Petco is my preferred pet store for its wide selection of products, knowledgeable staff, and commitment to pet wellness. Whether I'm shopping for food, toys, or grooming supplies, Petco offers everything I need for my furry friends. I appreciate the convenience of their online ordering and in-store pickup options, as well as the frequent sales and discounts available to Petco rewards members.
Petco does let you use coupon received by email and does let you talk to manager at petco alway say that they are busy. And are rude and don't return phone calls neither make you wait on the phone for a long time. I won't being order from them again online. They also delivered my package to the wrong address and give me a problem with it when they made the mistake.

So I ordered my pet's arthritis medication through Petco.com because the price is half the price of the vet HOWEVER with my pets first refill not only was I charged TWICE but I was told that they had to confirm the prescription with the vet. I argued because even the bottle showed 3 refills. Why would they need another order from the vet?! Even the vet called me asking why this company was requesting a refill when they gave refills on the original prescription. I was told that even though there were refills they still needed to verify the refills with the vet. This to me means that refills don't mean a thing to Petco. As far as the double charge, Petco said they only charged me once so I had to dispute the second charge for the prescription. Now here it is 2 months later and I saw that Petco is refilling my pets anti-inflammatory medication without the headache of requesting a refill from the vet. As I mentioned they already approved refills. Anyway, again I am double charged for 1 prescription. Apparently they charge when they begin the refill process and AGAIN when they mail the medication. This time Petco took down my information so hopefully I won't need to dispute through PayPal but honestly I don't have much faith. I'm definitely going to keep track and get my money back. This whole process has wasted so much of my time I had to review it with the world. Personally I'd rather pay more than work with Petco prescriptions in the future. I can't wait until I'm out of refills! Buyer beware!

We took our pet into petco for grooming, she came back to us worst then when we took her in. They anal deflate her without our consent now she has an infection we believe and acting and shivering and a little agitated where we can't touch her without her being aggressive. She is in pain. Of corse petco said they did nothing wrong. As well as having shave marks on her neck and torso they claim it was because of our a puppy and the other puppy has not been that aggressive towards her and her at times she had long hair. Now we need to take her to the vet to fine out what is wrong with her medically. We are not happy at all.

For the second time in 3 months, an order I placed online for same day pick up has been canceled. When I place the order in the morning, the inventory is available, and a few hours later I get an email saying the order has been canceled. The first time this happened, I let it pass. This being the second time, I can no longer trust Petco to meet my pet care needs. As a result, I will be switching where I shop for my pet food and supplies.
On May of 2018 my daughter purchased a guinea pig at Petco and was told it was a female. If at a later time we wanted to purchase a companion we were advise to buy another female guinea pig. The following month my daughter bought a female guinea pig. However when she place the pet inside the cage the so called female guinea pig immediately attempted to climb on top of the one we had just purchase. We realize right away that the first guinea pig was really a male. Shame on you Petco, get your genders right.
I have been going to the Petco on Shepherd and 11th st. For years and I am completely over it. Tokay I was told by an employee that he could not help me get crickets that only the cashier can help me who had customers. Customers first right? The week before that I asked for 60 crickets, and noticed that there were less than I asked for. The guy that bagged the crickets charged me for 40 because he knew he was wrong but I still did not get what I asked for. There are never enough employees, they have a constant turn around of employyees every month. I have had enough. Finding a new location to get my animal products.
I called everywhere for male parakeets and they said they had them. When I get there they have no clue whether they we're male or female and worse yet they we're not handled at all. So it's been over 3 months and I can't even get near them. They should be handled by everyone so maybe you could have a pet instead of just a bird.

Petco is more expensive than the other pet store I go to. Not enough choices in a certain brand I like so now, I have to drive further p, but it's not worth going there
They have young girls in the grooming dept and they always cut my pugs nails too short, I stopped going there after I heard my dog crying from across the store. I was buying $60 worth of dog food a week, they lost a customer.
Every time I go to my local store I always have to tell them of the sales on their website. And half the time, I really should just buy it online and have it shipped to my house because the store locally is ridiculous and the employees are nasty individuals that don't really care about your pets, they only care about the money you are spending and would rathe ryou not save anything.
I sometimes shop at Petco for my tropical fish and filters, light hoods, etc.
It seems that when they have fish on sale - they usually are out of stock of many that are on sale.
Their tanks are hooked up on a community filtration system which means if there are sick fish in one tank - then the whole section is exposed to the disease.
Sometimes they have good sales - but I'm usually too afraid to buy them because of the community filtration system. When I do buy them, I put them in a quarantine tank for at least a month.
Sometimes enough live to make it worth the price and other times, I have to save the dead fish and take them back for a refund or credit towards supplies.
Everytime I go there there are Big Pallets taking up the main isle and always carts all over in the isles. Sometimes I can't even get my cart down an isle. It is not a good Safety Rule. And it looks so messy there. Nancy
Petco site kept freezing, couldn't take order, Petco than locked me out and didn't send email with a code to open my account. Chat not helpful.
Attempts to call up by phone and order took a ridiculously long time... an hour for one order? Never again.
Petco have large and variety collections of pets. But the pets are selling with high costly. For a middle income family people it will not be affordable.
I've shopped petco stores for years and just recently tried petco.com to save some time. Huge mistake. Website is not user friendly if trying to use the repeat delivery option. Coupon codes never seem to work, and shipping is always charged even though it is advertised as "free" with order over $49. This is a multi-million dollar company! If they can't figure out how to compile a user friendly website, I think it's time to move on to a company that does. Sayonara Petco!
The company was ok with their first boss that worked there when I arrived, she was a hardworking, well organized manager. But when she quit taking on a better job, the new boss was terrible at managing the company, managing employee’s times, and understanding the duties of each employee.
They have a large selection of products but the prices are expensive compared to other online pet stores. Other sites offer free shipping on all orders. I like to shop online but only if the prices are the same or less then my local store. I would not suggest shopping at Petco's online store.
