Another level jacket. OMG i love it. I ordered online. Didn't expect it was so nice. It come with gloves, come with scarf, comes right before winter, make me cozy for my freezing Canada winter... The best part is it looks cute on me... great price as well. Not those cheap ones in the mall. More than my expectation. Definitely good buy.

I excitedly purchased one of their jackets since it seemed like an excellent product. Turned our the quality was much lower than expected and sizing was not great - have been trying for several weeks now to get a refund no luck. They give approval for your refund, take your product back, and then disappear. It's a pretty nice scam they're running here - I hope they get what deserve. Oh and good luck trying to get a response from them.

I ordered this as a kickstarter in July, expecting delivery in October. Nothing came. Emailed them, replied that my order had gotten lost in the mail, and they would ship me a new order within 10 days. Now, this reply was sketchy because these coats were made for consumers who had already paid. They don't really make extras, from what I understood. 10 days came and went. Still nothing. Now it's the end of October, it's cold. I want a winter coat. Email them again. They apologize again, saying they are shipping within 10 days again. And they offer me 40% off my next order (ha ha). I respond saying that, at this point, I just want my money back and that it feels like a total scam. They never answered me again. Had to go through my credit card company to get a reimbursement. Such a hassel.

This company is fantastically horrible. Not only is their product cheap, but their customer service (which is exceptional before your purchase) is unbelievable horrible afterwards. If you're trying to get your money back then good luck. It takes days to get a response, and they are poorly worded with little to no direction. The provided telephone number doesn't even work. It's been over three weeks since purchasing and I still don't have my money back. These guys are a disgrace to Canada - do not buy a single thing from these guys, nothing about them is remotely professional.

Have emailed the company many times. Today I finally filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. Company has raised millions in successive Kickstarter campaigns and expanded sales in Canada and the UK but still hasn't followed through for original backers. Communications seem evasive. Waiting for refund and if they ever do send, I'll be certain to demand a full refund. This company has done nothing to demonstrate ethical or honest customer service.

Backed this company via Kickstarter. Product was super late (winter was very much over), sent the wrong size, returned with tracking, accepted, return and then... NO REFUND. Many emails, and after a while they stopped responding.

The product was awful to start with, and you can get much better, for cheaper. I would run away from this company.

Do not be fooled by the pictures... the ratty faux-fur trim puts the coat in Walmart-on-sale league. Genuinely disappointed.

The coat is not worth 300 bucks. When the campaign started, it was promising, but the end product is very cheaply manufactured. Their customer experience is awful. They failed to return your money once you returned the coat, so I had to go through my credit card dispute company. I do not know why people are putting fake reviews of 5 stars lol.

PS. Fake reviews? What does that mean? Just because you're not happy doesn't mean others can't be satisfied with their products. There were almost 9,000 backers of the project and a rough estimate of 500-1000 were not happy. The rest remained quiet and happy.

I backed the kickstarter camping. I decided to send the coat back for a refund because 1) it was too big and 2) the faux fur around the hood was pitiful. I followed their directions to email, give my email and order number, get a return ticket and then send my jacket back to their facility in Toronto. Once the jacket was delivered my return would be processed. Only it never was. I then got the run around from the whole company. At least 10 different people all said they would look into it' but nothing was ever done and I was never refunded. Worst customer service experience ever.

I was approved for an exchange, and as seen with others that have left a review on this company, I never heard from them once the coat was sent back. I filed a complaint with the FTC, and I would encourage anyone else having issues with this company to do likewise.

This is the second review for this company. I am still waiting for my full refund. I have sent Amanda thorn all documents required by them. No response as usual. We are going on the third year! BBB gives this company an F rating. For as many people they have sold coats to, they have stolen money from the same amount. Their product is expensive for the average person and when someone trust a company and sends them the amount of money they require for a coat, it seems that the company would be able to back their product in an honest way. There is no customer service no matter how far up the chain you have to go. The owners of the company refuse to acknowledge the poor management of the customer service and those who lead it. I am going on three years now trying to get my full refund back for a coat I sent it back. The BBB has filed several complaint reports for this company and they do not even get responses. Maybe a class action suit is now the answer. There are enough of us who have been cheated that if we put our minds together we can put this company out of business or at least pay us our money that is due. If anyone is interested in a class action suit please contact me.

