Defamation
November 9, 2022

Defamation of character issue. I was at Publix Young Circle on November 7,2022. I am a frequent shopper there because I reside on Hollywood Beach which is about 1.5 mi. Across Hollywood Blvd going East to the Beach. As I was inside of the store I met a uy and started a conversation with the guy about the Powerball Numbers. After the conversation because since I was getting a sub from the deli I asked if he was hungry and wanted something to eat, which is what I do when I meet a homeless person. So as I proceeded to the deli, I placed my order and afterwards proceeded to the checkout counter. Once I was in line the guy that I was purchasing a sub for had a cup of soup in his hand, little did I know that the guy decided to walk out without paying for it. So when he left the store and I checked out she (ChiChi) asked me if I knew the guy and if he was with me. I didn't know the guy, I was just being nice to the dude by treating him to something to eat., so therefore technically he was not with me because I ran into the guy inside of the store on the way to the restroom. So as I was exiting the store I overheard (ChiChi) asking the bagger named Phil if the guy was with me and he said yeah I saw them come into the store together. Now that was a blatant lie because as i stated previously that I was already inside before the guy even came into the store. He only said that or assumed that because he saw us talking over by the rest rooms, which was an incorrect assumption. I know it may seem like a minor incident but I reported the baggers false accusation to the Manager Kurt because it means a lot to me not to have my reputation in Publix nor the community,. Tarnished by this baggers (Phil) false accusations. I am an upstanding member of the community, self employ and very respected in the South Florida area. What someone else does inside or outside of Publix has nothing to do with me. I was trying to good by buying a homeless person food but somehow the good turned into bad. Go figure! So today 11/09/2022 when I approached Phil about what he had said to Chi Chi he became beligerant and hostile calling me a bunch of name, talking about my mommy and giving me the finger. Now I have been going to Publix for 20+ years and have never had an employee represent Publix in such an unprofessional and hostile manner. Having people such as Phil as the face of Publix is a total disaster and I feel s though Phil should stick to bagging and collection of the carts instead of wasting Publix time and money on him trying to be security manager, etc. And furthermore demand an apology from him as well as the Publix organization. Please advise?

Publix Manager taking Unauthorized Pic of my Service Dog & Publix Deleted My Google Review
February 10, 2022

MY HONEST GOOGLE REVIEW WAS DELETED BY: PUBLIX -Westshore - 4900 Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, FL

Dear Publix department manager (with black hair & black beard, white shirt w/black pin stripes)

On Friday 1/21/22 approximately at 2:00p.m., it was EXTREMELY rude, so disrespectful for you to be so sneaky & creepy to take a picture with your cell phone of my legitimate service dog & I without my permission!

Especially while I was picking up my medicine from the pharmacy!

I saw you!

We are not a freak show or your show & tell exhibit!

My service dog is my medical device & lifeline NOT for you to take pictures for your own viewing pleasure!

I am also a Service Dog Advocate!

I WANT YOU TO DELETE OUR PICTURE(S) FROM YOUR CELLPHONE!

Publix Corporation is also aware of your rude and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior!

I also DO NOT APPRECIATE your Assistant manager Donna making excusses for your creepy Department manager's UNPROFESSIONAL behavior by saying to me when we spoke over the phone after my grievance with Publix Corporation, that "no, he LOVES dogs, he has a dog, he even threw a party for his dog", etc.

Assistant Manager- Donna, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR DEPT. MANAGER, HIS LOVE OF DOGS, HIM OWNING A DOG, OR HIS Dog's BIRTHDAY PARTY!

IT IS NOT ABOUT HIM!

I also do NOT appreciate you DISCOUNTING the entire unnecessary & unprofessional behavior by your department manager.

Perhaps your General Manager "JR" should have a MANDATORY Sensitivity Training class for all of Publix staff to ESPECIALLY include management!

The entire experience affected & embarrassed me, as a disabled person just going to Publix to pick up my medications and to get back home safe!

I do NOT need the added Publix stress in my life!

I will be taking my business elsewhere!

FYI, if anyone ever encounters a legitimate service dog team in public, PLEASE... be respectful from a far.

