The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

I had been using Priceline exclusively for some time until a recent trip to Huntsville Texas. I alwasy use my login to book rooms and had booked at the same hotel 3 weeks in a row. For this trip my wife arrived an hour before I did, WITH the Priceline Itinerary in hand and the hotel would not let he check in because Priceline screwed up with the details from my login to the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, the same clerk who checked me in 2 weeks prior was there and she too refused to check me in because the name listed had my first name as my last name as well. There is a review pending for the Hampton Inn as well. When I arrived, I had the itinerary in hand, I had the downloaded check in on phone's wallet and I had the credit card I booked with yet the fool behind the counter still wouldn't let us in. That's when I turned to Priceline. Even though they knew I booked the trip via my login, they chastised me for doing something wrong. I was like... WTH? I asked them what good my confirmation number was with the printout and what value downloading the booking to my phone's wallet was if the hotel was still going to refuse it. After some back and forth, the useless Priceline agent was still unable to help me and forwarded me to a 1-800 number to fix the problem where again, the agent blamed me. I guess my previous 9 booking in the same year were fine using my login, but this one was not. It took almost 30 minutes after a 5 hour drive before the sorted it out and when I asked what they were going to do for me for the inconvenience, they said "well we just fixed your problem, so what else do you want?". Priceline's benefits' package is a farce. I've looked at other hotels using other apps since I left Huntsville and all the prices are inline with PL. They call me a VIP gold member but there are zero benefits. They claim to offer premium support but they would rather blame me for their problems. I will never used this crappy product again.
This company has lied about every aspect of their service and has robbed us of THOUSANDS of dollars. They don't answer their phones and Don stand behind their agreements. They also chaged my account without my consent.
Whatever you do... RUN AWAY from this company. I certainly don't want to see anyone else suffer what my family has!
They are quick to take your money but when something goes wrong they have supple excuses for why they can't do what they should be doing. Worse still, they send out the non-English speaking telephone personalities to explain the situation in excruciating pigeon English detail. In the end, they refuse to take part in the correction and I would never, never recommend this company for anything to anyone. Shame, shame, shame on Priceline.
Will never use Priceline again. Had issues with the rental car, notified Priceline and was pushed back to Car Rental Company. First have to prepay and due to flight changes I paid for 6 days but due to flight delays I only had car rental for 5 days. Got car to find it had less than a 1-4 tank and trash shoved up under the seats and sand in floor boards. Notification of gas when I picked it up, was told that they didn't have time to fill it up, (didn't see the sand and trash shoved up under the seats till next morning) I took pictures of gas gauge and when I returned the car, had to prove why I didn't fill up the tank! Told them about the other issues, to no avail. Complain to Priceline about it but was pushed back to NU Car Rental who in turn said that I didn't let them know when I picked it up…BS. I n retuning I followed there rules to return it washed, vacuumed out, but I didn't fill the tank. Clerk that checked me back in was rude and wanted to know why I didn't fill the tank, which I showed him the pictures of the gauges when I picked it up. NU Car Rental charges $50 if you don't return car washed and vacuumed. Plus they charge a fee for the gas. I really don't want to even give them one star!
This website charged me for not staying at a horrible hotel. What i saw on the website was not real, what i was getting. The hotel is ugly, dirty, and people on it was not the best looking... i felt unsafe to stay with my wife so we left. We had to sleep at the airport parking lot. After all that i contacted Priceline via chat and they told me that the policy is there and that refund was not an option... priceline don't care about safety only to get peoples money. I will never use Priceline again.
I've been using Priceline since 2019 and I've reached their VIP gold level.
My account has been out of access since Sep 7, while I booked two trips on Sep 3 and canceled one trip on Sep 6. But suddenly, from Sep 8, I was not able to login into my account anymore.
The system keeps displaying an error message that my password or email is wrong. Even when I tried to reset the password, the system changed the password. However, when I try to log in with the new password it shows the same error message.
I spent more than 4 days talking with customer service, chat through the online system, and messaging via Twitter account. They kept saying that an account with that email address doesn't exist. I provided many emails and documents that clearly shows that I had such an account. But they didn't bother themselves to address the issue and just followed the written guideline and saying that that account doesn't exist and we cannot do anything.
I said ok, let's forget about it and create a new account using the same email address. I found out that Priceline doesn't allow me to create a new account using that email address because the system shows that I have an account using that email address. (See the attached Photos)
I talked with the customer service again. Their answer: There is not any account with that email address, we don't know why you cannot create a new account, and we suggest you use a different email address.
