Beware, the faces/heads of silicon dolls that are displayed on a website are not always what you get. A couple of years ago, I had two bad purchases, one was close, another not at all.
Recently I was enticed to buy a 150cm doll called "Bay Beautiful" from myrealdolls.com. Other sites name it differently. Picture enclosed.
I had bought this doll 5 yrs earlier; the body wore out, the head was still fine. I wanted another, so when I saw the low price on myrealdolls I jumped on it.
Before buying I asked on their chat box am I going to get this actual doll face shown?
They said, "What you see is what you get". Well, I didn't.
The face (picture enclosed) was more Asian looking, eyes pushed in, lips so small like that of a child's. Nothing like the one I bought 5 yrs earlier.
Very disappointed, I complained. They tried to justify by showing pictures of the doll they sent and the one advertised. From a front view, they are hard to tell apart. But in actuality they are very different. They said they were the original designers of this doll face, which is impossible 'cuz it was totally different than the one I bought 5 yrs earlier. What gave them away is that several months earlier I bought a 140cm Bay Beautiful doll from the same company and it was also different than what was advertised, but I liked it and I wanted the body, which was of excellent quality, so I kept it and didn't complain. But it was also totally different than the one they were trying to justify in my recent purchase.
It seems to me, these companies send whatever knock-off head they feel like at the time. So in an attempt to get the right one that I was spoiled at having, I went to the avdoll.com site. They had my head by another name at a nice low price. Thinking to be safe I asked to see a front, ¾ and side view of the actual head they were going to send. The pics they sent were not identical but very attractive and close, so I bought just the head. I was flabbergasted when what I received was the same darn head myrealdolls sent. I complained real hard. The lady rep was in China and very agreeable. It turns out their distributor was in Texas, so they were the ones who switched. I demanded to get the head in the pictures she showed me. She showed me more pics and assured that she would send that head, I liked it and said 'yes' send it.
Two weeks later, I got a different head again, this time close enough and attractive enough where I just kept it and gave up trying.
I am just amazed that that China lady had the actual head in front of her to take pictures of it but didn't send it.
So beware! Ask for three views of the head before you buy. You will then have evidence and leverage in filing a dispute on PayPal if the heads are not what you expected.
