values your business. I will continue to make purchases from them and tell others about their great customer service.
In the past two months I have received two gift cards from Raise that had a zero balance when I attempted to use them. I called the restaurant who initially sold the first card & was told the payment had been cancelled by the buyer. Even though it was a little more than 100 days, Raise issued me a full credit. The most recent was a Smashburger $100 card. When I called them, they said a hold had been put on the funds. I called Raise & Trent said they had given me the credit the first time as a courtesy & offered me just a $15 credit. I told them that would be unnecessary as I would discontinue purchasing from them. There was no response. I e-mailed their customer service & am still awaiting a reply.
I purchased two $10 iTunes go from Raise. One I was able to redeem right away with no problem. The other one had an error code. I called and emailed for a support ticket. Customer service was wonderful! The customer rep I got was really courteous and friendly!
Just went through a terrible ordeal with Raise thanks to the competence & professionalism of Raise representative Bernie. This man went beyond any narrow job description in restoring my faith in Raise.
Fawn really was helpful in helping me with the gift card I purchased earlier that didn't work. She definately put herself in my shoes, and was empathetic. She puts her heart and her soul into what she does for a living working at Raise. I hope Raise gives her a RAISE in her pay. No pun intended, but she does do a good job, and she certainly deserves it! Thanks again for your help, Fawn, I really appreciate it! Sue
Raise saves me money and the cards are guaranteed to work. I recently bought several gift cards. One would not work so I call up customer service and the problem was taken care of in a couple minutes. My money was quickly refunded and I am supper happy.
Had to call customer service due to an issue with ecard. Wait time was very long, which is why I rated it a 3. The rep that helped me, Fiona, was excellent! She promptly fixed the problem, was very pleasant and made sure the code worked for me.
Have purchased several thousand dollars worth of gift cards from Raise, including multiple airlines, Walmart, and multiple restaurants. Have a great, uneventful experience 98% of gift cards purchased. For the 2 times I had an issue, had quick email/phone correspondence with them and completely satisfied with their help.
Bought my 1st voucher from Raise on Tuesday; took the $50 Cheesecake Factory voucher to the restaurant on Thursday; was told there was a $0 balance. The voucher had never been used. Forced to use a legit Visa Gift Card that someone else had given me & it worked perfectly. I would not rely on Raise for actual gifts to people, but rather buy a gift card directly from the establishment for them. If it's for yourself & you're ready to cover the amount if you're told it's a Zero Balance at the retailer/restaurant, maybe give it a try. Spent 15 minutes on hold/talking to Raise Customer Support at the restaurant. The Raise rep was calm & efficient, saying the amount would be credited to my account "if I qualified" (per a follow-up email that I received). Kudos to the rep; thumbs down to my Raise restaurant experience during the holidays.
I've purchased over $5000 worth of gift cards from Raise as part of a Home Remodel. Only encountered one issue with a bad gift code, and Raise proactively reached out top notify me, immediately refunding my money.
I've saved hundreds from paying for merchandise with Raise gift cards. Very pleased with their service!
I've been a loyal Raise customer for a year and a half and love that we can purchase gift cards at a discounted rate. Occasionally we have had issues with a e-gift card card showing it wasn't activated but Raise Customer Service always comes through and provides quick follow up (typically same day response on email) and resolution by refunding our original purchase price. Thanks for the excellent customer service!
Bought a McDonalds card from these clowns, it never arrived. The only responses I received from CS were useless canned ones until I filed a BBB complaint. Then they agreed to send a replacement. Of course, that never arrived either. Their response to my complaint? The secretly close my account. Seriously? This how they run their business. Another millennial owned failure. Avoid like the plague
I bought a $100 Starbucks gift card online there, then transferred it immediately to another card using Starbucks.com, worked very fastly and I had no problems. Perhaps if I saw these review before I purchased it I would've decided not too, but that would've been a shame because I would have missed out on a great deal.
I love the ability to purchase gift cards at the places I shop for a discount. In the unlikely even that something does go wrong with an order I like knowing that the experience I had proves that they take customer service seriously. (Thanks Jenny)
After a horrible experience with other vendors, it was refreshing to get someone on the phone who understood our issue and resolved the matter above and beyond what they needed to, in order to help their customer. Thank you Molly and the thank you raise.com.
My online chat was followed up with a phone call & email! This was an extra step to assure me that I was satisfied with my concerns. This will always be remembered that Outstanding Customer Service is still alive!
One of my gift card did not work properly. My call was attended by Joey the customer service Representative at Raise, I got the best solution possible. I would highly recommend Raise to buy any gift card as the stick to their business policies truly.
When a gift card turned out to have a stop on it from the store because of a possible theft, the Raise.com customer service was super polite and helpful. I was issued a full refund in a matter of days. Thank you!
I have been using Raise.com for about 3 years. I love saving money on gift cards and their customer service is excellent. I received a physical card that when I attempted to use it, it stated "no funds loaded" I called Raise customer service who refunded my money to my credit card that same day!
Answer: I had a problem with the lowes gift cards i purchased from Raise as they did not work at lowes. It took upwards of 10 calls and over 3 months before I received my over $700 back. I will never buy anything on Raise again
Answer: People should unite and file a class action lawsuit against these guys, any attorneys reading this?
Answer: You check the balance on the business' website. For instance, if you have a McDonald's gift card, go to McDonald's website to check the card balance.
Answer: The usual issue is that someone will buy a gift card with a stolen credit card and then sell it to Raise (or others) for cash. Usually within 100 days the gift card issuer will find out when they have been charged back for the stolen card purchase, at which point they invalidate the card and zero the balance. Raise.com will refund you the unused balance on the card prior to it being zeroed out, but only within 60 days of your order. Their short protection policy limits their exposure if a high value card is invalidated and you come looking for a refund three months after you bought it. Every gift card reseller has a different policy for refunds. Some are as short as a few weeks, others last 100 days or more. Raise.com's 60 day policy is shorter than many of their competitors, which is why I don't use them much anymore. The lessons I have learned is only order cards you will use entirely within the next month, never gift them to others, and keep a spreadsheet if you order a lot of cards so you can keep track of balances. In all, I've had about 3% of the 200 cards I've ordered suddenly zeroed out. The majority were for improbably large amounts, which is why I now try and order lower value cards. One site suddenly listed 10 $100 gift cards for Jimmy Johns, a sub shop. One has to wonder who would order gift cards like this in the first place, only to put up for resale. It turned out the original buyer used a stolen credit card to buy them all and turned the proceeds into cash. The cards were all zeroed out. I have learned to be suspicious when a large number of high $ value cards in the same amount suddenly go up for sale. So while it may make sense to buy a $100 gift card for Sears, it usually isn't to buy a $100 gift card for Dunkin Donuts.
Answer: Susan, we're sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. Can you please send an email to member.success@raise.com with the email address associated with your account so that we can look into this for you?