I don't have to say much, you can just read the other reviews along with the comments on kickstarter. The company makes promises and rarely ever deliver.

Thank you for voicing your opinion. But with all due respect, it is not fair to say that we rarely deliver. We have delivered all of the coats to our over 8000 backers along with all of the thousands of coats that were pre-ordered last season. There are comments on our Kickstarter message board expressing dissatisfaction with the changes made to original design and due to production delays, but at that time, we were a brand new company. We have since streamlined processes and grown as a company to improve our products, customer experience, production, and delivery.

I ordered a coat in October, due to ship in December. As of mid-January I still had not seen the coat, with several emails from the company saying the shipment had come in and I could expect my order soon. After several phone calls and emails, the company still hasn't refunded my order. Now, the have the nerve to contest with my credit card saying the merchandise was shipped. Save yourself a lot of trouble and buy your coat locally or from a company you trust.

The Daily positive (fake) reviews coming in for North Aware are clearly covering for something. - maybe look at their kickstarter page for a better idea of how they conduct business.

Hopefully everyone sees this and stays away, the company is poison, scamming and delaying dozens of customers with no refunds in sight.

Beware fake reviews, question everything.

Ordered March 2016, arrived December 2016, and was not the coat I ordered, had to send back twice at my own expense after being opened and refused on their end in an effort to get me to give up and keep it.
It has been sitting with them since May 2017, and I still don't have a refund.

I originally ordered a white classic coat from them and was expecting a delivery in December... After several times checking for an update, they finally got back to me and told me the color and style I wanted is on back order and asked me if I wanted to get another color/style that is available. They didn't tell me what was exactly available so I asked specifically for a certain color and asked them to let me know if my choice was not available. Finally, I received my coat in February in the WRONG color.
The thing is, I understand, things can get messy and delays can happen, but I am really upset as I don't understand why they gave me the option to choose if they were going to send the wrong color anyway... Although I really liked the pocket zip on the sleeves where I can put my own gloves(the snaps of their glove were so weak it broke off in a week), the material is way too heavy, the hood is poorly designed... I will never ever buy from this company again with that price, that service and the fact that the coat is not what was originally promised.

They don't respond to emails, send out coats months too late, and when they finally respond they "don't accept returns". Truly an abomination, I would stay far away from them. Review on the coat: much bulkier than expected, lesser quality than expected, just your typical junky Chinese coat.

Ordered the Parkas on Kickstarter in March 2016
Received the Parka in Dec 2016, sent it back for exchange in Jan 2017 because the size was WAY OFF
Still havent received my Parka ITS 2018!

I have talked to different people from NA and they all promised me my parka is on the way or that the item I want ran out or there was a warehouse issue
Given its a new company I have waited patiently until its winter again and I need my coat
I asked them to send me the tracking number of my order and they sent me a fake one! Thats when I knew they have been lying & stalling
I called them out and requested for a refund two months ago, and havent heard back since.

Please join the class action lawsuit on Facebook group North Aware Smart Parka Victims
I am not a progressive person but this company is so dishonest and people dont deserve to be scammed this way.

The jacket is fine. It's warm and well made. The company on the other hand is horrible. They either have no idea what they are doing, or they are just lying. I have a jacket, I needed to exchange. They promised, that they will do it, so I send it in. Then they refused to accept the delivery, and did not even bother to contact me, or say something. In the end, I have a jacket that is too big and I had to pay for the shipping to them, and also for the return shipping. Still, no explanation or excuse from North aware.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid. Never buy from them.

We're very sorry to hear of this experience. Our 3rd party warehouse at the time (separate company from us) would have been the one's to reject the parcel if it involves them paying for duty fees. We are not notified of this as it's the warehouse operation.

If the issue has not been solved, please let me know so I can solve this problem as quickly as possible.

The company advertised a full refund, required an expensive shipping service to return the coat, and after TWO YEARS OF WAITING for a refund with SHAMEFUL DELAYS and POOR COMMUNICATION, they had the nerve to deduct fees the refund. I was refunded roughly half of what I owed. This is a pyramid scheme, do not buy from them, the hassle is not worth it.

