Well, Q link is a free phone plan for people that can't afford anything else. It has good service and I hope to keep on using it 😀
They say you will have unlimited calls and data. You do not. They offer hotspot service but you only get about 3 days service per month at most. Customer service reps have poor English skills. This wireless service is really poor. Only use this service if you're desperate and don't need data. Phones work like they're refurbished. Keypad often malfunctions. Buy a cheap phone if you're low on cash and need the call service or a backup phone. I paid 90 dollars for a phone and it was a total waste of money.
Having Q Link kind of reminds me of dial up Internet! Takes forever to send pics or video. Videos don't stream smoothly. I've had a few dropped calls, and the free laptop they advertise is not free! You have to pay like 10.99 for it and it's probably worth 5.00. Customer service people have been friendly. I give 3 stars for that.
Tip for consumers:
Don't expect to get a free laptop for signing up because it is not free.

Phone service
I've only had Qlink for about a year and the service has been okay but in certain areas of Omaha, NE. I get dropped calls and the last experience I had with them was this morning, Jan 16,2024, when I woke up I needed to call my Dr. and I could only make emergency calls. I used my friends phone to call QLink to find out why and I get a recording telling me that I had switched providers, which I had never done. What is up thith these companies stealing?
Tip for consumers:
I brought my own phone so I don't know about the phone products QLink provides but I do know about the tablets. QL ink sent me a Septer 8 tablet that had issues from day one. It was really slow to load, always not responding and wanting to close applications. They sent me a refurbished tablet and won't admit it and have no records of me talking to any representative about it.

As I said it works great unless I'm at home. Signal sucks I can't get messages or calls at my house. It's insane that my daughters school had to email me that she had broken her wrist in PE last year because she couldn't call. So my daughter was at school for 2 and a half hours hurting with a broken wrist scared and bawling her eyes out because my phone doesn't get signal. Works great in town but I'm a stay at home mom and it's bs I have to reached by email because my phone can't receive a call.
P.s. Value is only a 5 star because it's a free service!

Q Link cellular service
I've had my Q-Link wireless phone service for approximately 5 years, since I became disabled.
Their customer service is atrocious most times and on its best day, just OK. The reps are generally unknowledgeable and put me on lengthy holds while they probably have a supervisor walk them through the fix.
I checked THEIR website for a phone that would be compatible with their service and chose one, (235$) only to have them tell me it's not a compatible device! Their solution? Buy a new phone.
I've had customer service representatives argue with me, tell me I was wrong, and tell me I didn't know what I was talking about.
The good things about their service are; wide service areas and moderately strong signal, that's all.
Tip for consumers:
Research other companies as well.

Trying to replace my broken phone for over 30 days. Pending, pending, pending is my salty status... Finally, we've have our order processed. The representatives have always been polite.
It was good for a few months no problem.
Then it all went down hill.
Lost service in certain areas but that is expected with all carriers.
Your internet will slow down almost enough to where it won't work when you reach the maximum usage of data. They claim to have unlimited but not true. They do not respond to emails and customer service you cannot understand them. They restrict your websites. I tried even after a new phone. I wouldn't recommend.
QLink's cellular connectivity is as good (or bad) as any of the other Lifeline providers but customers should bag the free ZTE phone right out of the box. It hardly ever works and will drive you crazy. Replace it with a 2nd hand iPhone (from eBay, for instance.)
Don't bother calling customer service for any reason. It's a waste of time.
[[Edit: April, 2021 - QLink upgraded its connectivity to 5G (Hooray!) but didn't increase the number of telephone customer service operators (mostly in India) to mitigate the inevitable screw-up. (Surprise!) Some phones (like mine) required the replacement of the SIM card, after which, in my case, I had no cellular data connectivity. When I called customer service, I was regularly greeted (after climbing through the branches of a telephone tree like a Redwood) with a cordial annnouncement that my wait-time would be 345 minutes (or some other stupendous figure. [There were actually TWO of these. The first wait of some hours was for a "general" consultant who, after determining that she couldn't be any help, would put me on a wait-list for a "tech" some further hours down the road.]) I did this often and spent double-digit hours on the phone, largely on hold, and was disconnected regularly because my cordless handset's battery would die before anyone answerered. After half-a-day's effort with multiple techs on different calls, the verdict was that my b-y-o cellphone (an iPhone 7) was defective and would have to be replaced. I was shopping for a new one when someone from India called back and did some more troubleshooting (which really appeared to be the "same" troubleshooting in different sequence), and got it to work by having me remove and replace the SIM card and swap back and forth between the LTE, 3g, and 2g networks until the LTE (the 5g[?]) came to life. It has since died again but I have found that I can resuscitate it by removing the SIM card again and performing the same network minuet. (This should be fun outside in a wind when I'm trying to call an Uber and have to handle something as substantial as a fleck of paint.)
So QLink has come through as expected.
(An interesting affect of its telephone system, reflecting the millions of calls it has received, is that the woman on the outgoing message has apparently had a stroke to judge by the way her voice is slurred.)]]
Tip for consumers:
QLink now uses the T-Mobile 5G (GSM) Network. Where I live the T-Mobile antennas are close-to-nonexistent (which may explain why the data stops working.) So QLink customers now face an inferior service vendor using an inferior network. One hopes that the T-Mobile buildout over the years will resolve some of that. In any case, QLink customers will continue to enjoy the same level of service that we have over the years. (See my review.)
I would think counting the number of Text SMS, whatever would be easy. I haven't known my monthly average number of Texts sent and received in two years now. It bothers me.

