They do what they say they do and sell a lot of overstocked merchandise and you can often get that merchandise at 30-40% off. The "Great Deals" are usually on smaller items. We have gotten patio umbrellas from them for $35 that normally cost $100. Pretty fun and easy site to use.

TOTAL SHAM OPERATION
September 5, 2017

Ordered a laptop. Arrived too late to use for the business trip for which I ordered it. Couldn't take it. Tried to set it up when I got home, but it was defective. Returned it with the guarantee I would get a 100% refund. Weeks later, after numerous emails, chat sessions, phone calls and complaints, I still have not received any refund. I'm filing a claim through paypal for the returned merchandise. Don't waste your time or money buying anything from this SHAM OPERATION!

Terrible

I ordered a Monty County side Table it cost me $70.64, I won't pay $5.00 for the damn thing! Then you said I went over my credit limit so you charged me $50.00 I don't know how the hell that could be, I been making regular payments! It doesn't look anything like the picture! It doesn't say it was going to be rustic style, its all used with nicked up used wood! I'm so unhappy with this! On the box it says it's a plantstand also which never said when I ordered it! Its made so cheaply! It would cost me more to send the damn thing back then its worth! Because of this I don't believe I'll be ordering anything from your company again I am so very angry! I won't be recommending your company to anyone any time soon! What a RIP OFF!

We have an unresolved issue with Overstock regarding fees that they charged to our merchant account regarding shipping. We provided proof given to us last year in regards to the new charges and customer support doesn't want to validate without given further information. Then, stop to communicate with us. I am calling every day and no one is answering the phone during business hours. I reach to someone today and she tried to unsuccessfully connect me with someone to no avail. We left messages via email and phone and still, no one reaches out to us. I also complained through BBB and still they did not reply. Very frustrating. Very unprofessional. Chat, emails, phone lines, all dead. We are pausing account. No one is there to resolve your issues

Received a very poor quality, but expensive piece of furniture that was botched heavily with different colored stain. Made in Vietnam. It made me feel sad, because I realized that a child or a slave could have fabricated it hastily. I contacted Overstock with pictures, and they offered a pathetic 15.00 "store credit" or to resend another POS piece of furniture and to "schedule" a pickup time with UPS to get the other one. Really? Some compensation! Time off work for a UPS pickup, and I have to accept another one? Um, no thank you. My business goes elsewhere!

I have been buying from them during a year. There are some nice products on their website. But after I ordered a dinning chair I was disappointed. It came broken! It's a pity that they send such products to the regular customers.

After one hour on the phone all they could tell me is they could not find my order
And they will re-=order same with another one week delay. These people are the worst!

I ordered a product that was supposed to be here a few days ago. Haven't gotten it yet but I saw this morning that the same product had gone on sale for about $35.00 less than I had paid for it. They said they would not adjust pricing and I could not return it. Last purchase for me with this company.

Worst Company

Ordered a bed in January and paid for expedited shipping. Shipping scheduled in March with a 4 hour delivery window. They called 10min out, 30 min after their very large window. Had to turn around to receive the item and they waited 3 min and left. Rescheduled delivery with a 5 hour window… no call, no show at all. Called 2 days later to let me know they forgot to load my bed frame in the truck and now needed to find another company to deliver with no future delivery date set. Customer service agent can barely speak English and kept reading off a script. Frustrating. Avoid overstock

I bought 2 plantronics headsets both were defective. I contacted the seller who emailed me RMA. I returned both the items but refunded my credit card for one item. I tried to contact them but no response. This company is a scam, mostly sells used/defective items. Beware before you buy anything from them.

Just DON"T order from Overstock! I ordered and paid for a mattress topper over 2 months ago. They claimed they told me in 10 days that the item was backordered... a LIE! I have been trying for 5-6 weeks to send this back as I'd ordered another one from a another company, could not WAIT! They first told me it would cost me $11.00 of my refund to pay the postage back to them, I told them I would not pay this. They are still jacking me around, telling me they'd sent label, which has never arrived.