Lied about their sizing and refund policy. The jacket I bought was way too big so I returned it. More than 10 months later I have yet to receive a refund. At the end of the day I paid $400 for nothing. I might as well send money to some Nigerian prince

Terrible customer service. I ordered a jacket on Oct 11,2017, and emailed them to cancel my order the following day once I measured myself and realized the jacket would not fit my pear-shaped body. Still, I received the jacket in the mail two weeks later. There were no instructions about where to send the jacket back. I emailed them to ask about this. A week later they sent me a link to "request" a return and refund. It's been 2 weeks and I've heard nothing back from them, despite sending them an angry email every 5 days or so with no reply. Now I'm stuck with a jacket I don't want with no way to return it. And now its past the 2 week return limit. Ridiculous.

The reason that we were unable to cancel your order is because all pre-orders are locked in 30 days before they are set to ship as explained in our policies. However, customers do have the option to initiate a return within 30 days of receiving their products.

Ordered a bomber, realized I didn't need it anymore. So i returned it the day I received it. My rep was john. Things were going smoothly until the manager Richard stepped in. He claimed that John didn't proceed with the proper refund procedure. So i follow Richard's instructions, well the best I could. Just like their customer service support, the link was broken. I couldn't proceed with the proper refund. I've expressed my concerns through email. No reply at all from Richard or anyone else in regards to my refund. I feel like they scammed and holding my money hostage.

I received mine today, it's almost Spring. The people who lives in Canada may wear such a heavy coat if it's in Summer, but I don't.
The product itself is no bad. And I think the delay itself is not an issue also, because of this was crowd-funding, not a shop.

BUT, I'will never touch this company again.
They ignored all the messages and questions I sent.
No Product, No Tracking code, No Message, No Information, I received nothing from them. I've nerver seen such king of impolite company before. Please imagine, you ignored after you paid.
I believe that a company will make not only product and/or service, but make trust with customers. But they think that the trust is trash, I feel.

You may find ony good article in their web/twitter/facebook, but plase search kickstarter article *******@NorthAware tag on twitter. You can find many many hate about them. That's customer's voice.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, your review here is very exaggerated and untrue. You only ever submitted ONE ticket to our customer support team it was answered by a customer service rep a few hours later.

We ALWAYS focus on building a customer base that trusts and loves us. Unfortunately with our Kickstarter and some of the delays experienced, people were not happy despite the communication with our customers. They were never happy from the beginning and those are the negative voices you hear. Don't let 500-1000 negative backers out of almost 9,000 deter you. The 8,000 backers who were happy remain quiet because they're happy and continue on with every day life.

UPDATE:
We finally received our jackets. They do not look like promised; they do not look like the pictures on the website, and the materials are different. I would not have paid $350 each for a standard jacket manufactured in China.

To list a few things: For the male jacket, the collar is fake fur (when I bought, it was supposed to be fur, and they never emailed me and said they would change to fake fur, and no price reduction) and the wrong color (black and white, not beige as promised), there are bright silver zippers where there should have been black pockets again, just to name a few. My jacket is the wrong green color, the bottom half cannot be zipped off (a key feature of the jacket), the collar is not real fur, the zippers are slanted, just to name the most obvious ones.

Not a bad jacket, but definitely NOT worth the price, and you won't know what you're getting, or when.__________________
I ordered two jackets, for me and my husband, in March of 2017. I paid for them in full on schedule, and was promised an October 2017 delivery at the latest.
I have yet to receive the jackets, and have so far only received empty promises from customer service ("it will be shipped by the end of this week", "by mid November at the latest" and so on). I really need to know, for real, whether the jackets will arrive before 1) it starts snowing in Boston 2) we leave for a ski trip in 3 weeks.

We are sorry to hear that you were unsatisfied with your products. We did make the decision to use faux fur instead of real fur trim after researching about how real fur trim is sourced. We also never had a beige option, we only offer black, white, candy red and hunter green. The first generation Smart Parka has a removable length extension, but Smart Parka 1.0 does not. It sounds like you got the upgraded version.
