I advise everyone when signing up on ANY web site to read the entire disclaimers. Any site that ask you for a credit card most likely has a charges associated with it. Then after you join be sure to read all the helpful information in the QuiBids 101 that has so much helpful information, don't just dive in and think you are going to win a ipad for a penny because reality is your not! Most of the people winning the higher end items have been members for some time and have done there research. Start small and learn how it all works. I have saved thousands of dollars over my membership and have never had a issue in my 4 years. I give this site a A++ DO YOUR RESEARCH!
Have you ever learned probability? This site is always the winner, so you are always the loser. At least expected to be.
As one of my teachers who gave a curved grade put it: if all students don't do their final, they all get A's. But they don't. Sorry.
There is yet an easy way to beat it. Find the original price, and do the math.
PRICE/60
This is the point where you should STOP. Just stop it here, and all of you will win. Will you? Will you?
I was on the site for about 2 months and won several items. I spent a couple hundred dollars on bids and was really loving it. Suddenly almost every auction was blocked. When I contacted Quibids about it they said that I was too good and that my auctions were limited to make things fair for others. That should not be legal. I refuse to do anything further on their site. My overall review is that it's great for about a month, then when they find out they are not making enough money on you they block you. They should be banned.
I had a question about one of my wins, and I emailed CS to find out what I should do. They answered my email within a few days, which was very quick considering I emailed them on a Friday and a holiday weekend and I had my answer on Monday. They were able to resolve my question with only one email too. Quibids customer service is always very courteous and try to get things fixed with only one or two contacts.
At first a very bad one. I think Quibid should add a feature so at sign up the new customers. Are aware more of the $ 60.00 fee for the 100 bid. But other than that. So far no more bad experience. I felt in the beginning I was mislead in register on Quibid. You sign up page and after entering my bank card. Time I entered it my bank account was deducted. Quibids. Would have a lot less confusion. If they would maybe offer other option's. Like $30.00 for 50 bids or just make it very clear that. It is not free on sign up. And it is a pay for to buy bid's before sign up. I only say this to maybe help future customer's. THANK YOU Ricky ( Maybe offer a badge for customers that very communicative in some form)
The problem with people new to quibids is they see the TV ads and expect big ticket items for pennies on the dollar. Yes, it is possible. But from what i've seen, it's unlikely. I guess i'm technically a power bidder now as i've seen some people drop out of bidding once they see my sn.
My advice to new bidders is to bid on smaller items in the $50 and below. Gift cards with voucher bids are ideal. Stockpile the voucher bids til you have around 500-1k and then try for the bigger items. Time of day is also key.
This is a gamble in hopes of saving money whether your saving 10% or up to 95%+. So bid on stuff you have no problem spending full price and utilize the BUY IT NOW if you don't win so you don't lose money on your lost bids.
I signed up with QuiBids thinking the auction was similar to Ebay. Did not realize it was more like a live auction. With my life/job schedule it is impossible for me to be at a computer constantly. I emailed QuiBids and with 24 hours received a reply and a refund. Awesome job support team.
I didn't expect to get charged for registering with your site but I did. It was $60 charged before I even out on your site to check things out. I immediately emailed customer service and within 30 minutes they responded and had refunded the $60 back to my card. Very quick and satisfying response.
The bidding is fun with giving great opportunities to get items cheaper than retail. I notice some bidders that win all the time seem to have access to the less competitive auctions for some reason but other than that it is great. I also wish the lock on auctions would occur a little sooner.
Being cautious by nature, I watched the bidding and read the sites tutorial.
All seemed good, you must purchase bids... but even if you do not win... your cost for the bids comes off the price of the item you bid on... just be prepared to buy it at MSRP. You can also use bids to win bids... these are called vouchers. I got good at using 10 bids to win 25 bids... now I was ready to rock... and bid with the big boys, for TV's and vacations--- BONK!
If you win bids... they are no good for "buy it now". That destroys all your protection and makes the site nothing more than a raffle site. Beware the fine print. Oh yeah... I too believe in Bots... beware the Santa and the King Kong!
