Netflix Reviews Summary

The company has a mixed reputation, with some customers appreciating its extensive library of content and user-friendly interface, which enhances the viewing experience. However, numerous complaints highlight significant dissatisfaction with rising subscription costs, technical issues like slow loading times, and customer service inadequacies. Many users express frustration over billing problems and the perceived decline in content quality, particularly regarding Netflix originals. Overall, while the platform remains popular for its variety, the growing concerns about service reliability and customer support suggest a need for improvement to retain loyal customers.

May 24, 2023

If we pay $20.00 a month, oh wait $19.99, for the premium plan, it is NONE of your business what 4 or where those 4 devices are located. I travel A Lot and have 4 different devices I use at home that TRAVEL WITH ME. So now I can only watch netflix when im stuck at home? BS. I know more people will cancel than continue service with you. YOU HAVE CROSSED A LINE!

I use to like Netflix but no longer. Onstead of dealing with customers on a case by case basis tgat have been sharing their account they are upcharging customers like me by raises their prices to watch on more than 1 device at a time. Shame on you Netflix
You are the absolute worst streaming company and your customer service isn't much better

When a series is good, most of the time season 2 will never follow due to Netflix standards. Not much to explore in movie categories especially Netflix original and now noticing they have followed Stan by going back in time with movies that I watched on DVDs.

The person on the online customer service said there was no way to lodge a complaint. I asked for the details of the complaints department and he said he would have to ask if they had one, and then confirmed they did not. This is the customer service team. The agent then had the audacity to claim they were a 'feedback-driven company'.

Netflix also produces psuedo-historical documentaries they pretend are based on fact but perpetuate know racist conspiracy theories. Apparently racist conspiracy theories claiming that brown skinned people stole northern Africa from black-skinned people and that the Greek queen Cleopatra was actually black is part of 'inclusivity'. There is no credible historian who believes these claims, which are racist against brown-skinned and white-skinned people, and xenophobic against Greeks, Macedonians, Egyptians, Arabs and the majority of north Africans peoples.

On another occasion, I unable to to use the service I paid for because because a thief was illegally watching Harry Potter movies on my account. I had to talk to three customer service agents including a supervisor, who at first told me there was nothing they could do to log everyone out of the accounts even though I had verified I was the true account holder. It was only after pointing out that they were now accessory to a crime that they suddenly discovered they did have the technology to do that after all and resolved the problem.

May 15, 2023

I've never seen such a despicable quality of movies alone and have the audacity to ask people to pay for this absurd service.

Netflix is getting worse and worse every year. Them cancelling popular shows because "they doesn't make enough money" is truly disgusting. Just unsubscribed to their subscription, and you should do that too. What a horrible company.

Plan on calling 3 times to cancel your account. They will charge your card numerous times, before they will actually cancel your subscription.

I was kind of happy with netflix before 2023, when suddenly they decided to dramatically raise their prices:(
I wonder why, though, because often you can't find many movies on netflix, no matter how well known they are. In addition, yoh don't have the option to switch to basic languages such as Italian for example, or you can't see, over here in Spain, what customers from other parts of the world can.
In short, they have become OVERLY EXPENSIVE.
There are more affordable alternatives nowadays, so: Bye bye baby!

With the amount of shows on Netflix that get canceled are overwhelming and give you no warning. I have started a black list of shows not to watch due to this. I feel like If you're going to cancel a show that ends in a cliffhanger at the end of a season CANCEL THE WHOLE SHOW! Make the show unavailable to even watch because wtf is the point in watching an incomplete show?! It's bull sh!t to allow it to be watched just for unsuspecting viewer to get disappointed and leave then unsatisfied, not with the show but with Netflix discontinuation of the show. Its ridiculous.

Disgusting tweet made by CEO. No, any man cannot just identify as a female and then participate in professional sports, let alone any man cannot just join a sport and beat the top level women competing. Stop spreading hate and misinformation.

Subjective Viewing
April 23, 2023

As far as streaming services go, it's fine if you don't like re-watching shows. Netflix has their original shows/movies, meaning if you love one of these, and they decide to stop streaming it, there's no way of watching it or buying a dvd copy of it (Wish Dragon). There's also quite a few anime shows they've cut out context out of (the content isn't innapropriate), to make the stream more seamless. In their opinion. If I wanted an adaptation of a show I loved I would've just asked my friends

I have been with Netflix for years... and I mean years. Started with them when it was only a dvd service. At some point transferred to their streaming service. It was a monthly bill that I paid - even when I watched nothing for months. When the rates really started going up, and I realized that I could cancel and restart service at any time, I started doing so. Sometimes I would binge watch but usually I would watch a few movies for maybe a week and then barely use it. And that is what I did when I recently went on vacation. Wanted to watch one specific movie that happened to be on Netflix so I reactivated my service and logged in on the Airbnb smart tv. Problem is I forgot to log out of my account. Was home for 6 days before I tried to watch something on Netflix and I got a message that my account was being used. I realized that I had not logged out and the new Airbnb guests had been using my account. Really didn't mind (though it was pretty rude of them to put movies in My watchlist). The problem is that I was not able to disconnect them. Changed my password and chose the option to disconnect all devices and they were still in my account. Contacted customer service and - get this - they could not disconnect them either. After a lot of wasted time I asked if they deactivated my service if that would work. Their response was yes. I assumed that they would credit me for the unwatched time (over 2 weeks) and I could reactivate and finish out the month. And their response was "no refunds". I was not asking for a refund but rather let me reactivate and finish out the service time that I had paid for and they just kept saying "no refunds". I even offered to help them with the math if that was the problem - again "no refunds". Well I let them deactivate my service - and I have no plans to reactivate at this point unless they come out with another season of Stranger Things. Everything else they have to offer - I can - and will - do without. It is not the money, it is a matter of principle... and bad customer service: (

Falsifying history
April 17, 2023

Afrocentrism is a pseudoscience that is pushing a group's agenda to claim Egypt's history and rob the actual Egyptians of it. By using false articles and zero evidence, they are still attempting to falsify history

"Cleopatra was born in Alexandria, Egypt in the Ptolemaic dynasty to Greek descent. She was NOT black. This is in no way against black people, and is simply a wake up call to preserve the history and the integrity of the Egyptians and the Greeks."

"The show is clearly done to complement the Afrocentric movement, which claims to be the owner of the ancient Egyptian civilization, and to consolidate what the movement promotes. Egypt was never black and it was never white, Egypt is just Egypt. There are many great African/black civilizations, but Egypt was/is NOT one of them. Sign the petition to stop the falsification of history!"

Netflix stages a live event but can't deliver. Crashed the whole site. Now we can't watch anything and spent the last hour and a half trying to get through to customer service. Only to be told that they don't have customer retention and basically we can take our money elsewhere.

It's okay
April 17, 2023

There are a limited amount of things to watch and the offerings are not as good as non-Canadian accounts, but as Canadians we are used to getting under-served. The frustration is signing up for a low price and seeing the monthly charge go up and up. I am paying almost 3x what I signed up for a few years ago. There are also a lot of glitches and when a show is popular, good luck getting a smooth streaming experience.

Not what it used to be. Half the movies are foreign films now. The app is glitchy and slow. You finally sift through the movies and find one that looks interesting. Then you discover it's not in English or is has a very poor English dub.