I even waited more than 2 weeks to try again. I said that it might be a temp issue or bug. But the problem is there yet. I talked again with them, and they said the same thing again.
In short: There is ZERO respect for a loyal customer that purchased all his trips in the last three years. They don't care and they don't feel your pain and don't listen to your issue. They just open a book and say the same thing that has been written for them. Total nonsense and disrespect!
When I went with Priceline on a trip to miami from Texas round trip. I was price gouged for an additional $70.00 on the rate they quoted me for for a carry on luggage that they insisted didn't cover the one bag. This should of been brought to my attention at first or I would of went elsewhere. I ever called them to ask what size maximum they would allow and they told me 9x11x I forgot the rest but I made sure the carry on was under that. When I called to address this issue. I got very unprofessional service with a rooster crowing in the background. Them hanging up on me three times and never wishing to make me a happy customer with the attitude we already got your money now shoooo! Will never use this company ever again and BEWARE if you are thinking you are paying one price and finding out it's costing 70.00 more!
I booked a room at a hotel, the first room had roaches, second room was ok but then when I woke up in the middle of the night I saw roaches around our bed and in our bathroom. We had to end up sleeping in our car. Paid almost $100 and all Priceline could do was offer a 15% coupon. Very disappointed in Priceline.
If you are considering doing business with Priceline. Save yourself the heat and just pay the extra few dollars and go with a reputable company… here is my story thus far. I am approximately 41 days or 6 weeks in with NO resolution…
This is my 12th call since August 3,2021 and each time I am told something different. I had a rental car that literally broke down on me and I received a replacement vehicle that I could NOT drive bc the registration was expired. I was stopped by the police and advised that I should not continue to drive this car. I complained to Thrifty only to be told I MUST report this to Priceline for resolution.
I began contacting Priceline on August 3,2021 and have continuously been given the "runaround" Ever since. Every call has ended with" I will email…. Dept and they will FollowUp with you directly. Only that the FollowUp has NEVER happened …
I have documented my last 3 phone calls. 09/09/21 Priceline Sr Customer Relations Rep Cris - advised he will escalate to "Priceline operations team bc Thrifty was paid using Priceline voucher and he is unsure what is meant by previous representatives note "Thrifty will refund customer directly"
09/13/21 - Marco Priceline no option for Priceline to process a refund. Can only email Thrifty but Priceline canNOT process a refund. Marco was also very rushed and rude. Customer disconnected call.
Called back for 3rd time on 09/13/21 - spoke
Terri - advised she sees the notes but I need to speak with Customer Relations directly bc she is unable to see emails. Transferred me to
Ron - Sr. Agent - still waiting
They don't reveal hidden charges like on car rental, we had to pay and additional $107 in fees for just a 4 day rental. They also have no concern or care for issues you may have using the hotels they recommend. Poor customer service!
Priceline charged me $20 more than the hotel charges for walk in rooms plus the hotel did not except Priceline payments at all when I requested a refund due to having to pay at the counter on arrival direct they refused
Travel Dates
08/28/21 to 09/04/21
Had booked a suite but when arrived on 8/28 gave me a non-suite room. I paid more money for a suite room but the hotel said there were no suite rooms available; one will be available on 8/29.
Called Priceline customer service, they did not help me. I said Priceline should refund me 1 day ‘stay, that too Priceline refused and did nothing to resolve the issue.
When I tried to book the suite room directly from the hotel website, suite room were available from 8/29 to 9/04, but when I went to Priceline, Priceline showed suite room available from 8/28 to 9/04. The hotel when I arrived told me there were no suite rooms available on 8/28, so Priceline lied to me when booking, when they knew there was no suite room available for 8/28.
I will never be using Priceline again as long as I am alive, even if I have to pay a little more, I will be booking, hotel/car/airline directly from respectively company website.
Worst customer service = Priceline.
They have no insider deals. They are just an advertising site. The advertise for some really really shady companies that will overcharge you. Buyer beware. It is better to book directly with a major compny.
I wanted to change my existing flights. When I went to the Priceline website, it said I have no upcoming flights. I called and the automated system said I have 4 flights reserved which is correct. The phone system would not let me talk to anyone since my flights were not within 14 days. I could not change my flights online since it said I have no flights. I tried the Find my flight option several times and it sent me in circles and still not able to find my flights. Useless. Will never book with them again.
