This is a great dating site to find serious love partner. Most profiles are real people. Dated several there and married one too.
People don't respond much on here and they want more money to have you profile shown more often when others are searching. I pause 59 for the subscription what a waist of money never again
Those who are looking for love can meet each other on the free dating site OkCupid. Since 2008, OkCupid has been the highest rated app in the Apple App Store. In addition to assisting you in finding love, OkCupid wants to do so on your terms. OkCupid has a tonne of features that make finding love simpler than ever before, including hundreds of questions and answers that can help you determine if someone is perfect for you.
I took my mates advice and signed up to a few extra sites as used to only have a wejustfit membership. I was getting quite a lot of interest and a few dates with that site but now ive added tinder and okcupid and TBF I dont see a big difference yet. It's a B- from me ATM as I do like some things but hopefully the dates will come soon as ill be much busier on weekends! Finding someone nice to settle down with doesnt happen over night thats for sure lol
OkCupid is a great place to meet new people, especially if you are looking for something casual or casual/dating relationships. OkCupid offers many different tools to help you find the right match. It's also one of the most popular dating sites in the world and has been around since 2004.
The best online dating sites help you make friends as well as romantic connections. It is a great site for finding connections, but it's not the only one. We've compiled a list of the best free and paid dating sites to help you find your perfect match this Valentine's Day.
So Far So Good, I found some decent dates off this site. I would highly recommend this for any single guys. But we are poly and that does make it hard for me and my wife to find someone else.
Founda whole load of good people on the there wanting a chat, make friends, date, more successful then any other site.
The down side is that some ladies dont give you a fair go! I found i would send the first introduction message and then they would simply put "sorry your not my type" those people must be really good judge of character and know everything about me im sure... lol know wonder there always single
I think it's pretty good and I know couples who met on Match. Another good one is wejustfit.com, a bit smaller but my cousin married a guy from that site so it's not always the best known sites that work, it's more about the quality of singles I s'pose. Try it, you can thank me later ha ha
Been using OKC for 3 years now. The search options are excellent, Interface is good... There are a lot of opportunities and space to present yourself to others. Matching questions are so obviously done by professionals. Liberal $#*!s, but still professionals. The only downside is that it is not that much popular service, where I live, thus number of users is pretty much limited. Still, they seem to be more intellectual. Only recently the changes made it a little worse. You can't see messages, until you match with that person, if you write a message to someone, you can't see their profile in search or even in messages anymore, until eventually replied, you can't hide people... Therefore a 4 star rating from me
There is a lot to like about cupid.com, the app, the number of active users, the low cost. I tend to but a months subscription every 6 months to see how I get on, been doing that for years. Sometimes I drop off after the month, other times I keep it going. I've had a lot of luck recently with a great site called WeJustFit that's a bit more under the radar, so I've not been trying as many sites as usual, but signed up to Cupid today for my half yearly check and it's good to see
I must say I have been quite impressed by okcupid. As someone that's quite new to online dating I've only tried wejustfit.com and this one. Both are excellent and I've found a variety of interesting people to speak to and even meet in person. I wouldn't quite say that I've found my 'knight in shining armour' yet but I believe that having two sites that have plenty of members in my area (Kensington) really give me the best possible chance. Here's hoping anyway! Best x
Being a free dating site is nice. What is not nice is the thousands of assessment questions you have the opportunity to answer or not, but they are what the site uses to determine your "match percentage". Many of the questions are repetitive or just plain stupid. After getting an additional 200+ "likes" within two weeks of changing my profile picture so guys would know what I look like from the front, I concluded that the assessment questions were also irrelevant for a lot of users. I did go on dates with 7 different men from OKCupid, but didn't find Mr. Right, and didn't feel like wasting any more time on there.
I have had some bad experiences with OKC but overall found the site itself useful to meet new people. I'd always recommend to use more than ons site to increase your chances of meeting someone. POF and Mingle2day are nice add-ons.
Remember it's a free site, so it will attract more scammers. Simply know what to look for with scammers and you should be fine. Having tested close to 100 paid and free dating sites and apps and owned 40 of my own, OKC is my preferred dating site - free or not. Frankly, all dating sites have scammers but the free ones will always have more. Good luck to all.
OkCupid has still got it, I had a great date last night and feeling positively giddy this morning haha! Doing well at the moment, had a date last week with a guy from wejustfit.com and that went well too. I'm like bridget jones in one of her good phases hahaha long may it continue!
Quite liking this dating site. Not sure it's as good as my all time fave wejustfit but it's not far off. Some really nice people on their and a good way to kill time, I just spend my commute to work firing out messages & doing searches then. By the time I get home I usually have a reply, although not always of course. Quite happy with it. B. McAuley, 27, Stirling
Really pleased with OkCupid I have to say. Id rank it up there with WeJustFit.com in terms of selection of girls/ number of fakes/ variety of functions/ mobile site/ etc. Think those are pretty much the cream of the fun dating crop at the moment, although im still due to try a couple of new ones in the coming months. Would recommend.
OkCupid is by far my favorite of all the sites Ive tried and Ive had the most success on it despite currently being single. It offers options other sites dont like narrowing down your search criteria to specific groups and types as well as giving a person the freedom to choose between a variety of sexual orientations and preferences. It may not seem like a big deal to most people, but other sites flat out exclude certain groups due to their lack of options. Im not poly or in an open relationship, but some people are and not all of them are swingers for god sake! If you are looking for a site thats not as vanilla as the mainstream dating sites and no where near as hardcore as some others, OkCupid might be a good choice for you.