Phone calling, texting and data.
Price is right at free but customer service is what's that? Good luck calling and getting a hold of someone that speaks English! Q LINK knocked out my voicemail and changed my caller ID to someone I don't know. I have called SEVERAL times and haven't gotten anything resolved! When I've called they say they'll reset voicemail or caller ID but it doesn't. To setup vm you call your phone number, which is fine. Then you type in your password, which sounds easy, but almost all passwords are alphanumeric. Their computer doesn't recognize numbers for letters, for example FUNny_ would be *******, right? Try typing in 7428FUNny using a phone keypad. Doesn't work!
I wish SOMEBODY could or would help! If so, it would be a great service
Tip for consumers:
IF they had REAL customer service and would actually help and return calls or text messages it would be nice. Plus, if someone at Q-Link could speak English that would be to their advantage. Maybe they use a foreign call service for customer disservice, don't know??

Internet service
My crappy Qlink Huawei phone died one day, so I bought a good used iPhone 6 at auction. I contacted Qlink via the web page for a sim card. I went without a phone for 2 weeks waiting for the sim. Talking to a rep is almost impossible--you'll be disconnected after waiting an hour on the telephone. Cellular data is spotty, but the phone service is very good. For the price--it's a good deal--free. No charge, nada--and you have a phone...
When I first got phone was ok because I had another one until hard times hit. Hard to find a phone to replaces. The one. They send you. And when you do replace phone they cut service off to you get new phone so you have no phone something is not right they give more mins than most but I would go with safelink or assurance wireless
I was never given a phone and the phone I already owned when I got my Sim card. I have borrowed 4 phones now I had to return phone to owner. I need a phone
This tablet will not stay connected to the internet it is not useful for most things It can be used to check stuff like email and watch YouTube
Takes forever to get something downloaded and just slow page to page always tells me TAKING TO LONG...

The phone service is decent an the txt messages are kinda hit n miss an the interweb is spotty most the time
"Free internet" blocks user availability to other devices, such as using a router for laptop, tablets, TV, etc.
So called "free internet" requres that another provider must be paid for to provide household internet accesibility.
Very disappointing.
When I needed a phone they where quick and fast to get me a phone and service now I don't have to worry
I've had a problem with my phone from day one after repeated calls to Customer service I decided to just deal with or be without a phone for weeks again. My service is great though my tablets great zI just have to shut my phone off and restart every time I make acall.
I've only been a customer for these months and it's been pretty great you just got to make sure you know what you're reading and if you don't you can always find out what you need to understand
I have had nothing but problems with the phones I have purchased. They start out working great. You get by the 90 day period the foul up and stop working.
The second phone I purchased, I was told was a 5G phone and I would receive a 5G sim card. I have a 4G phone and I received a 4G sim card. I called to explain the situation. I was told there isl nothing they can do. They can't just send me a new 5G sim card. I have to do with what I have.
