“Customer service doesn't exist”

I have a phone outage for three days now. A tech was supposed to show three days ago and didn't. Today I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get someone to respond but I just keep getting transferred back and forth. Centurylink does not care that I'm losing business. Instead of wasting my time how about you actually show up to look at the problem or just admit that you are incompetent.

Requested phone only service installation. So far they missed the first three installation dates, then tried to charge me for internet service, which I don't need. (Already have fiber optic) Got them to remove the internet charges, then they failed once again to show up to install phone service, after taking another day off. Done with them. Going with a VOIP service instead. Clearly the most incompetent people I've ever dealt with.

Been out of their service for over a month and they are always saying next week and solving the problem. They were sending their sales people to the houses while installing their service and now that we are dont have internet for over a month despite paying for the service they are not doing anything about it and rescheduling there visit week after week.

I've been a customer for 3 years paying premium price for bottom of barrel service and speed. Well when my internet went out and they showing no problem on their end. I was told it would 8 days before a tech could come out. Apparently the internet speed isn't the only slow thing about this company. If you have other internet or phone options, beware Century Link will burn you. Go with another Company.

We lost our wifi Saturday afternoon & there is no tech or repair service available on the weekends! They are more than happy to increase you monthly service charge but they have no one on call for weekends! They sent out a message that they will work on it Monday. We have no TV or wifi for devices in the mean time. They are aware there is a problem, but won't address it. Our entire neighborhood is affected!

Had a Century Link salesperson come to my home to review the present status of my home services. When she told me the price would be the same if not less than Direct TV, I gave her the go ahead.
I pressed her for the status of my account with Direct TV which she informed me that the contract was finished and there would be no early termination fee. Well guess what, she was wrong and it cost me $120. So I guess the moral of this story is not to trust all the info they give you and be sure to check for yourself first. Truly disappointed after being a Century Link customer for 30 years. Guess there just as money hungry as all the rest of the cable networks.

Overcharged me for 3 months, kept failing to execute the agreed price. Expect to spend hours and hours sorting out a mess that they caused. Use the chat function so you have a record of what they promised to do and then figure out they are truly awful. I'm a customer but only until I can find someone else. Anyoine else. One star is being way too generous

They lie and say the order is complete then someone else says it wasn't submitted. Techs don't show up because order is never actually submitted. Passed from person to person and they all say something to placate you. TERRIBLE. Be like A Flock of Seagulls and RUN SO FAR AWAY. Never got to try their service because they were too inept to even hook it up. Passed between 17 chat people with names like Samir. CRAP

If you’re considering CenturyLink, DON’T. For the love of all things holy, don’t waste your time because it will be hours of hassle! You’ve been warned.

In the beginning of June I was having issues with my internet services. Most of the time my modem wouldn't connect. After contacting support, they told me they couldn't get a tech out for 20 days. After several days I finally got it fixed myself. Now they are trying to charge me 3 different late fees totaling $35
Worst internet service and customer service ever!
After dealing with all the online and over the phone I FINALLY got a competent representative who actually looked into the issues and fixed them, including removing my late charges.

Sent me a modem that has become defective. They claim there's nothing wrong with the line even though the internet barely works, constantly hanging and spinning. Customer service says they will charge me $99 and more to have someone come in to the house and then tell me I need to buy a new modem. Unbelievably ridiculous. Worse after they convinced us to change to fiber optic.

The worst customer service of any company. Wait time to speak with a representative is 70-80 minutes. I have been without phone service for 22 days because they do not know how to repair it. It is not my phone or my phone lines but somewhere on the main line. They schedule appts and never show up after telling you to be home between 8-5 to just sit and wait for a tech to never show up. If you have an alternative please take it.

Phone support was a joke. The support people who barely spoke English seemed to read from scripts instead of listen to the problem. Conversations were cut off suddenly without recalls. The problem with my internet was never resolved but support people guaranteed that it would resume in two hours or 24 hours and they hung up. One week later I'm without internet and will now be charge for someone to come to my location to troubleshoot. I am older but highly educated and can recognize when I'm being lied to. I'll contact the Area office on Aging and see if this qualifies for elder abuse.

This company not only cannot figure out their bilking and has tried to over bill me several times, they have now decided their $#*!ty internet is worth $10 more a month. Your company is greedy and corrupt. I love that you eliminated your loyalty department right before you made a change that you know would cause numerous customers to want to cancel their service. I hope you people get fined by the FCC and go out of business. If I knew where to find your CEO I would punch them right in the throat!