Do not EVER take pictures WITHOUT permission of a disabled person with/ or without a service dog aka medical device.

FYI, Proper service dog etiquette & rules when encountering a LEGITIMATE service dog / team, NOT "emotional support animal(s)" as they LEGALLY ARE NOT ALLOWED IN NON PET FRIENDLY BUSINESSES.

1) Do not look / stare at service dog or it's handler.

2) Do not EVER ask to pet service dog! It is NOT ABOUT YOU and you will be breaking the law interfering with the service dog's job to help mitigate the hander's disability. ***IMPORTANT - Do NOT EVER allow your children to run up and ask to pet service dog either.

3) Do not talk to or make noises to distract a service dog from performing its job.

4) Do not interfere with, harass, bully, intimidate a service dog, it's handler or collectively as a service dog team.

5) Do not allow your dog or pet to interfere, harm, injure or kill a service dog or its handler.

Engaging in any of the above acts are a violation of the Federal ADA law, as well as Florida ADA Laws, that carry severe penalties!

***IT TAKES YEARS OF DOCUMENTED TRAINING TO BECOME A LEGITIMATE SERVICE DOG TEAM.***

***The above ADA Laws DO NOT PROTECT Emotional Support Animals /pets (ESA) as they have zero training to navigate public access (i. E., a Teddy Bear can qualify as an emotional support animal.)

ESA's are NOT ALLOWED in NON- PET friendly establishments, even though I have seen them in this publix, even in strollers!

That is why the airlines stopped the nonsense of people wanting to take their untrained pets everywhere, because people & service dog teams have gotten injured by out of control ESA's.

I personally met with Publix G. M. "JR" on 2/3/22 to discuss how this UNPROFESSIONAL ordeal with his Dept. Mgr., and JR "seemed emphatic & apologetic " until my Google review was DELETED!

It is NO longer a " pleasure shopping" at any Publix!

Tip for consumers:

STOP DELETING HONEST GOOGLE REVIEWS

On 2/3/22, I personally spoke with District Manager Addison & met G.M. "JR" at this Publix about how violated their new depart. manager made me feel when taking an unauthorized pic of my service dog and I, while we were standing at the pharmacy! Management "seemed" empathetic until they DELETED my honest Google review of the UNPROFESSIONAL behavior of their new Dept. Manager taking pics of myself, a disabled person & service dog advocate!

Turkey dinner
November 24, 2021

Ordered a 2 to 4 person turkey dinner on November 2 2021 and was emailed a receipt. Pick up time was confirmed for 2:30 PM November 24,2021. I arrived at 2:30 Nov 24 to find not only was it not ready for pick up they were not aware of the order. They scrambled to put the order together. I was kind of surprised that they expected me to walk out of the store with the dinner in my cart unbagged. Since I needed to buy a pie I went through checkout explaining to the cashier that the dinner was paid for and only needed bagging since deli tossed it in my cart un bagged. She then began to scan the dinner I had to stop her and explain that only the pie needs to be paid for the dinner is paid I just need it bagged since deli didn't. She understood then.
Honestly I could have gotten everything myself much faster and avoided the hassle that the whole ordeal was.

Receipt: When you arrive at Publix, please head to the Deli department. Since you paid online, simply pick up your order, and go!

Beware
February 20, 2021

COUPONERS GET DESCRIMINATED AGAINIST AT THIS STORE! NOT ONLY THAT BUT THEY GET CALLED A THEIF! ALSO, TOLD ME I WAS HUMAN TRAFFICKING COUPONS (IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW THAT CAN HAPPEN... PLEASE EXPLAIN BECAUSE I HAVENT HEARD OF SUCH. LOL). THE LIST GOES ON. THE STORY I AM ABOUT TO SHARE IS SORT OF LONG. BUT, DEFINITELY WORTH READING. ESPECIALLY, IF YOU ARE A COUPONER, BECAUSE I DONT WISH MY EXPERIENCE ON ANYONE!

