I went to Namecheap by recommendation. All domains were there, information is displayed in a clear and obvious form, domains tools are great and easy to use, purchase price is reasonable and renovation/transfer price is displayed clearly so you know in advance what you're getting (they won't hold your domain for ransom). Overall very satisfied.
I've used multiple different registrar services before and by far Namecheap has been the worst. Their user interface is clunky and poorly organized, their features aren't as robust as other services, and their customer service is amongst the worst I've ever encountered. I promise for your own sanity you should spend a few extra dollars per month and use a more reputable service. The money I saved was absolutely NOT worth the hassle and experience.
I found the site difficult to navigate, when using the chat they were giving programmed answers. I"m new at setting up These kinds of programs, need to be made easier for newbies that have never set up websites etc. Not sure I purchased what I really needed, or don't need. Im sure if someone has went through this process before it would be easy.
Php problem from the start that your tech support eventually solved it, hope I won't have any further problems with you
Even though you guys have a lot of questions answered in your FAQs, it is tough to follow all those links.
I feel you should have a YouTube channel with professional videos teaching how to use all the different settings, like AWS.
There is plenty of information and courses on how to use AWS, which makes it so much easier to use them for big projects, unlike regular hosting service providers.
Conclusion: Horrible user experience
It took several tries over about 20 minutes to get my domain to show up in my cart, after it was there on the main page. then the checkout wouldn't work properly. On the page where I enter my card info the orange button to continue would disable when I clicked it, but nothing would happen. After a few more tries i switched from firefox to chrome and it worked. I don't want to have to switch from firefox to make a purchase.
The system charges over compare to the price in the offer. Everything goes well until I should finish the checout process and provide credit card details then all of a sudden it charges me for extras.
The live chat is not giving any solution or service, they're not responding more than a half an hour.
The checkout process is not user friendly and there is a crash in the payment process 3 times from 4.
process seemed long winded. During Payment you converted to $US for which PayPal use their own conversion so it was over £15 instead of just over £14. If I live in the UK why do you 'force' PayPal to $US?
Didn't work on Chrome. Confusing check out when it came to confirming my billing address in a second section. There was a purposeful lack of transparency about email domain services.
Disruptive live chat sessions which resulted in multiple, repeat, conversations. Lack of clarity (copy and paste information provided from Knowledgebase). No tailored response or ease of service.
Your search bar has some technical difficulties. The text scrambled. the Enable and disable switch is a bit confusing when you switch it on and it switches back off without a notice of why it is doing so ( because the renewal option is not checked in he the domain registration area) . Also, If i opt to edit my info, I would prefer not having to start all over again with having to reenter my information. :)
It takes too long to pay
Websites loads slowly
Too many questions upon creating an account which dont matter because you can fill fake details
The checkout process was very irritating. It kept giving me an error message after adding new contact details. It kept saying there is something wrong with each line of my address. There was nothing wrong with this. I had to go back to my profile about 4 times to edit my address. It wouldn't continue without a state or province even though there was no * in the field. Hope this helps you improve the service
It took me almost 24 hours to connect to site, which delayed my website from being started. However good prices
I was very disappointed that my questions about price and SSL were ignored and that my password was not recognized the second time it was called for and the first suggested method for changing would not work and it took over an hour to finally get a system which did work. Too hard to buy the domain - hope it works when I open my ecommerce store.
We have a very horrible experience and our account was suspended while building our project on namecheap.
I had quite an hour long adventure going through a loop of adding to cart & shopping for domains. Please fix this bug.
muchos problemas con la cache, no añadia productos, una compra de pocos minutos llego a desesperar, solo finalice porque esto no es para mi sino una conocida que quiere vuestros servicios
While with Namecheap I didn't have a problem with them. However when I decided not to renew my subscription was where the problem started. I received an email stating "We've noticed that your credit card has expired. This means, unfortunately, that the products you have set to auto-renew between April 10 and May 09, won't be successfully renewed." I thought great they can't renew and I don't want to renew so good. I did log in to make sure the card on file did indeed expire and it did. So I left it. However I was still charged. When I went to dispute it I was informed that it was more than 120 hours (5 days) after they charged the account so they couldn't refund it. This was on day 6. They said they charged the expired card and the bank sent them the updated card information and still charged my account. If someone from the company actually reads these then you should improve this process. The email sent clearly stated it could not renew the account. No where in the email did it say it was possible that they could indeed still charge the account. While I was chatting with customer service I was sent a link to an article apparently on their website stating that they could. That also should have been linked in the email. How am I supposed to know to look for these things before I even have a problem? They got 2 stars because the customer service people were nice or at least seemed to be and this is also a bank issue. Otherwise they would have gotten 1. Will take it up with my bank tomorrow (Monday)
I found at least 5 bugs doing my business tonight including a bad error message "OOPS! Object reference not set to an instance of an object." It seems you don't spend sufficient investment on design or implementation quality and testing. This may be my first and last domain with you.
The process seemed quite cumbersome, I received an error message to use, I think it said "English characters only" but it was not clear if it was on the billing address for the credit card or the billing address for the ICANN registration. I willingly admit this could be user error, however, I have used GSuite in the past and never had any cumbersome issues as I did today. Thank you for your time.
There is a very poor user interface, which keeps on pushing to save the credit card details and even takes a lot of time in accepting payments and shows confusing messages e.g. "0 out of 4 orders completed".
The price for domain name. Tech was supposed to be included in the pricing of one plan that I chose. In the last step just before payment the price for. Tech domain re-appeared on the invoice and I could not remove it. Tired chatting with live person - no luck as all were too busy. Spent too much time analyzing options and 5usd were not worth the hassle. Bottom line - the functionality of purchase process could be improved.
Since I am here to purchase I need more care. But I could not even make an account on namecheap easily. However, I have purchased your package at last after trying so hard. I am a valid user of web services, hope Namecheap will look after customers like us.
Your platform doesn' t except my card so I had to use PayPal. Also I wanted to get a different hosting program but your windows and scrolling is so difficult to understand I ended up with a 20 GB program. I tried to ask you guys a question with a live chat and I was put on hold in chat if you can believe that for 25 minutes and I gave up.
I purchased the Wordpress hosting and it talks about getting set up in 90 sec but it does not tell you that you should get a domain first to make the setup smoother. I thought I would be able to select a domain and add it to my cart during one transaction
Namecheap is a domain name registrar and web hosting company. We love our customers and thrive on making them happy.
