“Lost pet and they haven't fulfilled their duties on time.”

Lauren L.
5/24/23

I placed an order for their most expensive package before they opened on 5.22.23, and while faxes were sent out and I believe that Facebook ads are being run, we have gotten no confirmation that a voice message has been created and sent out to people in my area, which is the thing that I was most concerned about getting done. Because, people need my phone number if they happen to see a cat in their back or front yard. She'll likely be gone if they have to go down the block to find my sign. What's worse is that their "customer service" is non-existent. We have tried to contact this company every way imaginable. I called them numerous time yesterday and today and every extension says that there are no agents available, the same message when you try to chat with them on their website. How can NO ONE be available at a company where they offer time sensitive services? Frankly, I listed my pet on other sites that have then offered to provide the same services to me and had I not spent hundreds of dollars with my lost pet alert, I'd have it to have to spend with these other people who might at least follow through and provide the service in a timely manner. In addition to that, we have emailed them, we sent a message through their chat feature (and there's never anybody available in their chat at least not for the last two days), tried contacting them via Facebook messenger except it appears that they are not accepting messages through messenger because all messages failed to send. It is absolutely absurd to operate like this when you tell people "We typically can process phone alerts within 1 hour, but please allow up to 3 hours in instances of high demand." (MyLostPetAlert.com FAQ page) and in my case, at the very least, this is just untrue. It's false advertising, because that's not what they've done and I'm aware that they're located in the West Coast, but we're still going on 48 hours later and I've received no phone calls service, and no response to any of my attempts to contact them. If I hadn't called to confirm with all of the local vets in my area that they received a fax from these people, I would think that this was a complete scam. How can you have no one available to talk to for the last two days? No message as to why no one's available, not even one person where I have to wait an hour or two to talk to them. Because, I would do that. And frankly this is horrible to do to people who are panicked and suffering trying to do everything they can to find their lost pets. My Lost Pet Alert is failing me when I paid them hundreds to provide a service in the time they determine.

I called all of the clinics that were allegedly faxed and not one received any fax from this business. I'm reporting to BBB and my credit card company for false charges.

If I could give zero stars I would. We tried to contact by calling and sending emails to ask for a refund because none of the services they advertised were done. Not one of the shelters and vet clinics we called to ask if they had been alerted had been altered. The only alerts they had been given were the ones from HomeAgain when I alerted them my dog was missing. We had better luck with Pawboost and Nextdoor. No representatives ever answer the phone they always say there are no agents available. This was a huge let down and we want our money back.

I paid for the package they recommend for rural areas... the Woof package. They say they will fax up to 15 pet shelters and veterinary clinics within a 25 mile radius. On my report they said they could not find any in a 25 mile radius using among other things google maps, and that this is common in rural areas... well there is a vet clinic 1 mile from me and about 9 others in a 25 mile radius that all pop right up on google maps. They say if I send them the fax number they will add it to their data base. Well if I call all these vet clinics in a 25 mile radius to get their fax number I am going to file my own lost pet report. This is what I pay them for and they don't deliver. Scammers.

While a vet/shelter may be listed on Google Maps, not every one of them will have a fax number - it is for this reason that the amount is "up to". Even in rural areas like this there are usually some with fax capability. Upon receiving your review our team reached out to offer solutions and our apologies - a refund was offered, but rejected.

This party informed me that the most expensive package would phone message 1000 homes with a prerecorded message homes within a five mile radius. To my horror, when I received the list of numbers and addresses I looked up 30 on mapquest that were greater than 20 miles away. When I attempted to follow up I was told I was in error. I asked if they would scrutinize the list properly and provide the missing calls and they insisted I was wrong. My card was billed nonetheless. Horrific under terrifying circumstances.

Hi Deborah,

I apologize for your stressful experience as certainly this is not the time to feel like we're not notifying the right people about your missing pet. I've looked over the conversation you had with our support over Live Chat and you didn't really give us a chance to resolve your complaint or for someone else to analyze and get back to you per your request (this review was made the same day).

In any case, I have scrutinized the phone calls myself and have come to the same conclusion as the support agent you spoke with, but I may understand why you were insistent that many of the calls were outside of your area. While it is a fact that all of homes in the list are within a 5 mile RADIUS, the DRIVING distance for some of them is upwards of 20 miles simply because of the surrounding terrain - your location is at the north west tip of El Dorado (a low population area) and there is another community not far to the north separated only by sand/desert - because the two areas are reached by a connecting highway located far to the east you're seeing a driving distance that is much higher than the actual distance between two points. Considering your lost pet is a BIRD, it seems reasonable that they could travel to this area.

When we do a pet alert we start with the closest homes to where your pet went missing and then work in a radius outwards using exact GPS coordinates matched against home addresses - there is almost never a reason to do an alert based around zip code, and with the largest $219 package in a low population area that may mean it extends to another town/area. I don't see anything wrong with the alert we did for your bird "Greynee", but I will be emailing you directly to discuss this further.

MyLostPerAlert makes robocalls without permission and without asking if recipient would like to participate. This is rude and unacceptable behavior, and not likely to get cooperation from randomly-called people. Report telemarketing robocalls to FCC and FTC Do-Not-Call list.

James E. – MyLostPetAlert Rep

Apologies, but due to the purely informational nature of our calls and strict adherence to robocall best practices, our calls are completely legal in all states and permissible by FTC/FCC organizations. You can read more about this here:
https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/qa-telemarketers-sellers-about-dnc-provisions-tsr#exemptorgs

In addition, our lost pet phone calls are not random, but are made in a small radius around where the pet was last seen. This is your neighbor that is missing a family member. Calls like ours help pets return home safely every day, so we do appreciate those that take a moment to listen - it's the nice thing to do!

They called me with a recorded message, despite my being on the do not call list,
And despite their being from another state.
