I bought two plants and hoped they could ship the next day and they did! They were received in excellent condition and packaged very securely. I am sorry other are dissatisfied with this company. I was very impressed and greatly appreciate the effort made. I will buy from them again.
This company put thimble size root ball in a 4 x 4 and sold it to me. There was no root structure to the plants. Either crappy company or serious quality issues Dan in Rexas
I bought 9 sedum plants and when they arrived 6 of them were waterlogged, rotting and falling apart. The other 3 were bone dry which actually is better for sedum. I have hope for those but the other 6 will probably die. I emailed Pete at New garden plants and he didnt reply. They obviously dont care and thats why Im writing this revie. If they at least replied and tried to make this better Id give them a chance.
The worst online nursery experience I've had in awhile.
I've had a ton of experience ordering plants online and I am an experienced gardener. Half of the plants that I got in this order were dead on arrival, the others were in just fair condition. None were great. Even though I should've asked for a full refund, I asked for a half refund since I figured I might be able to nurse the others back to health. They finally responded a week later saying "they'll come back in the spring "
I responded saying I paid for healthy plants and that I still wanted a half refund. I never heard back again.
I've bought from a ton of other vendors this summer filling in my landscape here and I've never had such an issue. There's no excuse for this kind of customer service. I'm going to challenge the charge on my credit card. Stay away from this vendor
I ordered two of the same plants and one was in great shape and the order one was two stems with a bunch of dead leaves in the pot. Sent an email with pictures the same day, have heard nothing six days later.
I purchased 20 plants from New Garden Plants.com, at a total cost of $233.46.
All the plants were delivered in a timely manner and seemed to be delivered in good shape. Unfortunately, one of the plants - The Incredible Blush Smooth Hydrangea - did not make it. I followed all the instructions on the website, contacted Pete by email and he asked me to send photos of the plant, which I did. After I sent the photos - I did not receive a response. I sent Pete a total of 3 emails. Nothing. Never a response from Pete. (NOTE: I have 6 Hydrangea plants in my garden so I am not new to growing them.)
To quote part of the NewGardenPlants.com's Guarantee - "If you do have problems with your plants you may contact me via email and I would be happy to offer advice and suggestions of ways to help correct the problem." This, apparently, is not the case, as I was ignored.
Would I buy from this company again? No, because they have poor customer service and they do not stand by their guarantee. NOTE to Pete: Ignoring customers is a bad business practice.
I inquired about availability of certain plants in preparation for an order. I received no response. Resent the inquiry and have received no reply whatsoever. I have six gardens I'm doing. Went elsewhere. Two stars because they seem to have competitive pricing that would be nice if they were interested in selling something.
I brought some cool plants. They were delayed by FedEx. One arrived dead; brown and mushy. The other two looked pretty healthy but has a bit of mold on the broken stems. I emailed Pete about the replacement. He responded immediately that it'll be sent out. Forward to today, almost 3 months now, multiple follow up emails, calls and messages, no answer, no response on updates on my replacement. This is bad business practice to provide a defective product, promise a replacement, but never actually follow through on the advertised guarantee, and worse of all ignoring my communication attempts. Unprofessional and dishonest.
I ordered nearly $300 of Heucheras. When I received them, they looked like they had been burned and five did not make it at all. It probably was the fault of FedEx but I have written New Garden Plants about three times, and have never received a reply.
I ordered 14 succulents from him early last spring. I live in an apartment and I sent him a list of what I was considering before I ordered and he said they would all be fine indoors. The box was a week or so late and I probably should have asked for it to be delivered later in the spring.
I was expecting all "new" plants, and 3 or 4 were old stems with just a few leaves each. Also, most of the plants were upright, but there wasn't enough room for all of them in the box, so he lay maybe a half-dozen of them on their sides - which created a mess. I almost tossed one planter as it looked like there was nothing in it, but then I found a really tiny plant - an inch at most, buried under dirt.
Also, a lot of the plastic "grower planters" were a narrower diameter than he claimed.
Some of the plants did surprisingly well, but others didn't make it.
I ordered two Crassula Red Pagoda because his photo made it look very colorful and dramatic, but what I got didn't look anything like that.
From now on I'm buying all my succulents in person at Home Depot so I can avoid the bait and switch with mail order - showing you big beautiful plants in photos, but then sending small and not necessarily healthy ones.
Photos are the Crassula Red Pagoda as shown and as delivered.
