I love the pizza from Papa John's- thats why i keep ordering from this place, but it keeps getting worse and worse with everything else.
My main issue is that it seems as if they are not truthful with delivery times AT ALL. I ordered a pizza from a locale 1.3 miles from where i was, the person who took my order was very nice and polite, and told me that my pizza would arrive in 40 to 45 minutes. That is okay, I normally expect a 30 min+ wait, but i expect them to remain realistic about their wait times. One hour and 15 minutes later, I still hadn't received the pizza. I called the line dedicated to Previously Placed Orders- to which i received no answer, just a hang up. I called once more, same thing. I called the Make an Order Line, asking if perhaps they could help me, the person explained that there was nothing they could do, and they transferred me to the other line once again. Back on the Previously Placed Orders line, the line rung for a moment, before the call hung up. I considered calling the managerial number, but called back to the Make an Order Line, apologized, and asked if there was maybe something else I could do to get clarification. Once again, the person said they could not, apologized, and transferred me again. This time, the call picked up, but I was placed on hold. I waited for around 10 minutes in the hold.
I actually hung up and was about to call the Manager line, but my pizza arrived.
In all, I waited nearly 2 hours for a medium pizza when I was told it would take less than half that time.
I wouldn't find this as big of a problem if I had been told that it would take x amount of time FROM THE BEGINNING. Not only is this about being realistic, but I would not have placed the pizza had I known that it would take nearly 2 hours.
PLEASE be clear and realistic about the time it takes to deliver the pizza. This isn't the driver's fault or the cooks or anyone's specifically, I believe that this might be an issue with policy or something, because i have ALWAYS been told 35-45 minutes or so for the wait, and there have been previous instances when they go over the time, but NEVER as much as this time.
PLEASE make getting help easier, it is ridiculous that customers get NO answer, then get put on hold when an order is already over 30 minutes late, and have NO other way to know what is up with your order.
I called Papa John's on 80th and Sheridan, on Sat 1/1/22 and was told that it was closed. So I asked why since they website said they were open til midnight. The guy on the other side just said they were closed, then when I asked for his name he refused and started yelling, saying they were closed and that was it, asked if I had ordered a pizza because they had closed 30 minutes ago, (would have been 9:30pm) I said no, I was trying to order, then I asked for the manager then he said HE was the manager, I asked for the manager's name and again he refused again, upset and yelling he then said that they were closed due to inclement weather but granted roads were open and it was not snowing, by this time I was tired of getting yelled at, he then gave me the excuse that the GM gave him permission to close early. So what was it, they were closed at 10pm, closed at 9:30pm or did the GM give permission, or as the GM later said the drivers didn't want to deliver anymore. Ok if they were closed, why would you answer the phone? Period. Excuse after excuse with this guy. By this time I asked for the GM and guess what HE again said HE was the GM, I told him he was neither but an employee because no manager or GM would speak to a customer in the way he was speaking to me. I finally hung up and decided to to go to the location. I ended up going to the location today 1/3/22 and asked to speak to the manager or GM and apparently it must be the norm to allowed employees to speak to customers in whatever fashion they want and it's ok to pretend to be managers and/or the GM because the so called GM I spoke did not even seemed phased by what I told him. The so called GM agreed with all the excuses I mentioned that were given to me and then he gave me another excuse that the drivers no longer wanted to deliver. He wrote down his name to to say that we spoke and when I asked for cooperate, he wrote the store number. This is ridiculous, for a manager or GM to act like a customer is insignificant or that their words mean nothing is really a slap in the face. There are many other pizza places to choose from and its pretty sad a store or franchise or whatever they want to classify themselves as treats customers this way, especially in this time when their attitude can be the sole reason why their business fails and closes. I'm not saying the customer is always right but atleast have the decency to treat your customers with respect.
* Spend your money else, I recommend Marco's Pizza, 88th and Wadsworth, the employees there know how to speak to their customers!
This was by far the worst fast food experience I have had in my entire life. The manager on duty at the Lakewood office, Shauntel, Was very rude to me and actually hung up on me while I was still talking. Reading other reviews this is normal for her.
I ordered my pizza at 7:26 PM via the call center. I informed the call center that they could look me up at my previous phone number. I gave the call center my new contact information. The call center was able to look at my information that contain my old phone number and my current email address along with my old address. I discuss with the call center my new address. I was told that my pizza will arrive within 45 to 50 minutes. Normally when I place a Papa John's order I get a confirmation email sent to me. This time I did not. I ordered over $30 worth of things to feed my family.
At 8:48 PM I called a local Lakewood Papa John's and inquired where my delivery was. I was put on hold for about two minutes. The gentleman who answered the phone stated "my manager told me to tell you that the driver didn't have the gate code and they tried to call me but the number was disconnected.". I explain to the gentleman that I live in a parking lot with many entrances and exits there is no gate code. When you GPS my address on Siri or Google it literally shows a shopping lot. I also explained that I shared with the call center my new information. I explained to the gentleman that I also didn't get my confirmation email and wasn't sure that the order was even place to begin with. The gentleman asked if I wanted to speak with the manager because he only knows what she told him to say.
I waited an additional four minutes for the manager to pick up the phone. Shauntel reported to me that the driver did not have a gate code and my phone number was disconnected. I asked her what gate code she was referring to because I lived in an open parking lot and my apartment is literally right there. SHe rudely interrupted me and began to yell with the tone that her driver used his GPS and it showed that I had a gate code. I asked her if she was going to let me finish speaking or continue to interrupt me. I explain to her that I expect the same courtesy in return that I gave to her by allowing her to finish, while I silently listened. I explain to her that when you Google my address in any system it still shows the parking lot as it is a very popular area. I also explain to her the information that I gave to the call center that did not result in an email being sent to me to even confirm my order. Shauntel response was " Okay have a great night!" And hung up the phone.
I called back to get her name as I wanted to speak to someone about the way that I was just treated after I have waited over 1.5 hours for food, got no email to confirm my order, and was giving no resolution to my dilemma, and in fact was was disrespected. The lack of customer service from her was deplorable. The Young man who answered the phone told me to hold on while he got her name spelling and put the phone down. I then heard the manager yelling profanity in the background. Then she told him not to give her name. The staff came back and reported that he wasn't allowed to give her last name. I told him that I heard every rude thing that she said about me when he put me on hold. I told him that he had been nothing but helpful from beginning to end and I appreciated his kindness. I informed him that I would be making a report about the incident as no customer should ever be treated that way by someone who calls herself a manager. Not only was she disrespectful to me but she subjected her staff to Disgrace in her response to him.
If Shauntel is working, expect a nightmare.
None. I never got my order.
