I know, doesn't sound like it makes any sense right? But I was double charged on an item that I returned to this store.
I made an instore return for 2 pairs of shoes out of my 6 pair online order that was shipped to me. I was refunded for 1 of the shoes and I was charged for the other pair that I returned. So I was essentially charged twice for a pair of shoes that I returned. This meant that I had to drive back over to the store again when I saw this additional charge on my account to ask them how they made this mistake and to get my money back. The employees there were of no help as they were unable to see all of the information from the online order so I was told to call the customer service phone number instead. After being on hold with Rack Room Shoe's customer service line for over 1 1/2 hours, I decided to try the online chat while I was still on hold on the phone. I eventually got through to someone in the online chat and I was then told I needed to go back to the store for a 3rd time for the mistake to be fixed. Really?! This whole situation was absolutely ridiculous and I let them know this too. The only response I got was, "I apologize. You need to go back to the store and speak to the manager again. The mistake will be resolved this time." So I drove back over to the store yet again to speak with the manager, again. Thankfully, this time it was for the most part fixed (they should have transferred the bogo discounts to the pairs that were left). However, in the end, not only did one of Rack Room Shoe's associates do a return where I was charged for the return, but a lot of time was wasted driving back and forth to their store, being on hold with their customer service line that nobody picks up and then having to take even more time to do an online chat on top of all of this. This type of hassle does NOT make me feel comfortable shopping with this company ever again. The hassel of having to go through all of this to fix THEIR mistake was extremely exhausting and frustrating and all that I received in the end for all of this mess was an "I apologize." Not even a coupon was offered to me. I'm glad the mistake was finally fixed but I will not be recommending this store to anyone. BUYER BEWARE. A customer should never have to go through all of this hassel and back and forth to fix a mistake on the company's end, especially during a pandemic when people are being told to stay home and stay safe.