I reserved a car thru PriceGOUGE. They increased the cost without my approval, and there's a no cancellation policy. AVOID. DO NOT USE. GET AWAY FAST!
I booked 2 rooms with via Priceline Trip for August 21st for 142.92/ night which seemed to be a great offer given the price ranges I came across while searching.
Priceline trip #: *******, *******
Hotel: Quality Inn. 3825 Boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel Quebec City QC G1P 2J4, canada
Booked for Saturday, August 21 2021.
Booked 2 rooms
Arrived at the Quality Inn hotel as planned only to hear that my name did not appear anywhere in their system or records. The staff from quality Inn did not look surprised at all, their reaction was very strange, they just took the time to advise us that Priceline had been cheating and ordering on their behalf without notifying them. And that the only option was for us to re-book with them
Of course the price per night had now doubled and only for 2 adults/ room (instead of 3 which is what I had paid for initially) and so I decided to enquire directly with Priceline.
The conversation with the staff at priceline was a complete nonsense. It was ridiculously obvious that they were trying to fool me around by transferring the calls and excuses to one another only to let me know that my booking could not be accepted by the hotel because there were no more availabilities. This was also a lie since I was there and could still see some customers walk in and book directly at the hotel. Priceline ended up saying that my booking had been cancelled but they actually cancelled it while I was on the phone with them live and not prior to that... When I asked who and why it was cancelled they were unable to respond. They said no information in regards to that was recorded in the system. This is probably the only company who cancels booking without any feedback or records of their employees or customer consent...
To date I am still waiting on my refund and had to re-book 2 rooms which I did but in another hotel as I could seriously sense the drama and game play between Holiday Inn and Priceline with the ultimate goal to make me book full price with them since I was running out of time.
Please do not be fooled. Priceline is using people's vulnerability and personal situations ( long drive fatigue, family with kids, no time to wait) to cheat on customers and put them on the spot with no other choice than ending up paying full price ( money that was initially reserved for the following activities planned during vacation)... My vacation plan is already spoiled at this point.
If you have also been faced with this issue and been cheated, please comment and reply so we can bring awareness and stop this fraud from happening so openly. I will never book again with Priceline and don't recommend anyone to do so either.
NEVER USE PRICELINE TO BOOK A HOTEL! I had a hotel reservation for 2 rooms with Priceline. The event I was going to was canceled due to a Covid outbreak. I canceled my stay 7 days ahead of time and Priceline refused to give me a refund. I literally called 10 times speaking to different agents to finally hear "we do not give refunds on hotels". I had to pay $274 for a hotel stay I didn't use. LESSON LEARNED, NEVER BOOK WITH PRICELINE!
Last night, I used Priceline (for the first time) to book a room at a hotel in the area where we were traveling. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that they were completely sold out. Further, since they had previous customers arrive with Priceline bookings, the manager had called Priceline to ensure that they stopped overbooking the property! Since my booking fee was non-refundable, I called Priceline to try an get my money back. They needed to talk to the front desk people (who were very busy booking in other clients), so that took a while. Then, I had to talk to their relocation people. The first person I talked to didn't have his tools working (!). The second person could find rooms on their system but when I had her call to confirm, she found out that they were also sold out. Thus, the Priceline system seems to be worthless. Eventually, she told me that she couldn't find a room and that she wouldn't book me into a higher price hotel without charging me the difference (seems really odd since it was totally a Priceline issue). After over an hour on the phone, I managed to get a refund. Then, I used Hotels.com to book a room. Never again will I use Priceline. William Shatner, you let me down.
I booked a room through this joke of a company and when I got to the hotel, they were without power and the room was at least 85 degrees. I have a heart condition and heat brings my blood pressure up and I had to sleep in my car with the AC on. They refused to give me a refund because the hotel wouldn't give them a refund. So they don't care about their clients! They care about their money. I'm a gold member as well. And the person I spoke with could barely speak English! This is our world today! Going to crap quickly. Nice work Priceline! You just lost a loyal, longtime customer! Never again you suck!
Worst ever... Totally all about them and how they can chisel you out of your money!
Have a reservation a month ahead and wanted to get the better rate they posted currently. The rate was over $ 240 cheaper than when I booked for the same car. I didn't try to cancel but just wanted the better rate. Screw you is their policy! Never ever will I go though this company again.
Do not use this money grubbing company. They need to experience this for themselves to appreciate just how P.O.ed I am. Customer service at it's worst!
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
