Called Customer service Monday morning (4/26/21) to get a few questions answered, no wait, and now that I have the product I can see they gave me good info. Purchased 12 feet of heavy vinyl, ordered 10am Monday, received shipped notice on Thursday and received on Friday before noon (standard shipping, I am on the East Coast so shipping distance not too far). The item is exactly what I expected! Not sure why some have had a bad experience, so sorry to read that, but I am completely satisfied and will remember this store for future needs.
Ordered fabric and 8 weeks later still no fabric. Just an email every 2 weeks that the fabric is out of stock. If you have a deadline on a project don't shop here. The online store doesn't have live stock updates. So it's very likely you'll buy something out of stock. Thanks to them I lost a contract and when called to tell them what happened and that I'd like to cancel the order they didn't even apologize or try to fix it somehow.
Item arrived over 2 months after ordering, in that time 3 separate pending charges appeared and then disappeared on my card before I was finally actually charged about a week before it was shipped.
The actual fabric is fine and was what I was looking for. However, between the incredibly long shipping time and rather odd behavior with my bank, there are other stores I would much rather give my money and credit card information to.
I do not recommend anyone to buy online at this business, I ordered a product with them two weeks ago and nobody gives me information about my order, when you call customer service they leave you waiting for a long time and then they hang up, no longer i don't want nothing from them just my refund
At this stage in the pandemic, it's really not an excuse for the type of things going on with the order I placed with this shop. Placed an order 11 days ago. The payment never even showed as pending. What I was ordering was out of stock everywhere but here and has since come back in stock elsewhere. The phone lines are completely tied up- I expect waits in excess of an hour if I were calling the post office or a government agency right now, not a retail website. Edit: After posting this review, I got a response to my e-mail requesting an order cancellation, which was granted, so I'm adding a star.
In April I ordered two different types of outdoor fabric for chairs. After repeated attempts to contact someone I finally received a reply that I would receive my fabrics by mid July. When the order finally came, only one of the fabrics was delivered, which was the one that I was going to use for piping. The packing slip simply told me that the main fabric was out of stock. Total lack of communication. What on earth was I going to do with one part of the order? I have been shopping in the Osgoods store since the later 1960s, and this was a real shock to me. I will think long and hard before returning. The communication was almost non-existent.
Very disappointed, ordered 4 weeks ago and still waiting for my purchase. Contacted the company they said it was to be delivered last week, no show. Almost another week has passed and I'm still without my fabric.
My crafting project cannot be completed for me to use the product because my order was incompletely sent.
Though I had ordered black mosquito fabric along with Velcro, fabric glue, and adhesive tape, all items were sent but the mosquito fabric (which was the most important component of my project). I was not forewarned that the fabric was sold out before my order shipped, I simply received an incomplete package.
I had emailed the company as to why I had not received my full order on June 25th. It is now July 14th. I understand that responding to me may take longer due to the pandemic, but 19 days is pushing it. I get the sense that they're ignoring me to save face, which is bad customer service.
If by poor fortune a company finds that they've sold out of a product, the customer needs to know. And if a customer makes a complaints, it is poor customer service to ignore them.
(I have put two stars because they did not charge me for the item they did not ship. But I will not be buying from them again. They are unreliable.)
My order took over a month and customer service never responded to my emails. I'm also missing a zipper i ordered. Don't waste your time.
My order did not take as long as others I have read about, but the shipping time was still unacceptable. I expected some delay given the Covid situation but not as long as I waited. No tracking information was available and I tried several times to make contact via phone but was unable to talk to a representative. My order finally arrived missing an item. I emailed Online Fabric Store and received the explanation that this item could not be fulfilled due to Covid. Hopefully, I will receive a refund for this item. The other items I ordered fit the description on the website, hence my two star rating and value for money. I will source future supplies from a different supplier in the future.
I checked out their FAQ and shipping info three times over before placing an order, because I needed the fabric by a certain date for a big event coming up. It says that fabric is usually cut and dispatched within 24 to 48 hours, and then takes 5-7 business days to arrive in the US with standard shipping, and that they will send a tracking number once shipped. Perfect. One week goes by and nothing, so I email them on a Friday morning. Monday comes around and I don't hear back, which is fine. I try their "live chat" and don't get a response after a couple of hours. I then Google the company and see tons of bad reviews. I give them a call, and after spending 18 minutes on hold the representative tells me my fabric will "probably ship by the end of the week" (two weeks from the purchase date). So I had to cancel the order, and I'm supposed to get a confirmation email. If I had gotten an email notifying me that the fabric was out of stock a week ago, or it didn't take so much effort to contact them about the order I would have not hesitated to give them more stars.