I am fairly new to couponing (only been doing it for 3 months). And was at Publix yesterday doing so. I was there for several hours and tried my best to get done on time while my 4 year old had a sitter. I didn't get done before they closed. Since they closed at early due to the weather. I asked if they could keep my cart till they open. They said they would.

I got the an hour after. I had left some coupons in the cart. By accident but I had it sorted and some coupons but they're just to remind me I had a digital or I had a store coupon on it not probably the best method but my method since I'm still learning. Anyways they went through all the coupons in my items in the buggy and they told me I couldn't use some coupons for various reasons like expired or some cut. Remind you I had left them on there on accident my coupon binder was with me in my divider was with me. Also remind you that that's why I left the buggy cuz I wasn't done cuz I was making sure I had everything good. They have previously let me use expired coupons. I had ask different employees making sure it was ok?!

Anyways I was there for several more hours get everything I needed. And making sure the coupons are right. While I was there the manager came up to me and was like oh you still here we need to put you on payroll hahaha like she was joking, but she was really coming to talk to me so we talked she gave me some pointers I took notes. Really taking in what she was telling me since I thought she was actually genuinely trying to help me. Or after about if she meets competitors advertisement on gift cards like target has a gift card. She told me no, by the way her name was Casi. So I told him cigarette and get the screenshot on their coupon policy saying Publix does. (Seemsvto me if she was trying to help. She wouldn't of lied to me.) After that, an older gentleman around his 60s (in the baby section with no cart just looking at baby stuff.) I knew he was just coming to investigate, but I had nothing to hide. Due to I WASN'T DOING ANYTHING WRONG. He goes up to me and goes what in the world's going on here. No more was up I was like I'm just trying to coupon. Get a good price. Then he said what do you do with all the stuff. I told him I donate. Told him about my plans on going to make basket for the elderly at the nursing homes and let my 4 year old pass them out to the ones who don't have family or the ones that would get filled with joy by receiving one. Also, helping my family means everything to me. He was like where is the food? I replied by telling him I get it last because I don't want the refrigerated stuff to get hot, since it takes me so long (still learning). Plus, I want to make sure everything is right.

Well, I go to checkout. I was planning on getting the manager to do the gift cards. Figuring it if she's going to tell me no then they didn't train their employees had how to do it. She told the cashier to go to the other register and she would take care of me. She starts to ring up my coupons. Of course, there is a problem with one of their coupons. Saying I didnt get enough to get credit for the coupons. At this time, I was completely positive they don't want my business. Thinking of walking out at this point because of the way they were treated me. So much a heart can take. I deal with severe depression and couponing is on thing that helps me cope.

Anyways, my character wouldn't let me. I wasn't breaking any
Of their store policy. I wasn't breaking the law. The only thing I am guilty of is being there to long (making sure no coupon was expire, it's was the right size etc. I knew they were going to examine everyone coupon) Which I check, there is nothing is Publix's rules or guidelines saying I couldn't. Well, I had to go through my grocery bags and show her every item. Then she says some of them don't qualify. I had to explain to her they did qualify pointing at the ounces and brand. Exactly what the coupon said the qualify items were for. THEN, she said I was only allowed eight items. What? Explaining I am only allowed 8 of the same coupons. On the coupon it said 3 of when you by 2. So, I had 16 items for 8 coupons. It was fruit snacks. Not toilet paper, milk of anything like that. She, got another coupon looked at it went through the screen. Scanned it. Pick up the next coupon same coupon as before. Started going through the screen. Really, I am sure when you just went through the screen you could notice I had the several of the same thing. Think she scanned like 2 or more. And said that was all of the coupons. And put the stack to the side. I knew that was incorrect. I ask her if she scanned the Axe coupon. Of course, she acted dumb founded. I went to show her the coupon in the stack to show her. And she put her hand over the stack and said these have already been scanned. I told her I wasn't trying to take them. Just wanted to so her. She starts flipping through them 4 at a time. With 3 axe coupons were in the stack. I saw her brought it to her attention. Then, she blames it on her employee! The cashier she took over for before ringing up the coupon. This is where I had enough! They weren't going to treat me this way anymore. I told her to stop and void everything. And ring up my drink I already opened.