Awful service. I've been trying to open an account and after a long scheduling/canceling appointments and so many hours in the phone waiting for their technical issues and delays... I'm still without internet. None of the customer service's phone number Centurylink has work effectively. This is a disaster and no one call me back or anything. Zero professionalism and care for anyone. My phone is *******245 just in case this may be the only way someone take me seriously and call me back. Thank you

Poor customer care, their service/repair is comical. Suddenly home phone and internet stops working, can't get a live person on the phone, in chat I set up a service call, 5 days later on the scheduled service appointment the technician does not show up at all, still can't talk to live person, so in chat again they can give me no answers and no promises but they tell me the only thing I can do is reschedule which is now 9 days later. 9 days later still nothing! So two weeks without home phone or Internet maybe fun for some but I have a 24 y/o son at home on permanent disability that now cannot contact me when I am at work if something goes wrong or is needed. There is no cell service around my home so we depend solely on CenturyLink Monopoly landline that they seem to care not to provide. I told them about my son's needs but that issued no urgency at all. I should have a choice for telecommunication / internet provider in my area... The fact that I don't have a choice and the fact that CenturyLink KNOWS THAT is why they can act as cold and heartless as they do.

Internet down off for almost 2 full days each time note fixed by 8 pm next day same story next day then week end and wait till Monday by 8 pm attempt to call and all we got was phone message that gave me nothing could never get a person on the line to help bad customer service not even close to being a little ok just bad -bad-bad

Had to select a rating of at least 1, or I would have selected 0. Have experienced the absolute worst customer service ever. They've just scheduled a phone repair technician for the 3rd time, first 2 were no shows after waiting for them all day. 3 times trying to chat with a representative to report the issue, the first I was transferred 4 times and lasted over 45 minutes. The 2nd attempt was headed the same way so I quit and called. Could not get a representative on the phone, even though the robo voice said I was being transferred, had to answer a few more questions and was told Good-bye and hung up on. 3rd attempt at chatting resulted in a 3rd appointment for tomorrow, the representative could see no reason noted in the ticket as to why the technician did not show up or why the service was cancelled. Supposedly they rescheduled for tomorrow, but I see no confirmation that happened.

On Aug. 14 my CenturyLink cable snapped under heavy vines. No internet. Soonest repair? Sept. 2.
That's 25 days without internet, and I work from home.
And of course each call takes an hour to reach a human being.
I ordered t-mobile's internet on Aug. 16. It arrived Aug. 18 and works fine. I'm thankfully quitting CenturyLink. Not sure how an internet provider can stay in business when they can't repair a line for nearly a month.

Tip for consumers:
I think I read somewhere that CenturyLink makes you wait quite a while for new service too. That should be a red flag.
This company is beyond bad for customer service. There's no way I'll ever do business with them again.

I decided to make a change to CenturyLink and the day came for them to install my service. First off I was given a time frame of 8-12 of when I should expect the tech. Then I get a text saying hes late. Now it's 12 - 5. Not a big deal. Well its 4:20 and I still havent heard from anyone! When I try to call, I sat on hold for ever, about 45 minutes and got nothing. If Im having this hard of a time trying to become a customer I cannot even imagine what they do to their current customers. Absolute bull$#*!! Stay away from this cheap $#*! company!

I have now spent about 10 total hours over three days trying to work out high speed internet with cyber shield. I keep getting transferred to other numbers and the representatives do not know what they are doing and transfer me somewhere else. I explain the problem and ask them not to continue transferring me and help fix the problem. This is the most incompetent group of people I have ever dealt with. I still have not resolved the issues and am getting ready to cancel them.

It took over 4.5 hours of sweat to discover a tech needed to come out a week later to setup my internet. I was told it would take minutes to set up my new internet service, and if I needed help I could call or talk online. I got outright bad info from the tech on the phone and when the online person couldn't figure it out, they just left the convo. Frustrating, maddening, not helpful, —you too could have that if you chose to go anywhere near Centurylink. Good luck. I have had none with them. That's 4.5 hours I will never get back.

Due to life events, I have had to move a loved one twice this year. Each time I had to contact this company multiple times to make sure they actually did what they said they would. Multiple times when I was calling to follow up on their mistakes I was disconnected because something wasn't working on their end. In the end two week wait for phone service the first move then a THREE MONTH wait the second time. Do any other option you can then this company.

Tip for consumers:
I can't begin to describe how poorly they handled their main core business. They are an embarrassment of a company.
