“Wish I had a better experience”

I had been going to this dental office for a while now. It has been OK until I had my procedure done. They told me that all I had to pay on the day of visit and I paid my portion. I received a bill a little over a month later and on the letter, someone hand-written in that I had to pay the remaining portion that they told me I didn't have to pay. It also said that I had to pay it by mid October otherwise, it will be turned to collection agency. I had called and stopped by their office and was getting no where. They told me that because I was still communicating with them, it would not be turned to collection agency. Well, they lied, the operation director did it, sent it to collection agency. They didn't even try to communicate with me. Now they are trying to collect interest also. I am disheartened that a dental office, a healthcare office would do that. What happened to our healthcare? How can people still trust any dentist for providing treatment? I believe we have rights as a patient/customer. If a patient disagreed with a charge, they should have right to ask questions without being threatened. I was forced to sent payment because if I don't pay, they will report it to affect my credit. I work very hard to keep my credit and they have no right to ruin it. I hope someone can stop this place from doing wrong. After I was treated so badly, I went online and read others' review. Sadly to say, others have had similar experience. Thank you for listening.