I've had trouble with this company before, please don't order from them!

When I had just moved across the country, I had almost nothing, and certainly didn't have a bed. I had searched for weeks, but couldn't find anything within my budget that didn't look like dorm room furniture. Finally found a classy but well priced vintage, rustic bed frame AND a memory foam mattress for an incredible price on Overstock. Love it :)

In past years I bought a few things from Overstock that were 'ok' quality. Some lamps and chairs for guest rooms that don't get used too often. Not bad. Adequate. But lately, I've had to return a couple things that were not worth the money. And worse yet, they weren't the same quality items as were pictured. Word of warning... there seems to be some "bait and switch" going on with the sellers on Overstock. They picture a higher quality item online but when you get it you realize that it's a much inferior item that is shipped to you than what is pictured. I experienced this while in Bali years ago. They show you a beautiful piece and then when you agree to buy it, they take it away and "wrap it"... but what they're doing is wrapping a less quality item that you don't realize until much too late. I think some of the sellers on Overstock are doing the same thing.

We purchased a futon that has a left side and a right side. When we opened the boxes, each side was a different color. We contacted customer care and all we can do is ship it back or keep it. One box was cut open so packing it up would have been problematic. They offered to credit us $5 to purchase a new box. Really? I guess we're stuck with an ugly futon. We won't deal with a company that won't back up their products. I guess they don't need our business that badly.

Well they send me an Xbox one I've wanted for over 2 years and my mom finally got it. From here and it connected to the controller that came with it but if you try to sync another one the Xbox won't even do anything! It's broken and I have to send it back and hopefully get a working one! Thanks a lot for making my Christmas with a broken Xbox! Means a lot!

I ordered a stroller from here for a family member and it was reasonably priced since it was on sale and many of the items featured on the site are discounted, but it's best to catch the deal when you see them so you can get them at a reduced price. I may order stuff from Overstock again in the near future because of how they have a vast array of products for your home. I had a pretty good experience with customer service they're very helpful and at least you can talk to a live person who's American and not some call center in India or Bangladesh where they employ foreigners because they're cheap labor and don't have to spend much to train them and pay them a lousy wage. It's a great site to go on if you want to find something nice to give to someone as a gift or fixing up the house.

Ordered an emergency food kit at $450. Five days later, received an email that it was not going to be sent out within the 2 guaranteed days. Eight days from order, I contacted customer service via chat to inquire on status. Told it would be shipped in 3 days. Three hours later, I received an email that it is out of stock and they are cancelling my order. But... they gave me $5 off my next order! SMH. What a sham!

Broken merchandise
January 11, 2019

I ordered and received my 4 place setting dinnerware sets. When I opened the box one of the bowls was broken. Contacted customer service and sent picture of damaged goods. Overstock would not replace the bowl, leaving me with only 3 place settings. Overstock offered $10 as compensation. I told them to keep their $10. Bunch of clowns.
This was my first and LAST purchase from OVERSTOCK.
Highly recommend spending your money with another on line retailer.
BUYER BEWARE

Update: 1/30/19. Steve from Overstock contacted me and sent a replacement bowl. I am pleased with the company's response. I believe Overstock personnel saw this review I posted on Sitejabber and were persuaded to do the right thing. Big Thanks to both of these companies!

Had to try buying from Overstock once, but won't do it again.
First of all - my order wasn't even shipped until a few business days after our order was placed.
Spent over $200 for one King set of sheets and one Queen set of sheets.
Received 2 King Sets. Not going to argue with them about it - we'll use both sets on our King bed even though one isn't the right color for the room.
All I really wanted was for them to send what I ordered.

I applied for an Overstock credit card based on a 24 month zero interest promotional offer. I opened the credit card account and purchased furniture using this promotion. However, my first statement included a 25% interest rate if I didn't pay the entire purchase amount in full. When I contacted both Overstock and the credit card company, they just said there is no promotion associated with my account and could not give me the financing which I was eligible for. I opened a credit card for no reason; I paid off the full balance and closed the account. I will never shop with Overstock again.