When I left I tried to call customer care. They are not open on the weekends. So how about the store I just left trying to get the district manager's information. And I was explained to the manager a guy manager (he's like in his thirties medium brown hair average built) what just happened how's she try to have had my coupons. And he stops me he's like I know who you are and calls me by my name say just took a picture of my license plate and tells me the cops are going to be on their way to my house. I questioned every single reason he gave me and the reasons he gave me was the coupons I just used (I didn't use any), then it was I took stuff, after that he said I was human trafficking coupons, then there's space recognition they have, then i it's like I was up to suspicious behavior, and the last one is when he really messed up he said that I had put stuff in my pocket. Basically called me a thief. Which is really really unacceptable. I said you guys were watching me apparently really close did I put anything in my pockets he said they're surveillance looks like I did. Come on now Publix you're known for your friendly staff and all you did to me was discriminate me and call me a thief

PUBLIX WANTED ME TO WORK FOR FREE, WHEN I REFUSED THEY CALLED ARMED SECURITY.
March 2, 2019

I once worked for a direct marketing company where I visited many Publix stores to Demo food items that people buy and consume from Publix. Please know I quit the job I was not fired. I tell you this because my reviews will get nasty and I do not want you to think I am disgruntled, but I am. Here is my story. I was tasked to Demo a Locatelli Cheese in Publix on a certain Sunday Morning. Normally I am to call the particular Publix to make sure they had the stock of the item so I can do the Demo. I loved selling out the stock they would have. I am a Fashion Designer, so I dress well whenever I leave my front door. Well, I called that Publix and could not get the Deli people to talk to me straight about the Locatelli cheese stock. I thought I might drive to the location and do a face to face. This drive is a 45 minute in the sin city that is Miami, from my house. I was only being paid $54.00 for the whole 4-hour job, but to set up and execute the job actually took about 6 hours. You do the math on how much I got per hour, not including gas, car, and clothes. When I first arrived at the Store at 1920 West Avenue Store #621. I went to the Deli asking for the Manager, out came this Haitian young lady and Identified herself as the person with whom I needed to speak. I introduced myself and informed her that I have a demo scheduled for the next Sunday and I am asking if she can order enough of the Locatelli for me to sell out and to demo. I like selling so much, but it is important to note I am not being paid to sell. I gave the worker 7 clear days to order the stuff. On that particular morning. I arrived dressed to the teeth as far as a server could look, a white clean tux shirt, the kind with the kick up colour, a nifty black bow tie, a sporty stretch black pants and a black Swede shoes by Clarks. I wanted this Demo to be really good for me because I had told this lady I am courting that I would be there and I asked her to visit me while I was on the job. I thought if anything I might get lucky later that evening when we had a date planned. I arrived at 9.30 am a whole 30 mins early to set up and make this Demo work I was so excited to do this. I arrived at the Deli and said good morning to this Haitian lady who was cutting up something behind a hidden counter, I said "Hi Can I speak to the Manager Please?", Gosh, this ugly lady yelled at me in the instant, so early in the morning, " you need a hair net" I thought to myself but wait I am not in the work area and I am not serving food yet, what the hell? Out came the Manager. She recognised me and I said good morning and I came to do the demo. She told me the Truck was outside and "the Locatelli cheese was being separated". In her next breath, she informed me that I am to Demo another cheese, not the Locatelli. I did not understand yet what was to take place. Anyways I purchased a bag of Ice and went upstairs to fetch my setup to execute my Demo.At some point, before 10 am, which is my start time, the worker manager sent this other Haitian lady over to deliver to me a sample of Cheese, on a cracker with some marmalade, on a cracker with some cheese. I was confused, the Haitian lady was very repulsive, in the manner when she handled me as a professional, she began to move my display on my table to accommodate her display samples. I became very aggravated again. I began to understand that I was not going to sample the cheese I was contracted to sample, by an independent company, who were the people who paid me. PUBLIX WANTED ME TO WORK FOR FREE. PUBLIX WANTED ANOTHER COMPANY TO PAY ME AND I MUST WORK FOR PUBLIX FOR ME. I CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW FURIOUS I BECAME.At some point I was presented with a case of the very cheese I was to sample, but there seemed to be 12 in the case, so and according to the rules of my engagement I was not permitted to do the Demo, based on the fact there was insufficient stock. Then came this Causation lady with a latent Southern Accent, who introduced herself as the actual Manager of the whole Deli, I told her I came a week in advance and that I did not have the stock so I cannot do the demo. I gave her my papers to sign me out, she said she will tell my company that I did not want to work and that she will write me up. I was not bothered with that.At some point, I confronted the ugly Haitian lady who yelled at me on the onset and I told her she has no right to treat her associates in such a contemptuous and ugly manner. She looked at me as a Deer would look at an oncoming truck in the dark.At this point, I was being singled out by the whole Haitian clan who are the workers running this particular Deli. This Deli is a disgusting place if you knew what happens in the unseen areas you will never eat there. Mr Martinez kept those bad minded workers at bay, but he left, and in Came this Cuban monster his name is Mike Perez. The new ASM. OMG, I am in shock, at some point I called my date, while I was pacing the sidewalk in anguish that I will not get this Demo. I spoke to GF, she said, she and her Girlfriend were en route to see me at the Publix, oh Gawd I was mortified. My losses were great I lost 2 ladies and a Demo in one morning, plus $50.00 what else could go wrong? But it did, something else went very wrong. I did not know it yet. First I had to stop my Girlfriend and her GF from coming over, and I can tell you that was truly unconformable. At that Point, I knew Publix had it coming. I was going to give it to them good. I am writing this as payback, having lost the chance to impress two ladies and maybe get lucky later. Anyways, I abandoned my position at the store because I had to do a quick meetup at the corner coffee shop with these two hotties. This meeting was going to happen in the Publix when I was going to give these ladies a sample of some nice fresh cheese and my master kindness in my cool clothes, but no! The Deli monsters ruined all that for me, can you blame me for writing this concise report? I could not let this one go but it gets better, sorry worst. My GF is an attorney, and her GF is also a litigator, we talked shop and I paid for the bill a $45.00 with the tip after all this is Sin City. I went back to the store at 1 pm or so, up came the manager of the store. By Mike Perez, ASM, he pointed to the camera above my position. I am breaking down my stuff and handing him my papers again to sign me out, he said you have not worked. I said you did not have the stock. He said I have a camera above you. I am thinking of two hotties, in a white bed and pink.He said, "I am signing you out and reporting you". I thought gosh I lost those two lovelies because of this ugly looking short man. Life is hell in South Florida. I am breaking down my display and taking pictures, all the while thing of the ladies. He grabs my paper from the table and prances off to his office, in rage. I could care less. Eventually, I went to his office to fetch my worthless paper, because I already knew I was leaving this nasty job, and I never wanted to work for a Publix again. I became tired of seeing filthy kitchens, dealing with ignorant unfriendly staff and making myself miserable for little money, plus I lost two women over a few blocks of Locatelli Cheese. Turns out as I realised when the Southern Accented manager told me she knows me and she did not want me to compete with the cheese Publix they are selling so much of. I was unconcerned about all of that as I am being paid $50.00 to show some kindness, meet some people and serve something that people liked to taste. The only cheese I have any interest in is another. During the office meeting with Mr Monster Manager Mike Perez. I was telling him that I do not work for free, and at some point, I told him I will litigate him, the Dude called Security in that instant, this security is a Haitian man who most likely did not pass GED but has a gun, in a food store and I thought oh gawd I will need my GF now to get me out of the $#*! that may happen next.At some point the lady manager got really ugly in that small office, with enough space for 2 chairs a PC dest and me standing, she said my shirt was dirty, ugly and too big. All in all the Publix people encouraged me and wanted me to defraud the company who hired me, they wanted me to work for free, they told me my clothes were dirty and ugly, and they called security for me all because I refused to work for free. This story did not end here but I will update it at another time. I have been writing since 7.05am and its now 9.30am. I have a meeting on the beach at 10.30.
