I have reported someone who continually harassed me (that I didn't know) multiple times, while what he actually said on a thread (something about killing someone?!) was deleted and dismissed. Nothing has been done about this guy and I've reported him FOUR TIMES now. I can't block him. I've told him to stop messaging me. I've told ND that they are lax in letting people like this be on their platform. The leads are just "volunteers" who are biased with their neighborhood postings. Most biased website I have been on and am now leaving due to the unsafe and unfair feeling this entire platform can give.

I was a member for years, great site to keep up with neighborhood information. A few weeks back we got a new lead, she censored, closed and deleted members posts. I complained via email to Nextdoor, never received a response and my ID was disabled. I then send another email inquiring why my login no longer worked and received back a canned email to read their guidelines. I read them and still have no idea why I was disabled. I suspect the lead(s) can just ban anyone they want for any reason and there is no appeals process. All is well until you get a lead that wants to use it to dictate rather than encourage open conversations.

In just the last few days about 10% of our community has been booted off, they are now using FB instead of Nextdoor. These members have send Nextdoor dozens of emails complaining about the lead and no relevant responses from Nextdoor. Until they can fix this management issues and learn to communicate with their members I find no use for them

Unreal
July 12, 2018

After years of being on ND, my account was temporarily blocked on July 10th for shaming. I had no notice and for three days I didnt know why I couldnt log in. I had to email them and they took their sweet time to respond. A thief repeatedly stole from a nearby neighborhood. I called the unknown person a loser. I pointed out to Mr. Obvious or support that I was not referring to a member/neighbor and they should reinstate my profile. Their condescending response: When you can agree to abide by the guidelines, let us know and we will consider reinstating your account. For now, it is blocked until July 24th.**

** Update: I received a reply from ND support. This was the only reply I've ever received from them where the employee wasn't being condescending. They also reinstated my account per my request.

I was a lead on Nextdoor, they sent me an email asking me to look at some posts that were reported and asked me to vote on whether they should be deleted or not. I read every single one they sent me I think 6 or 7 and only one of them did I vote to have removed. Today I get another email, telling me that several of the posts violated their terms of service and I should have voted to have them removed. I am thinking why the hell ask me to cast a vote if you don't respect my opinion? I am done with Nextdoor, I will probably be banned after the scathing reply I sent them. I don't care if I am banned for life or not. Nextdoor is useless and I am blocking their emails now.

COMMUNIST SITE
July 11, 2018

What a communist site. All the stuff is garbage that it posts. It's a political site disguised as a friendly next door neighbor helpful site. Now it's putting their political beliefs mixed in with paid advertising. What a piece of cr**. I have blocked it. BEWARE!

The worst first impression and overall most horrible experience using a site! From a business owners point of view, Nextdoor.com has been the biggest waste of time and energy with the most unprofessional and misinformed people Ive ever come across and experienced!

Beware!
July 7, 2018

I just got banned from Nextdoor for reporting abusive censorship by a Nextdoor Lead. How nice!

This social media company is the worst of them all. Racism, intolerance and paranoia are rampant. The only reason to join Nextdoor is for bad entertainment or to learn just how many bigots live in your neighborhood.

Similar to another post, there was a lively discussion about living in a neighborhood where fireworks are illegal, and what those who are interested in such things might do to comply with our laws, given the impact on our veterans with PTSD, pets, and wildlife, not to mention the potential harm associated with setting off fireworks in a heavily wooded area. There was the normal amount of whining and personal diatribes, but to the credit of all concerned no objectionable profanity. However, one of the participants took exception to others' opinions, and reported abuse where there was none. However, she apparently found a willing ally in the far left leaning progressive Nextdoor culture, who banned my account based on what was a primarily civil discussion. No wonder Nextdoor possesses a 1 star approval rating overall. Nextdoor must embrace the Antifa philosophy that all controverting opinions must simply be suppressed, and they are willing to use their website to do so. Good riddance to a bunch of social media libtards I say. Nothing good oozes out of the feces infected San Francisco.

The principal was good but there are many unhappy individuals who feel jilted in life and use nextdoor to complain, lie and exaggerate or try to ruin someone elses business reputation and nextdoor leads do nothing. In fact there are leads who are bullies too! Power given to losers who cant succeed in real life so they hide behind social media to make them feel powerful.

Got banned because I asked what part of breaking the law do you not understand to a bunch of knuckleheads who kept making excuses for shooting illegal fireworks in my neighborhood. I guess I hurt a liberals feelers and Nextdoor would rather censor law abiding citizens. Whatever, what do you expect from a company based in San Francisco...

This site is great! It give's you the opportunity to really meet your neighbors. It allows your neighbors to show their true colors. You'd be surprised at how much racism and intolerance is all around you. The site gives you all the social exchange of going to a clan meeting without having to leave your house.

It's also great to see those obnoxious neighbors that everyone on the block complains about, posting how "lowlife's" are bringing down their property value.