While I like their stuff, EVERY TIME I've ordered from them, there's a subsequent shortage and I end up on backorder for months for my purchase. Wish I knew ahead of time that I wasn't going to have my outdoor tablecloth for summer (likewise my $100 of outdoor fabric for an awning). Annoying.
NOT FOR CANADIAN BUYERS!
This is the first time I bought fabric and sewing supplies from onlinefabricstore, the overall experience is good, the shipping is fast, but when UPS delivered the package, I was asked to pay $37 brokerage fee for a purchase of $87.20, almost 42% of the total merchandise. I have purchased fabrics from other online fabric sources in the States to ship to Canada, some of them also use UPS, I have never been asked to pay brokerage fee. Plus, I have to pay the shipping charge of $25,03.
Onlinefabricstore is not a good fabric source for Canadian buyers. I won't buy from them anymore.
Very disappointed in customer service! Ordered fabric and paid extra $20 for 2nd day shipping. Did not received my order for 6 days. When called was put on hold 2 times with no help. Definitely lost customer of 3 years.
I guess I'm lucky. Of three items purchased, I was e-mailed & told that two of the items were back-ordered. When my shipment arrived, it had two of the items (but not the third). The third item still hasn't arrived after 3 weeks... and, like with so many other people, neither e-mails or phone calls seem to work.
Great products, I must say, and great prices. That's the only thing that prevents me from giving them a 1-star rating. Terrible customer support (and it seems their warehouse people either are either too dumb or don't care to do their jobs properly).
Just makes me more resolved to shop locally. May cost more, but why contribute to perpetuating this downward spiral (you all know what I'm talking about!) where everything - product quality, customer service, integrity - is just going to hell in a handbasket? Not to mention that spending locally creates & supports local jobs! (OK... I'm done.)
The first time I called I was able to get a customer service representative. I was going to be out of town and waned to delay the shipment. The rep I talked to did a good job and said the delayed shipment would not show on the email confirmation, but she would indicate that the order should not ship till the specified date. I never got a email confirmation and called several times and could not get a rep -- left messages -- no one called back. I sent an email and got no response. The 22 yards of fabric showed up very quickly (order was NOT delayed to specified date). Fortunately it arrived on the last day I was in town so I was here to receive it. The fabric was correct fortunately, but they have no customer service -- not sure how they can function their business that way.
I had an order from a client - HGTV - my first ever with such a prominent customer. I ordered swatches from onlinefabricstore.net, and they came quickly. Picked out my fabric, placed my order, and paid extra (a lot extra) for 3-day shipping. 2 days later, I receive a call saying they didn't have enough in stock. (The day after it should have shipped?) So I'm like, okay. I pick a different fabric - WITHOUT seeing a swatch - order it, and request 2 day shipping at no cost. They say okay. Next day, I get an email that my order has partially shipped, and my ordered quantity was 0. Zero? So I call them again, sure enough, a mistake. Nothing has shipped. So they say they'll get on it, and have it to me next day, to keep on schedule with my original order. This morning I get a shipping notice letting me know my package has shipped, and will be here on Monday. It is over a weekend, so that's 2 extra days! HGTV is filming their show in 2 weeks, so I have less than that to finish the project and have it shipped across the country. If I can keep a deadline, so should my suppliers. NEVER WILL I ORDER FROM THIS SITE AGAIN. It's not worth it. Order from a different site - fabric.com, syfabrics.com, bigzifabric.com,... they're all great. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER onlinefabricstore.net
I ordered fabric on April 19 and actually did get it today. Unfortunately, I got no shipping confirmation and had a heck of a time trying to contact them for information. By the time I finally got someone on the phone (three calls and 20 minutes of "hold" each time), the fabric was within 15 minutes of delivery to my house.
Their prices were great and I did get exactly what I ordered; however, I would like a little more communication as to the status of my order. I couldn't even track it on their website because "tracking information was unavailable for this order." If I could have tracked it, I'd have felt a lot more confident that I could finish a major decorating project on time.
I might think twice about using the site again, although I was able to save about 40% on the cost of fabric.