Beware! And be very very afraid of this get-nothing for you money site! This is a total rip off. The ads indicate that you are bidding one cent, that people pay $1.92 for iMac, or $2.37 for 50" TV - but the truth is each and every bid cost you sixty cents. 60, if you loss you don't get it back. That's $6.00 for ten bids, $60.00 for one hundred bids. If you buy an item for $1.00 changes are you've spend the same or more on the value of that item, shipping and bidding on it and others.
Bottom Line - If you do the math on this you will see that Qui Bids is making a fortune on your inability to understand that each time you click the mouse it cost you. 60.
The bid o'meter is just a quicker way for you to spend your money - 25 bids on the meter just cost you $15.00.
I too like others here, have tried bidding a few times. What I found is what others have found that the counter, when it reaches 1 second, freezes, and then all of a sudden, several bids pop up and the counter resets to 15/10 seconds! My bid was registered, but there is no way to determine the exact time that it was. In contacting quibids, they blame 1)my computer (NOT) 2) my internet connection (why did the counter ONLY freeze at 1 second) 3) my connection speed (1gig... NOT).
I am convinced that they purposely stop the timer at one second... they say it is the "going... going... gone" method, so my question to them was... "what is the purpose of the timer then?"... I never got a reply...
STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!
As pointed out by other viewers, read the Quibids 101 section. This is not an auction site and they are not in the business of selling you anything.
The purpose of this site is to sell the "fun" of bidding. Really if you want to
Bid on something, go to Ebay, you can bid all you want for free.
From many reviewers you see complaints of:
1) Bot Bidders
2) The mysterious "2 Seconds Left" freeze
3) Every time some bids time is added to the auction
4) Extra Selling costs if you "win" something (transaction fees, shipping fees, etc)
All of these are signs that something is not right here.
Really guys, stick to Ebay.
I thought I was duped when I was charged $18 during registration and didn't even realize it. After researching, I found negative feedback about Quibids and it was a scam and customer service was horrible. THEY ARE AWESOME! Responded in 24 hrs. To my email and refunded the $18. I can't wait to start shopping! Life's lesson... don't believe all bad things that you hear!
Am completely new to process of QuiBids. Great tutorials to help through initial stages. Although never won the two auctions I attempted i was happy that the money i had bid on up to that point could be applied to purchase of gift card.
Other then the length of time spent to resolve this issue the support team had great customer service attitudes and did what they had to help and I'm impressed by the strides taken on my behalf. Keep up the good work Quibids Support Team.
I've been a customer for about 5 months now. I enjoy the whole site. The support team is fast and quick, I have received all of the merchandise I've won or bought within 5 working days, and I've saved some money in the possess.
DO NOT sign up to this site... after you enter credit card info which is part of sign up, and accept terms and conditions, you will be hit with a 60.00 dollar charge to your credit card... RIGHT NOW... no warning, no confirmation, no nothin...
See youtube vidoe for details how how these scam people rip you off
Sure wish I could have found this before I tried it! Then to beat all,,,,, you only have a short time to buy it at full price using the money you spent on the bids! I actually looked for a critique like this,,, unfortunately,,, should have kept looking and not tried the site,,,,, Live and Learn"!
I am infuriated with this site and frankly think it amounts to price gouging and consumer fraud. I recently bid on a 40 in tv. The value price on the item was $559.00. The winning bidder bid $43.25. The auction was in $. 01 increments. Therefore, in order to achieve the bid price of $43.25 there were 4325 bids at $. 60 a piece for a grand total of $2595. 00. So in total we idiot bidders paid $2595 so that one lottery winner could get the tv for $111.05 plus $25 shipping and handling. What a scam! If all the bidders were working for the four hours it took to finish the auction from the time it first hit 20 seconds we could have all bought the tv outright. Instead the rest of the bidders are out $2483. 95. Time to call the attorney general.
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you.