Sure the site has guidelines, but no one cares. It's usually the more active users that commit the most offenses and some of the leads (if they exist) would rather not deal with guideline issues.

Complain about someone suggesting a criminal activity and you become the bad guy. Apparently, the site endorses that we be able to shoot anyone that has a dog poop on the lawn, is homeless or just looks like they "don't belong".

Sorry, but this site is simply a gathering place for less educated, unsophisticated, scared, socially inept individuals to find common ground and sort out all their problems as to why the country is so messed up. Apparently, it is because of "others", you know, those that don't look like them, vote likes them, or hate like them.

I was kicked off the nextdoor app after I reported my neighborhood lead of deleting posts concerning a traffic calming project in our neighborhood. She was deleting posts myself and other neighbors made because of her biased opinion on the matter. After reporting her to the help center, I received an email back from Grace which only stated that she would look into it but that these managers are long term. On the bottom of the email it said to rate my opinion on the help center and I put poor. Within minutes I was no longer able to go on my account and when I contacted them via email they told me that it was suspended for public shaming. Following is the copy of what I posted that they considered public shaming.

That would be our lead April Espana deleting posts. As for the traffic calming, there is none. Maybe they are waiting for people to just give up and stop talking about it. Then they will hold a meeting that we wont go to. Thats when theyll vote in their favor.

I was part of Nextdoor for maybe over 2 years and since then have noticed the amount of angst and harassment that it's neighbors have had on each other.

Nextdoor claims to promote a safe place for neighbors to discuss about current events, however it is nothing but a place for harassment and bullying that is done behind a computer.

I had stayed away from all of the discussions because people on here have become so hostile that the negativity far outweighs any benefit to actually stay on.

I have also seen neighbors who purposely instigated fights and then had their victim's accounts suspended. Nextdoor does not protect those being harassed, or the harasser because of their level of involvement and popularity on the app.

I was getting tired of all the hurtful and nasty discussions that were going on that I had to mute a lot of the discussions.

However, just recently, someone had complained that I wasn't using a supposed "real name" and so my account got suspended. I have seen so many users with aliases so it makes me wonder who the star "police" is on this.

But anyway... I am actually glad they suspended my account because I couldn't stand getting there unnecessary notices anyway. I advised them to delete my account altogether... be wary that with an app like this, there are always a few people on here with nothing better to do but to cause trouble where it is unnecessary.

Nextdoor doesn't even officially checked any legal documents when it comes to your real name anyway, which blows my mind why they would even believe that every so-called "real name" on their app is actually someone's real name.

What a JOKE!

I live in a neighborhood that has an ongoing conflict about the sale of a golf course. The HOA is trying to block the ale and then put the purchase on the homeowners (if they can get it). For the last year posts criticizing and "blasting" anti-HOA have been allowed. Today information that was negative about the HOA and telling us what is going on were removed! Sure seems the nextdoor lead is trying to protect the HOA and leave the residents in the dark!

I've been suspended on Nextdoor for 'shaming'. I shared my personal encounter with a reckless driver along with the license plate and type of car... and warned people to be ware. Following notification of my suspension, I then returned to the site (via my husband's account) to review the previous relevant postings I had seen. All of the postings concerning this driver have been deleted. I wonder if those contributors were also suspended. Hummmm. Come to your own conclusions!

Gestapo?
June 27, 2018

I was horrified when, within two days of signing up, I received an email containing a photo and a notice inquiring if I knew whether the person in question was or was not an actual "Neighbor." WTF? Checking to make sure those invited into this useless network are worthy?

All the other reviews are spot on I have been a member for only 2 days when the discussion of drug use in Irvine, California start getting crazy.
I live in Stonegate Village majority are Asians I didn't have an idea how many racist neighbors I have in my neighborhood untile I read their posts. One neighbor said drug users typically aren't Asians so I responded to him asking him not say stupid things like that since drug abouse doesn't matter if your Asain or not. Other post said black people are number one drug users followed by multi racial, white,. Then the lowest users are Asians with only 3%! I called him right on the spot and asked him to be respectful for other races and nationalities and show accurat data. For the love of god why they think posting drug abuse data is so important than trying to solve the drug problem itself? What's the point of Saying typically Asians aren't drug users? Stupid people say stupid thinks.
They went after me and reported me trying to block me out for calling them racists and rude.
The next day I received an email from Nextdoor asking me to post my real name saying some of the neighbors couldnt verify your address because I didn't use my real name I told them that's why I didn't use my real name I don't want one of these short circuits, racist neighbors to show up at my door step.
I totally agree with other reviews who gave 1 star I had exactly
Same experiences within only 2 days. I ask Nextdoor to send me a confirmation email that all my personal info will be deleted immediately and opt me out.
All what I got from them is a headache and stress it's basically a platform for racism that's all.
ZERO STAR

The so called "leads" remove any post that disagree with their radical progressive view point. For example, they classify the word "homeless" as offensive, so if you use it, your post is removed. Do not join this garbage platform. Let's druve this company out of business.
