They have no issue charging your card! But lots of issues getting your meds to you!
February 6, 2024

I have been with NextMed since July 2023. In August 2023, they double charged me for a doctor's visit. I reached out and after some back and forth they refunded the extra charge. Then, I got my labs as requested, uploaded them to the portal and emailed the labs to the support team a few days prior to my appointment. During my next doctor's visit, the doctor advised could not access the lab work, the doctor cancelled my appointment and advised there would be no charge due to the mistake. I was charged for the doctor's visit. I had to reach out, after some back and forth, I was refunded for the visit. Finally, I got my first month of medication. Please note you will be charged for their monthly service fee of $138 per month weather the medication is issued or not, weather they have messed up or not and that monthly charge doesn't include your medication or doctor's visit. My first round of medication for 1 month was $99. The following month I was charged for a doctor's visit, the subscription of $138 and my medication was now $111 for a month supply. Unfortunately, that second month of medication never arrived and after reaching out to their support team, I was advised they switched pharmacies and that my prescription must have gotten lost. They refund the money for the missing refill, set up another doctor's appointment that I had to pay for again. At this point I have now paid for 3 months of their subscription service and had only received 1 month of medication. I should have cancelled then but the medication really works, and I figured due to the medication's popularity, it was just some supply hiccups and moved forward. My next round of medication went up to $121 for October, another doctor's visit charge and the $138 for the subscription. November the cost went up to $141 on top of the other monthly cost and doctor's visit. I then go to refill in December to find out the cost has jumped up to $390 on top of the $138 for the monthly subscription but are now claiming the cost covers the doctor's fee and a 2-month supply of medication. I had to skip my refill because I had not budgeted for over $500 between medication and monthly service charges. I reached out about the price increase and got an email back that they were changing platforms/services and that the cost was correct. Lastly, I ordered my refill last week. They promptly took $390 from my bank account the same day- I never received a receipt, I never received confirmation that the prescription was issued or shipped. I reach out today and received a response that the pharmacy is backed-up, but I should get tracking information soon and my medication should be shipped in the coming days. The email outlined "medication package for a month supply, Doctor's fee, unlimited messaging with the provider anytime and anywhere, and you will not need to have monthly video consultation appointment for your refill." However, the website said when I agreed to the charge that $390 was for a 2-month supply. I am now waiting to hear back from their support team to confirm whether I will receive a one-month or two-month supply for $390. They are not transparent about their pricing; they will charge your card with no warning and at times charge you in error. The support team replies to your concerns with generic response that never fully answer the questions you ask. I would definitely look into other programs before agreeing to NextMed. I will be making a switch! I've paid $138 per month since July 2023 and have only received medication 4 times in 7 months. I hope they return my email soon and explain the $390 charge and how much medication that includes.

Update: I have now been contacted advising my medication is only for a 1-month supply at $390, so the price increased from $141 to $390 in 30 days. Yesterday, I was told my medication was delayed because the pharmacy is backed-up. Today I am told my medication is to be delivered today. It makes no sense and does not add up! I am trying to cancel the prescription and get a refund of my $390 but I am getting the run around.

To recap the current issues:
1.) I never received a consultation with a doctor to discuss my medication needs- no messages were sent to me through the portal, by phone or email.
2.) I never received a receipt for the $390 taken from my account. I also have an additional $2.00 charge from NextMedical pending from bank account- I have no clue what the $2 is for.
3.) I was not told what dosage I was given.
4.) When I agreed to the $390, their website clearly stated I was agreeing to a 2-month supply, however, I later found out that it was only a 1-month supply.
5.) I called yesterday 01/30/2024 and was told a cancellation was submitted- so I have no understanding as to why the medication was shipped out or set for delivery today 01/31/2024.
6.) I have not received any tracking information.

I want a refund of the $390 and I want to cancel their services all together at this point.

Update: I finally spoke to someone on the phone who has confirmed I will be refunded the $390 once it's confirmed the medication, that I was told on back order yesterday, but told today was shipped to me and set to deliver to my home today, is returned to the pharmacy through UPS's return to sender process. I was promised a phone call tomorrow with an update on the tracking of the package. I also received confirmation that they cancelled my month subscription.

As long as I get my refund and they never charge my card again- I will be happy to say this is resolved. However, I would warn everyone to steer clear of this company!

DO NOT USE NEXTMED
September 16, 2023

DONT NOT USE NEXTMED I had an Zoom medical appointment with Amy Dougherty, FNP-BC. This Nurse gave me false information and she falsified her medical summary notes from the appointment she and I had. I had an appointment with Amy Doughtery today 8/16/2023.
Amy advised me that she can not service me today due to my Medical Insurance being Medicaidare. I said to her that I am not using any medical insurance, that I have been paying out of pocket for my services.

