Complete lack of business integrity
February 10, 2017

My suggestion: other than disputing the charge through your credit card company, you may also want to contact Klarna. Apparently the payment processing company Klarna was responsible for processing all online payments for onlineshoes.com. If you look at the bottom of your onlineshoes.com order confirmation (from any purchase you have made from onlineshoes.com) it says:

You can contact Klarna by email via their customer service contact form. Copy and paste this link https://www.klarna.com/us/customer-service/customer-service-mail-form which will take you directly to their customer service contact page. Simply fill out the form and mail it. You can also contact their customer service department by telephone at 1-844-KLARNA-1 or *******810.

I would suggest that everyone do this. They are just as responsible for our "lost" money as is onlineshoes.com. Bankruptcy is not an excuse for denying legitimate refunds (especially to those like us who shipped back product shortly before their closure - items which are now lost in limbo, with no one to receive them and process them for refund.) The more complaints they get the better! I am also hopeful for a class action lawsuit.

Here is the email I sent to Klarna (feel free to use the same template for your complaint):

I want to know what you plan to do with regard to my onlineshoes.com purchase which was processed with your payment system on behalf of onlineshoes.com for order number X******* in the amount of $272.88 charged on 12/18/16 at 11:08 pm. Apparently, onlineshoes.com, uses "Klarna to process payments because it provides our customers with a quicker and easier checkout," as stated on my confirmation email from onlineshoes.com, who unexpectedly, unilaterally, and without warning suspended operations and closed on 1/27/2017. (I returned my purchase for refund days earlier via a prepaid return label provided by onlineshoes.com. Since they suspended their operations while my return was on route, my return was not processed. I am now out both the shoes and a full refund!) I expect a response asap. I would suggest you formulate a plan to address this issue both for myself and others like myself, as I would expect, and you should anticipate, a class action lawsuit being filed against you, identifying you as a participant in this onlineshoes.com scheme. If I do not hear from you, I, myself, will be filing suit against you to recoup my $272.88. Your probably wondering why I would consider spending money suing yourself for such a nominal amount. It's not the money, it's the principal! Should you choose not to respond to this and others, it will catch up with you sooner or later. I am sure I am not the first person to bring this issue to your attention. However, on the slim chance that I am, I will make sure to spread the word as I plan on posting your site on the web as the "go-to' for refunds, which I hope will lead to a barrage of emails like mine to your attention. Along with that class-action lawsuit I mentioned earlier.

I hope this helps everyone! GOD Bless!

Beware: Onlineshoes.com is a really terrible company
November 5, 2016

3rd (& final) Update: Received an email from onlineshoes.com stating that the size of shoe I wanted was not in stock (but the shoe is still for sale in the size requested at their site, hmm...) Further, while the company said to expect a refund within 7 days, I thought 'nope - you'll refund my money *right now*', so I opened a dispute with my credit card provider & had my money back inside of 2 hours. Next, I contacted the manufacturer of the shoe who offered to sell me the same pair, in the proper size, at the same price & then apologized for this 'unnecessary hassle' & now have the parcel's tracking number in hand even as I write this. Good greif - what onlineshoes.com could not get done in 2 weeks, someone else did before the sun set in a single day...

Bottom line:. Onlineshoes.com has utterly awful 'customer service'. They claim a 48 hour wait time to respond & then never reply at all. At least 5 attempts to contact them by phone resulted in very nearly 2 hours of waiting on hold with no one ever answering the phone. Onlineshoes.com will gladly sell you shoes they do not stock & then take several days to refund your money unless you open a dispute with your payment provider. Onlineshoes.com will send you unwanted spam email after you've asked them to stop. Someone at onlineshoes is working to stem the tide of customer complaints, but only in area's where their lackluster actions are publicly exposed. They repeatedly wanted to talk to me privately rather than via their site instead of simply addressing their many problems openly (psst - 'customer service' I can't fix your problems you actually have to send the shoes, besides you have my info, you very well could've contacted me via email or phone concerning my order, very ignoble of you to pretend otherwise).

See a trend here? I've downgraded my onlineshoes.com rating from 2 stars back to a 1 star rating. Onlineshoes.com are simply not cognizant of their customers needs in anyway at all. I recommend you do not purchase from onlineshoes.com & look elsewhere instead.

Rant over, that's a wrap for me. onlineshoes.com, you've permanently lost me as a customer.

2nd Update: About 30 hours after posting my original review (shown below), I received an email from www.shoes.com (apparently they own that site too) that reads in part:

'Our customer service line has been really busy lately but it is something we are trying to work on.'

And went to ask me to contact them there. Very confused as to why I've been asked to deal with this at another site & why I ought to contact you there instead. Fact is, I've tried at the site I first ordered from - you wont answer your phones, & your canned responses to my email inquiries always say to expect an answer in 48 hours. Look - just get folks their shoes, that's what everyone wants right? If you want a good review from me - by'golly you'll earn it like the rest of us must in real life. C'mon now... take care of business & all else follow. But I'll be fair here... I'm raising this post from a 1 star review for shoesonline.com to a 2 star rewiew. Want more stars? Then get off your patootie & get busy! The ball is in your court. Good luck & stay tuned for more updates...

1st Update: Less than 10 hours after creating my original review here, I received an email from customer service indicating they had my return & it was expected to begin processing within 2 to 7 days & to expect another email then. It appears someone is reading the poor reviews here & trying to at least give the impression of addressing customer concerns. Certainly that's a step in the right direction, yet I can't help but wonder: If you can respond quickly once reading your customer's thoughts at a 3rd party site, wouldn't your time be better spent serving your customers properly in the first place? Seems like an unnecessary duplication of effort, nevertheless good luck, more updates to come. Stay tuned...

Original post: Darn, I loath writing this review... after ordering a pair of shoes from onlineshoes.com the following happened:. Multiple charges to my credit card (extra charges were later mysteriously removed however). Multiple attempts to contact 'customer service' via phone (they never answered). Multiple attempts to contact 'customer service' via email (they never answered)

The shoes were much too small. Next I returned them as per their instructions using the prepaid shipping label & included the exchange form requesting the new size. I then attempted to recontact 'customer service' both by phone & email to ensure they were processing my return for an exchange. (I know they have in fact received the return as I've tracked the package to its destination). I've received no confirmation, none...

And finally, while 'customer service' wont respond, they continue to send unsolicited email advertising the exact shoe I ordered despite requests to be unsubscribed.

I'll make sure to update this review, hopefully with positive remarks, detailing how they handle the exchange & if I had to open a dispute with my credit card company to regain lost (stolen?) funds, so readers can better understand what they're dealing with.

onlineshoes.com the world will be watching this post, please stand up & do the right thing.

Tip for consumers:

Stay away from onlineshoes.com!