The site is like many others, many fake profiles so need to be careful while looking for that special one. But it's easy to use, and why not to try?
I was on okcupid during several month, but did not find someone for relationship. I can't tell anything bad about this service.
I'm new here, and hopefully can find a good friend/partner. I hope that I read wrong from the negative reviews.
I have been on and off this site often. Years ago it was designed by programmers, like myself, great concepts of matching with questions - and Free! Well, it still has the same stuff, now owned by Match.com - even saw job openings on match to work on okcupid site...
I have written well over 250 messages personally addressed to each person, sharing interests, and asking only to type more or meet if they like. My profile is honest, and portrays me exactly, I am a nice guy, clearly state I would like to get to know someone with long-term intentions - no interest in FWB/short-term fun ever. I've even had compliments on my profile - yet, by women outside the state or my dating age range - so no reason for them to lie...
Too Picky - my conclusion based on writing so many whose profile literally sounds as if it was written describing me - such that anyone who knows me would agree, that this person sounds like they were describing me... yet - not even a reply. My only conclusion is they are looking for Mr. Perfect, not even willing to share some conversation.
The facts - Of those written, less than 5% are Asian - and yet, in 5 years of looking (1999-2000, 2012-2013, 2015-2016) - the only replies I have ever had have been Asians. I guess they don't get as many messages so the odds are in my favor? I have met 2 Caucasians, and not a single date beyond a meeting... Why so picky? So - ladies - reply, like what do you have to loose and you might actually find you like the guy, me...
The greats: Question matching - and comments, it is a lot of fun to read through comments and answers of potential dates. At one time, back in 2014 I was well over 6,900 questions before I met a gal on a different site who was pissed when she saw me disabling my profile - made me delete it. Found numerous articles about how to find the right gal - answer only those questions you really need to know - not all of them. Too late now as I'm over 1000 now again...
The bad: Messages - they've messed this up, difficult to use - takes 3 clicks to see if someone read your message now... hope they simplify it.
Some of the search features I really question. Searches also - seldom return correct results - run it once and get a few results - less than 8 once, and the same search query ran the prior day gave two pages of results.
The question algorithms that do the matching - also block results at times, not consistent. There should be a way to disable question pre-filtering of search results - so we can do non-question matched searches... this does not exist.
The worst: - need more women there who are actually looking for a long term relationship
OKCupid - is one of the best designed, could be best overall as it literally, assuming the questions are answered honestly - matches two people on how they feel on stuff. The problem is, there are not enough new ones there. Many faces I have seen in 2000 and 2012.
Tip for consumers:
Answer the questions honestly. Skip questions that are not related to values you 'must' know, or not truly important. Answer multiple areas too, not just dating and sex...
And ladies - be kind, reply to a guy who writes you - even if you do not want to hear from them.
This site does not do wonders, if you are in a bad spot on the dating market, this site won't improve it, but more likely point out that you are in a bad spot.
On this kind of sites there are always scammers. I saw them usually being removed within 24 hours.
The site is basically free which gives enough options to communicate with people. Be aware nothing is really free so to use the best features you need to pay. That cannot be a surprise.
The match questions can be very usefull or very silly or too complicated to answer with a multiple choice action. Don't answer queries you do not want to answer, there are thousands so just skip these.
Also many questions are USA-based. The company is USA-based, so the obvious questions about Trump, gun control, mansplaining, micro-cheating are popping up like popcorn.
However the questions have been set up very broadly. If you are a devout christian, you can answer that you want to keep chaste till the wedding, intelligent design is science and are against abortion.
If you are a heteroflexible polyamorous atheist, who loves annilungus, who thinks capitalism is bad and trees have souls you also might find your match.
Did not help to me. Lot of people just hanging out without any will to find real relationships;-(
I been a member on Okcupid for quite a few years tho before rarely used the site maybe logged in a few times.
But have started to use it a lot more now over the past year in general i don't have many complaints its a better site than many of the others i have tried and this site seems to have better standards
Admittedly i am a bit annoyed about the new messaging system i mean before if someone sends a message it would be in your inbox but unless you both like each other you wont see the message until you have scanned the double take ( tho in double take you can see the person who sent message) once you like that person then you can start communicating it is a biit of a pain in the a$$ but still its better than some other sites
I had met 1 lady from this site in the past tho we only ended up as friends so at least i made a friend from the site.
Currently i am chatting to 3 ladies all is going well and i do find that the ladies on this site are more real maybe more educated or on the level compaired to other sites
There is also a lot less gold diggers and from what i hea a lot less perverted old men looking to play with the young girls so thats a bonus.
But problem i do find with this site is its performance in terms of loading sometimes it will take a bit of time for the site to respond when i click the read more from my gmail account or when site is loaded it takes some time for the message box to appear also i find sometimes that when sending a message i get the error no responce and message not sent
Other than that i don't really see any other problem with the site i have no real complaints i admit it wuld be nice to have a little more choices without having to pay but nope i cannot complain
So hopefully i will soon get to meet one of these girls i am chatting with.
So to all the daters out there i will say good luck on finding your man/lady
When looking for girl online there is only one place on start and it's here. Sure, there are a few hidden gems out there (e. G wejustfit.com) but overall OkCupid is what you need to meet a girl. I love it!