Her denial of services came at the ending point of the appointment, when she told me that she needed more lab work from me, and that she is placing an order for labs and that I should go to labcorp. I then asked her if I could obtain the lab work from my primary care doctor because I don't want to pay for the labs from the lab corp. I have Medicare and Emblemhealth.

Amy then asked me did, I have Medicare due to a disability( I find this discriminatory). It's really none of her business why I have Medicare. Amy seems a tad bit discriminative.

I said yes, I have Medicare due to a disability, Amy then strongly advised me not to use nextmed to use another provider instead of NextMed and that I could lose my Medicare Benefits. I said how when I am paying for these services out of my pocket. She said your insurance is on file. Medicare does not pay for weight loss meds. I said I know Medicare does not pay for WL medication. This is why I am paying for everything out of my pocket.

Amy then said that she will notify nextmed and tell them, I can not service you today and this is when I finally got a smile from Amy. After she said that she could not service me today she smiled. I said to her that I am not using any medical insurance, that I have been paying out of pocket for my services. Amy said there are several other services you can use. I said oh I guess I'll just go back to using the Medi Spa in Nevada which I have to fly out to. Amy said oh why would you have to do that I'm quite sure there are other places like nextMed.

I then asked Amy if she has any places that she can recommend. She said no, with another smile. Amy then got a sudden burst of energy and said I'll be contacting nextmed and telling them I cant service you today, and to refund your money. I said thank you for your help Amy. Have a good day. That concludes our zoom visit.

In the initial intake when I signed up for next med in June 2023 I did upload my medical insurance because that's what the form asked for. It asked if I had medical insurance and to upload a picture of the cards. In which I did. I was under the impression that I was paying out of my pocket for these services.

I was so nervous that I was almost in tears. I called Medicare and told them about the conversation and how the Nurse said I can lose my Medicare benefits. Medicare then informed me that, that is misinformation. Medicare care said the only way I can lose my Medicare is if I dont pay my premium.

I then contacted NextMed,I told the rep that I did not authorize any usage of my Medical Insurance. The nextmed CSR confirmed to me that I am not using anytype of insurance. I am paying out of my pocket as my credit card statement reflects. In June I paid for the doctor's visit and 128.00 for the medication. I then requested the nextmed rep to please delete my medical insurance cards off of the medical records please.

At this time I am requesting to cancel the services of open loop and next med. Also please delete my insurance information off the records, if it has not already been removed. I was solely understanding that I was paying for these services out of pocket. I did not authorize any usage of my medical insurances.

Lastly, Amy Doughtery was not personable at all, from the start of the appointment. No kind hello or anything as soon as she saw me on the video she was not welcoming at all. Amy was asking me for my medical information in a very flat and rude tone. No smile nothing, not even a greeted smile from the start of the Zoom Call. I have reason to believe by her initial attitude that Amy may be biased toward a certain type of people. Her entire impression was discriminatory. I would like to request a copy of the Zoom Meeting between Amy Doughtery and Myself. I also would like to suggest that you review that meeting as well. I have served my community and worked for half of my life. I expect the same courtesy and respect as anyone else.

Please note I am not coming to the conclusion that Amy may be discriminatory because Amy said she could not service me, in fact I was thanking her for notifying me that I could lose my Medical benefits for paying out of pocket for NextMed. Amy's attitude and demeanor was nasty from the start of the Zoom Call.

I worked 20 years of my life fighting crime I deserved accurate information and better service. Amy is dishonest. I also read her medical summary the document is falsified.

BEST WEIGHT LOSS COMPANY ON INTERNET "NEXT MEDS"
May 10, 2023

Miellette B,- Lyka- Athena- all the staff are wonderful kind and very undertanding. They make sure you get your medication on time and are concerned with your progress. Lets face it no one wants to be fat, now we have the opportunity to get a FDA approved drug that juat take the weight off, of course you HAVE to work at it with a diet and exercise, but you don't really have to knock yourself with exercise, Knees are bad and hips are full of arthritis, my primary Dr. keeps telling me to loose weight its hard when your knees hurt, orthopedic Dr. said lose weight snd you will feel much better along with some shots in the knees so I could walk a couple times a week. Next Meds is a miracle and they have real Dr. watching over you also and the are concerned about you Dr.Reilly was a very nice man. Nobody on the team judges you, they actully want the best for you to loose and they are very reasonable in price, that makes it possible and they do take your insurance its a NO BRAINER! Start as soon as you can so you can wear your bathing suit proudly this year. The Quarantine was awful, and extreamly stressful where relief was to eat and cook because you were home, most of us gained weight and now we are paying to get it off as soon as possible.Thank you Next Meds for coming up with this great idea for people to lose weight and stay healthy at the same time! Thank you Staff your all great and super nice and helpful I can't say enough abut this fabulous company I pray they succeed for a long time, I don't see any negatives to this program even helps with sugar levels. I hate pictures of myself but when I am in my bathing suit with a nice tan i will post a picture. Sincerely Lyn

Tip for consumers:
