I was phoned and sold to renew based on new links to FTDNA and Geni. But, this was all so clunky an nothing new came from it. Still frustrated by the reduced export capability, and the increasing invisibility of so many new matches.

I have been doing genealogical research since 1986 and never looked back. Although I only do this as a hobby, I love finding new information if and when it pops up. My parents where immigrants from Holland to South Africa and I was born here. The history of my 4 grandparents is an absolute joy. My husband's family all have European roots and finding information is a task I love. With My heritage everything is kept save and available.
Renewing my subscription was genuinely a pleasant experience, being able to talk with a lovely human being over the telephone:-)

Having trouble using my family tree on my desktop computer. Please phone me to advise but after 25th November because I'm abroad over the next ten days.
I like most I guess became interested to look into my family history and through heritage has become amazing in the information and how it has come about. Then along came DNA and wow that in its self is unbelievable the connection to other family members from around the world that I didn't know existed.
MyHeritage provides me with continuous updates on new family tree and DNA matches. It seems to be better at this than other services.
I do like it so far but being classed as a good researcher on family tree and a member of Wikitree. I do see it's problems as the data is not confirmed where it came from and if it is correct. Giving an example, today I spent correctly putting right a family on my wife's side, the information was mixed with different.people in census and different families. To resolve the problem using my skills over the years to get back on track. Further more to do this I had to go through all census, birth, death and the new 1939 records all again to get it right. I have today started to put the info as free text so that I know it was confirmed by me. Example! When I looked at the 1939 records I recorded it as taken from that source. So it goes like this,
Address. 1901, 1911 and 1939 census
Born 1 Jan 1873. 1939 Rrecords.
This then makes it more easy to research. Yourself and confirm it. Obviousy my tree will have this which helps me it is correct as this has not been recorded by others yet. It can however be used by anyone as I do confirm other trees to the link. This then they have to agree and we share data etc.

To be able to add records to someone that others can see it and how you got it. I know this is added to my person but it is not seen in the data on the person and it is not seen by others, which could help speed up the process. Also add a maybe to research allowing it to be separate yes or no.

When locked out because of mistake in changing password, all help offered required me to be able to get on the site - which being "locked out' meant I could not follow any directions. Being creative, I began to leave desperate notes on any sites listed that I could access using my account # and personal information. About the time, I decided to let it be and go back to a prior company, someone responded to my email and the actual problem was fixed in 2 days. It was a simple fix. I worked with two of your employees and they were both professional, friendly and quickly resolved issue. I noticed while searching the internet for help, others using My Heritage were having similar problems. This was the second year that the required by you change of passwords caused me issues, unnecessarily. Hope it's the last.
Michael, my representative, took the time to explain what the offer contained, my savings, and the continuing price each year. In the past, this has been an issue and I considered cancelling my subscription because my locked-in price was not going to be honored. The decision will come next year when I view the yearly charges. I want to stay with MyHeritage as they have a lot to offer that I have yet to learn. I am hoping to try more options in the days to come.

The software was easy to learn and I was finding ancestors and building connections very quickly. With my subscription, I've also been able to take online courses that have been a tremendous help in learning how to do genealogy in general. So much fun, finding all the stories and history of my ancestors! Also did the DNA test through My Heritage and discovered history with countries no one in my family knew about!
Overall my experience with MyHeritage has been mixed. For someone starting to trace their family back in time, it is a very good resource to develop a family tree, even if you are a newcomer to this journey.
As time goes on and the family relationship discoveries become obscure, it is hard to justify paying for a premium membership especially in these times when the price of living continues to rise.
